Not enough space issues on my infuse - Samsung Infuse 4G

I just seems to be having issues with my infuse, i am trying to download a game and it is telling me that there is not enough memory space left. can someone help me figure this issues out since i do not have any memory or space intensive applications on my phone

If you're running a custom ROM, I think some of them have messed up markets because I get this sometimes, too. But if you're not, I don't know.

google messed it up, not the devs, in fact on infused gtg fixed the issue

Market 3.x bug. Market 3.x moved downloads from /data to /cache, Google screwed up and broke devices that had smaller /cache partitions because there was never a need for /cache to be large before.
Use gtg465x's fixed Market from his Infused ROM. If you're on another ROM you'll need to manually extract Vending.apk from the zip from his ROM and manually install it.

Running gtg465x's Infused v2.2.3 and still having the space error issue. Do I need to extract the Vending.apk and manually install it? Shouldn't it already be installed in the v2.2.3? Also it seams like the battery life is pretty crappy, any ideas? Aside from the 2 mentioned issued everything seems to be working fine.
Thanks

It's an issue with the new store,
(one with the newer panel style view)
Cache can play a factor on some devices as well.
It never hurts to run through the managed programs list & clear some of your apps caches.
What will most likely fix this for you though isn't a rom change like some have been suggesting or clearing your cache. Its much simpler than that.
Revert to stock version of market packaged with your device.
Follow these steps...
1. Go to settings, applications, managed applications, select all tab
2. Find Download manager, click on it.
Force Stop, Clear Data, Clear Cache.
3. Go back to managed applications
4. Find Market, click on it.
Force Stop, Uninstall Updates, Clear Data, Clear Cache.
5. Reboot device.
Notes:
You may not be given the option to clear cache, this just means you don't need to.
***Do not let market update to newer version after reboot, or you will have to do this all over again.***
I suggest you try out the game Wind-Up Knight. Was the first thing I downloaded after I fixed this on my device. 40ish MBs.

Thanks for the reply. I just went back to S7, much smoother IMO. What's crazy is my daughter has the Galaxy Prevail from Boost mobile and she has the current edition of GB, fng crazy. LOL

Please help
I just updated by phone firmware from 2.2.1 to 2.3.6 yesterday using the following method:-
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1603220
Before the upgrade I had backed up all my phone apps (downloaded from the market) to my PC using wondershare Mobilego & now when I'm trying to restore my apps back to the phone it's telling me not enough space.
Think Market did update itself after the phone was upgraded to 2.3.6. Current version is 3.10.9
This is what storage settings of my phone are saying though:-
USB Storage:
Total Space: 13.03GB
Available Space: 12.07GB
System Storage:
Available Space: 1.23GB
I have an option to Format my USB Storage & I'm willing to do that if this helps. Else I'm screwed :crying:

Not enough room to update app?

I'm trying to update a LWP from the market but after it downloads it says it can't install due to 'insufficient storage'. I have roughly 45-47 apps (this includes apps, skins for better keyboard, and LWP's) after deleting a few apps and I still get this error. Any idea why? I'm holding off on going the APP2SD route until after the official 2.1 is released and our devs make it worthy of installation.
Under 'running services' it says: Avail 48mb+0.00b in 8 Other 0.00b in 4
In 'internal phone storage' it says: 19.02mb available
Currently running Fresh 2.0d
Also, does anyone know why Keepscreen from the market runs at startup? I only want to use it with Google Nav, which isn't often, and it bugs me that its in running services at every boot. If this cannot be adjusted, what similar app is out there than only runs when needed?
google nav stays up on its own for me, check the settings. And you may be out of room in the dalvik cache or the data/data section. Had that problem, so I enabled a2sd for dalvik cache, and no prob now. Running 102 apps, showing 88mb free internal storage.
Well I tried clearing cache using cachemate, cleared dalvik in recovery, and deleted 3 games bringing my available internal storage to 35mb and still can't update the LWP that has the update available.
Why isnt a2sd worthy of installation?
we had it on 1.5 with source and everything to it.
Its the same thing on 2.1, nothings changed.
The Only change would be on 1 rom that can use ext4 now.
When 2.1 is released a2sd wont be changed.
I get this error with handcent updates on fresh 2.0d also. After it errors I have to go into recovery and "fix apk uid" mismatches or i cant install it. Also i am using a2sd 2.5, Probably of no help, just sharing.
I had the same problem with 2 apps I tried to update and got out of memory errors.
I used root explorer and went to /data/data and deleted the app, after that I was able to install.

