GPA17 with the included kernel. Pete's stuff is always amazing and this is no exception.

heavy games from gameloft where used as test base
All ROMS and Kernel work differently on every phone ... some people have problems running Trinity and some people have problems running Ma1trix(I hope i spelt it correctly) anyways i don't mean to offend any of the devs but it depends on phone to phone
My Nexus runs smoothly with Nscollab .41 with TrinityEUV kernel (0.88 GHz) =]
Also Bugless Pete's GPA17 with the stock kernel which is btw Pete's own =]
and finally MIUI with TrinityUV android flavored kernel (1.0 Ghz) =]
to find out which one works best on your device you have to install and check them yourself
Hope i helped
There are no "problems" with Matr1x.
You just need to tweak the voltages and find something that works for you....
As a fresh NS user, I wanted something similar to stock + added notification bar toggle + kernel with BLN & Voodoo sound. Found this combo with TSM Pool party 1.3 ROM, which is based on Pete's work and his kernel. Works excellent:]
CM7 RC1 + T144 or TEUV if I feel like saving battery

Very true, I initially thought my phone doesnt work with matrix, Then i figured how to undervolt my phone and change profiles in set CPU, Now phone works great with matrix.
Really like TEUV though, but found it lagging a bit in high graphics games,.

I am testing this now, praying the BFS scheduler finally gives me a lag free CM7 experience. Is the minmax governor a better performer than smartass?
I prefer x99's smartass, I think he just tweaked it recently on his github. I think minmax is a older govenor. I also get better battery life with the smartass
I just added minmax for testing purposes and to have more governor options
Thanks for the update will test over the weekend.

Nice, well I tested it to the max for a whole day using gps navigation, wifi, 4g, pretty much everything lol. Data connection also seems better as well.
Soo far everything is working good. My wifi works perfect which I couldn't get to work with x99's kernel no matter how I tried flashing it including a full wipe.
What speed does this kernel boot at? Is there any way you can implement any of Scary's goodies into your kernel? I liked that his let's you do 184 min. Also any way to go higher than 1.5 ghz as I like using 1.8 at times. What is the sleep max on say ondemand etc. Anyway your gonna do undervolting?
Anyway thanks for the kernel and the hard work!

yes as soon as my team member get's back from vaction we'll be working on things like that. So the kernel can be worked on more
I basicly pushed this kernel out as soon as I had it working perfectly
After an hour or so of testing I have experienced no launcher or messenger app lag, whatever you did here its working for me.. I wonder if its the BFS? Do you know if bcnice aosp kernel used this too? His kernel is the only other like this that performed so well..

yes I do think it's bfs. I noticed how well the animations and graphics are so smooth. If I went back to none bfs I don't think I'd like it haha
Not sure about bcnice has it
Don't install this kernel version over the latest nightly, some things like wifi seem to not be working. I'll work on a updated version as I really want to stay up-to-date haha
Updated kernel but I have to remove bfs due to compatibility issues
Soo far everything is running great. I have no issues running 1.8ghz at all if I'm using ondemand governor.
How much did you undervolt? Meaning is it kinda like scary's or more like Bc's or X99's.
Thanks for making a great kernel. Everything works for me perfect.
1 request... Can you add 184mhz like Scary had? My phone saves lots of battery when I use it.
Awesome kernel!!!! Very smooth and I as well have no issues oc'ing to 1.8ghz... Great job man, keep it up!!!! Thank you!!!

This is running well on on the latest shiftdeck rom. Fixed some minor video issues (lag) I was having with other kernels. Nice work!
<Blaze One>
This kernel is nice and fast on Shift Deck ROM but it seems to be a little rough on my battery. I've only been using it for about 4 hours, so maybe with some tweaking I can get it back up to par. Really enjoying the speed though.. Appreciate the great work.

Most of the changes in the nighties you are not going to notice a whole lot. The biggest changes are changes in the kernel. This kernel was built of the latest nightly kernel just a couple of days ago so it should be compatible with all the nightlies unless they mess with the kernel some more. But cyanogen just tweeted that we will have a rc soon So I'd just wait until then. Also I'm going to take a look at the stock ota update and see if I can hack the kernel and rom for us to intall without the latest hboot
kinda of likr the title says i am looking for a rom hat does good on battery and not getting warm
Tried the two revolution roms and made phone warm as did the xboarder rom.
Any ideas which i should try next?
I have the best results with Energy. I have tried every ROM and always come back to Energy.

