How to save a theme, and switch to it easily - General Questions and Answers

Hello there,
Im using a Samsung Infuse 4g, and wanted to know if there is a way to save a theme, so I can use it again later. This way I can switch between several. Now i use ADW launcher EX, and change several icons, so its custom made. I download themes, but sometimes change icons and wallpaper to my own liking. The thing is, sometimes i want a dark one, black icons, dark wallpaper, and sometimes i use colors, like green/white combo, and change my icons. Is there any app or way to save a theme, so if i want to switch from one to another, i dont have to manually change al my icons all over again?
I hope there is an easy way
many thanks for any help

I can't think of any way really. Unless you actually created a 'Theme Chooser' compatable Theme from your look so that you could switch between them.
If you are using ClockworkMod Recovery you could do a nandroid backup with each set up and just flash to whichever one you want at any given time?
It would be a nice addition to Launchers if you could save a particular set-up as a profile, wouldn't it? Perhaps if it were suggested enough somebody might take up the challenge!

difference between wallpaper and theme

Flashed my phone to PROven rom with the help here. Much better now than FUZE stock set up. Have seen some cool setups, icons, etc and have done some reading. I think I am confused. What is the difference between a theme and a wallpaper. I know in the DiamondConf program you can change the theme (i dont not have any in my drop down box, but i looks like the Settings>Wallpaper changes the today screen. I am confused but learning.
There was a great first time flash instructions in Rom developement forum. Would like to see the same for icons, clocks, etc.
same difference as on pc
a wallpaper is a background image
a theme is a setup of background image
and titlebar and fonts...........

Gloss Icons pack

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=733702
Can someone tell me how to change icon packs? I would love to have these icons, but I have no clue how to change them except for the dock in launcher pro. these would go great with black mod
You have to go into each individual apk and replace the icon with the one you want from that icon pack. Tedious, but not hard. You may need to resize the image, and you will almost definitely need to rename it to match the one in the apk...though maybe not, since that pack was actually made for android...
Have fun!
OR you could download ADW launcher and just hold down on the home screen and select custom shortcut
OR download bettercut and apply them that way

How to Link to a different font, and not just replace a font

Hi All,
I have done a ton of searching the last few days and still have not come up with a specific answer. I am looking to link my lock screen font to a new font, and not just change or replace the font.
I am running a Moto DroidX with 2.3.3 (605) and using Go Launcher EX... just incase any of it matters.
My clock is not pulling from Clockopia.ttf, instead its pulling from the same font the rest of the system is (such as notifiers and such), and that is DroidSans-Bold. To test and make sure I was correct, I replaced the DroidSans with some wacky font, and it turned every peiece of system based font into the wacky one, clock and notifications included.
Because of this I am unable to easily change just the clock font. I wanted to replace the clock font with an invisible one so I could have a simple and easy way for my lock screen to look directly at my home screen with no clutter. I have read a few apps let you replace the lock screen, but don't really want to run anything new as a constant process just to hide a font. I'm also satisfied with the basic structure and functionality of the default lock screen minus the time and verizon banner. Does anyone know the specific config file and location where I can specify which font the lock screen pulls from?
Are there any apps, free or paid, that will help me accomplish this exact task? What I most liked about the invisible font was that it's easily reversible and all I had to do was backup the original font file. I've already bought several good utilities and am not affraid to pay for one more as long as it does what I want in a simple and reversible way... and Ideally will not run anything full time backround services.
Thanks.
Booo! No takers with some info on this one?

[Q] Valhalla (Black) dialer?

Searched, missed it if it's out there.
Does VB use a non-stock dialer? Just curious because none of the themes I've tried change the little phone icon... and the "black phone on black wallpaper" is hard for me to see. Would like the green phone back if possible.
(I realize this is extremely minor, just curious if it's possible, and what I need to do.) Thanks!
Check this out maybe you can use some of the apk's and push it to the system... http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1500701... follow the op for further instructions..
Cool thanks. There's no way to change the icon in the VB dialer? (I do like it better, other than the icon.)
Look at a different launcher (golauncher, launcher pro) - or the paid version of adw. You can change the icon to whatever you want.

Cool. So I got the paid ADW. Figured out how to change icons, which is COOL.
But I still haven't found a phone icon I like. I extracted the .PNG from the VB dialer, recolored it to dark green, re-saved it as a PNG and... ADW acts like it doesn't exist.
So now I'm trying to figure out if there is some requirement for icons of which I'm unaware. Seeing as all I did was change the phone color from black to green you'd think it'd be okay... :dunno:

If you have Titanium backup make adw system app. Also make sure its moved to the internal memory.

[Q] A new question! Wondering if this is possible...

I was looking at my phone the other day and though I like the "Droid Blue" color scheme throughout the OS, I thought it might be fun to change it up. Is this possible? Easy, difficult, not at all? Does someone know where to find a procedure to do so? I was thinking of going with a red theme instead, just for something different...
Along the same lines, I read somewhere a while back that it may be possible to change the color scheme on Android 4.4 as an added option by Google within the software - can anyone verify this?
As always, thanks in advance!
4.4 is white and black, thank-goodness they got rid of the blue. Also, you should really take a look at the themes on the Play Store...
Thanks as always for your replies, it's to the point where I await your responses to my posts/questions in the RAZR HD forums
About the themes in the Play Store... Do they typically work with the stock OS / launcher, or do I have to install a different launcher for certain themes I find (as in the Red Light GO Launcher, for the GO Launcher EX app)?
I was also reading recently about the "Themer" (app?) in one of the threads here at XDA - any experience?
Most of the themes require a theme manager. However, you can use Xposed to install themes, if you're rooted. I haven't messed around with Themer or Go Launcher much. Most of the "themes" you can install on a launcher are only icons. The theme manager changes the entire look, just look at some of the themes for CM that are on the Play Store, you'll see what I mean. Xposed has a module that allows you to modify the themes and use them on most ROMs.