Oh its worthy, I made sure to buy a class 6 to use it. I just don't want to go through the trouble of setting it up until we get an optimized official 2.1 so I can format my card and get everything set so I don't have to make any big changes. I'm a bit burnt out from the dozen 2.1 flashes of different roms.

I just saw an update for another app and it worked, but still not the LWP. I uninstalled/reinstalled and everything is ok now. Go figure. My phone was also being really slow and a lot of processes were stalling after wiping dalvik but seems like its behaving now.

Problem with Market, stuck on installing

I had 3 apps that needed updating so I clicked update all. 1 app updated then I got a force closed, now the other 2 won't install and no matter what I try, it's stuck on installing. I tried clearing Market data and cache, I even uninstalled the 2 apps under manage applications.
Is there a way to reinstall Market, or reset it? I'm running nfinites stock .7 ROM.

I had the same problem. What you do is go Menu>Settings>Applications>Mangage Applications. Select the tab for all. Go to Market. Clear data and Clear cache. It will get rid of the persistent download that is causing market FC
Found a work around. Had to unmount the SD card, search the Market for the apps I needed to update, download and install, remount the SD card then move the updated apps to the SD card. Pain in the ass but it works.

[Q] Infused 1.5 issues

I'm running Infused v1.5.0 Kernel 2.6.32.9 instatalled on July 9th, since then I have a couple concerns, I have rebooted maybe 5 times, I have noticed that after I downloaded apps from the market yesterday, now when I go to download apps, the phone says that the app is downloading but it never installs. I then have to reboot to get the apps to download and install correctly. How long will it be if I see better battery life? Does anyone have an answer?

1. Looks like a bad flash. Maybe u could try doing a clean install again. I didnt' face this issue.
2. To get a battery life estimate (assuming u flashed with a full battery, or battery calibration has been done after the flash), it would take about a week to get the battery circuitry and phone OS to get in sync.
Can I Flash with my ROM Manager or do I need to catch up with the person who Rooted the phone and installed the ROM?
Yes but.read ops and flash from red cwm works better

Some things install themselves to the sdcard, try unplugging and plugging USB and make sure you see the media scan message.

Since u already have the ROM loaded on ur phone, here's what u can do:
1. Re-download the ROM and copy it to internal SD card
2. Reboot into CWM
3. Do a factory reset (wipes system, data and cache partitions)
4. Go to advanced menu and do a dalvik cache wipe
5. Flash the ROM now
6. Reboot
Do NOT restore any data or apps from TiBu. I would recommend to see how the clean install goes on ur ROM without restoring any data or apps from TiBu or any other software for that matter. You can install from market though.
Try to make a note of apps u install from market so we can try to isolate the problematic app.
Let us know here if the issue is still persistent.
Ok thanks and remember I have ZERO experience at this... hopefully this is my last question.. When I do step #3 will it erase step #1 since its on my internal SD?

High level memory structure on Infuse:
|
|-- Internal Memory (used for /system, /data, etc)
|
|-- Internal SD
-------|
-------|-- External SD
Step 3 erases internal memory only. Both the SD cards are not touched at this point. So ur downloaded ROM is safe.
Sometimes external SD cannot be mounted onto phone when in CWM. So make sure the downloaded ROM is present in some location on internal SD only.
Since u want it fresh, u could format the internal SD, and then copy the downloaded ROM to it, and then get started with this process. This way u have a clean slate with all traces of apps removed from internal SD too.
Easy way to fix this is go into settings-applications-all-market-force stop-clear data. The you should be able to download apps. The battery life could take up to 72 hours to show improvement, if not search "recalibrate battery" and that should help. No need to do a fresh install.

There is another thing you can try, open settings>applications>manage applications and scroll down to com.android.marketing and click on that then where you see 'clear data' & 'clear cache' click those too and check to see if the market app is running, if it is click 'force stop'.
After that restart the phone and the market should download properly.
Good luck
I will try this today
Maybe this is the problem, because I dont see com.android.marketing when I open settings>applications>manage applications. Its not there.
re: market not working
When you were looking for the com.android.marketing did you did you select the "ALL" on the top tab of that screen?
There are 4 options ontop of that screen: third party, running, all, and SD card. Select (click) the "All" and I am certain you will find it.
Do that and you will see the entry.

Question I completed the steps you suggested, but I'm still having an install issue. Question since my is Rooted can I reinstall my can I reinstall my factory ROM and keep the Rooting on my phone. Reason being is I didnt have the install issue until I but the Infused v1.5.0 Kernel 2.6.32.9 on my phone. My goal is to go back to the original factory ROM and stay Rooted

Restoring apps failing ERROR!!

Hi all,
When i reflash a new rom, all my apps which are supposed to just re download on their own get to a point and then about 30 + of them just fail.
Sometimes it says that there isn't enough space on the SD card, even though i've got plenty (16GB)
It's a real ballache to have to re download them one at a time and if i have to reboot then i lose the collection and that means i have to remember them and i always seem to forget some.
I only use titanium for a couple of apps because i don't see the point seeing as the android market usually does a good enough job of restoring my apps on it's own.
Rom's which this has happened with:
Coredroid
Insertcoin
P3D Sense
Android Revolution.
I always do a full wipe regardless of whether i'm instructed to or not, i format my card after every other flash of a rom and everything is usually tip top.
I'm about to re install a rom now and i'm betting that the same thing happens again.
Any help with this would be a great help.
Many thanks.

Your /cache partition is filling up while performing all the simultaneous downloads during the restore process. Android then aborts the download. You need to delete the orphaned apk files in that folder to clear the cache.
I think Google needs to improve the smarts in the restore process to prevent the cache from filling up
nvm Rumball beat me.

Nice one for that, but wouldn't i be clearing it by wiping the cache just before i flash the rom?
Would a second wipe help?
EDIT: Sonofabiiiatch it happened again, this is a pain in the ass man.
No, because its filling up because of your downloads, all the downloads at once have to store the files in the cache before installing it and with 30+ downloads it fills up quick, because of this i only ever use titanium to restore app.

Ah i see, but what if titanium restores apps which the market is already restoring? Won't you end up with two sets of everything?
Sounds silly but it's partly the reason why i don't use titanium so much.
EDIT: Shame on google for having such a **** part to their system.
just after you wipe , go to the market app and cancel all the downloads then dl titanium and restore, problem solved, and if your using the newer market, then it should just be a simple cancel all button on the top. Titanium also has the option of only restoring the apps you are missing.

Ahh i've not seen that option, i'll look into it next time i'm going to flash a new rom which won't be long Thanks for all your help m8. I appreciate it.
Just an FYI , the option is found by opening the menu and then selecting batch, it will bring up a bunch of option for restoring, wiping and backing up.

[Q] RH-01 Error when trying to open Google play store

I just rooted my phone from Jelly Bean 4.1 and am running the latest stable CM10 rom out. I also installed gapps, but wasn't sure if I had installed the right version. When I try to open the Google Play store, I get an error that says "Error retrieving information from sever. [RH-01]". My Wi fi and 4G are both on. I can access internet via stock browser. Also, when I try to search something it tells me that Gmail has stopped working.
same thing here, after i installed lots of apps to my microsd's 2nd partition using link2sd, i got all apps except system apps disappeared from 'My apps' at google play store though i could still see them as 'installed' when i search their names at google play store
i used link2sd to link around 900 mb of lib, dex and apk files, my second partition is ext 3, im using jellyblastv3 with kuro kernel that supports up to ext 4 my microsd is 16 gb and partition is around 1024 ~ 1078 mb
This didn't happen to me before, well im not used to link this lot of files but you know galaxy y has 195 mb internal storage and dalvik cache takes most of it and the apps that use app2sd method still take some space from internal so i also linked them.
The methods i tried :
Fixing using titanium backup market doc (after a cache, data cleaning of app store)
Tried to mess with link2sd, tried everything except 'relink all' but the problem is not about link2sd, all my apps are working fine
Deleting play store cache & deleting google framework cache and data, THAT led me to this error, while i was trying to get the other apps to show up in my apps list things gone worse.
I couldn't find any solutions on the internet for link2sd, been googling this for last 3 days, i'd appreciate any help
I've had the same issue. Erasing cache doesn't help, removing Google account doesn't help, reflashing doesn't help. I had to restore a backup to get the play store back.
I had the same issue with my phone, whenever I factory reset my phone I get that error. I had to flash through Odin, to another stock ROM and then go from there. Was never able to get around it or figure out why it wouldn't work.
Sent from my Nexus 7 using xda app-developers app
Fixed but still got problems
My error was caused coz i messed up with 'google framework' at gemini app manager too much, it changes app auto runs and i didn't know anything about google framework back then, i re-enabled some autoruns and its fine now, you could also try that app, its free on google app store
BUT i still couldn't find a solution to this :
I have got total of 210 ~ 216 apps installed on my phone including system apps, theres only like 16 showing up on the market (which i reinstalled or newly installed them recently from google play store) the rest aren't displayed at 'my apps' page, but i can still see them as 'installed' when i go to their download pages.STILL i can't update them, while appbrain market tells me they are outdated (its expected as i didn't update any programs due to this problem for last 2 weeks) google play store just shows 'Open, uninstall' options at app's download page
Is there any ways to fix this without losing all my apps data? I tried reinstalling from old backups but no luck, i don't wanna lose my apps data and i don't know how to backup my data without apks included
Bump.
Anyone else figured out any fixes. This seems to be affecting several people.
Go to apps- all google play store, clear cache, data and disable. Then google services framework clear cache and data and force stop. Reboot. Should get a notification for updates and go back into apps- all scroll to the bottom and enable play store. This has worked for me the last few times I got this error.
By the way I solved the problem by flashing the correct gapps for 4.1
Sent from my SCH-I535 using xda app-developers app
fix for my error
****EDIT**** : Can only get apps installed from google play store work, the rest (like installed from sd card) won't get linked to play store
looks like i found the fix, reinstall every single app (got 216 atm ) with their orginal APK without using titanium. It seems like titanium had problems while backing my apks up, perhaps its something about titanium failing to sync my data (i usually do full backups with data so this shouldn't happen) Devs should really create some apps - scripts to fix this kind of sync problems, i found only one app @ xda so far, but it scans the google play store database, not all of the databases on the phone, even if i point my ext as database it won't work, its so annoying how i gotta reinstall my whole 216 apps, probably gonna take one day cause i don't have backups of all my apks, only big ones (such as games).
if you don't wanna get same errors as i did :
use the default play store
NEVER use nandroid advanced restore unless you know what your doing
make sure titanium backup works well
always backup your data before flashing anything that has something to do with your system (such as roms, scripts)
NEVER use autorun managers on system apps (last time i disabled some autoruns about sms service, it took 1 - 2 days for my msgs to appear at my friends' phones.)

seems like most of the apps that i install from my SD don't get linked to google play store, they aren't even in the database, only apps that are installed from google store got their links correctly, someone help please
NOTE : i also get 'error retrieving info from server, RPC:s-5:AEC-0 if i wipe dalvik cache via CWM
IMPORTANT UPDATE : It seems like my apps divided into 2 different adroid IDs, probably cause titanium wasn't able to detect my new ID,