I am running ARHD v3.6.1 as well and my phone is warm as well...I flashed the Bricked Kernel v1.2 and that has made a difference, but not significantly. I tried clocking back to 1.2Ghz but that has made no difference.
I have been running BK with v3.6.x and not had one reboot, just the warm phone problem.
I'm using energy oct3 version right now but phone is getting warm, but could just b the kernel using bricked v1.2, but when I was on oct2 version everything was amazing, phone never got hot, and battery life was amazing, and this is wwith brightness at 85% all the time, 4g on, and texting consatlly, couple calls and 6 hrs of music. Think I'm going to go back to stock kernel on Oct 3 version n if don't help I will b going back to oct2 version.

Nice will try energy then arhd wasn't a getting that good of battery life. The phone ran great just got warm.
try pyramid3D. its great. im running it right now. good battery life and rarely gets hot
InsertCoin! I'm telling you, this rom is quick, great battery life when you underclock it to 1.2ghz from the default 1.5ghz and it's amazing with the updates it gets, and get's better all the time. Great dev support as well.
if you can be bothered to read through the arhd thread (i know its huge) but theres some stuff about changing thermal config in there mite be useful to you
Faux kernels run really cool on my phone. I apply the thermal patch too but I don't know if it is necessary. You can his kernels on pretty much any rom.

There is no best kernel. All the threads asking receive the same answer, that is that it all comes down to personal preference. Try them all and see what you like best.

I tried Trinity, drains my battery faster than usual.

Sleep of Death, phone goes into sleep mode and freezes. Raising the Voltages helps.
I have tried every kernel out there & have had trouble in some form with all of them, except for the Glados Kernel. Rock solid stable, & a nice balance of performance / battery life. Using NStools allows you to get the most out of the kernel. I use it with live OC set at 105, & the lazy governer. This is what works well for me, it may differ for your phone.

Thats a adventure you have to take alone
in all seriousness you gotta try out Trinity =]
Check out the kernels in this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1283031
The nice thing about it is the availability of the 1320MHz frequency (if needed), yet you can run an undervolted setting most of the time and enjoy great battery life.
Most other kernels seem to be either fast or good on battery, here you get both in one package. Give it a test drive!

Whys it all the way up :O i mean OC'd just install TUV and use LiveOC 110 =/
It'll just OC it to about 1110 Mhz + 10% clock increase of the GPU
HI guys
Im currently using MIUI US Rom ver 2.4.6 with stock kernel. can anyone recommend me a fast and stable kernel compatible with this rom?
Will these do the trick?
I've heard only good things about Trinity, but I stopped using MIUI a long time ago, it's pretty outdated at this point.
I personally use the Trinity kernel when running MIUI but some prefer Faux123's kernel. It tends to be you choose which ever one is the most stable for your phone as not all are created equal. The other thing to note is that if you flash the kernel straight from morfic it will cause you to loose the ability to set themes and keep them after a reboot.
I have the modified Trinity Kernels that you can get to try and they both are flashable from CWM and have the theme fixes.
They are both found here >>Trinity Kernel<<
If you want to know the difference between them go to morfics thread and the explanations are there.
thanks for the elaborated explanation and the Trinity builds. but what stability lose am i to experience? i flashed 4 hours ago ELP build and i have no problems with the themes.
You aren't necessarily going to experience stability issues. It is just a possibility you could. If you aren't then you will be fine.
I do suggest that you get setcpu so you can set the clock speed to the 1.1ghz that the kernel wants to default to but the os pushes it down to 1.0. But it is not a nessecity.

The Destroyer
I would use The Destroyer16. I've seen many MIUI G2x's run stable and decent battery life (with a little UV) with this kernel. Plus 1.6ghz max will rip benchmark scores like crazy. Only good for gb 2.3.7 MIUI IMO. You can find it in the huge Trinity thread under g2x development.

dont do this unless you know what your doing. it works on any CM7 based rom, but its very unstable and really only used for testing and benchmarking.

Nobody can tell you which Kernel will work best for whatever ROM you wish to use it for because even though we have the 'same' phone, they are not all equally built. What may work with amazing battery life and performance to one person, might be terribly sluggish with terrible battery life for the next person. The only real way to tell which ROM+Kernel combo works best for your phone is to try every Kernel you think your phone 'likes'. Whether we all want to admit it or not, that is probably the best way.
Hope this helped, Good luck!

Trinity Kernels
I recently installed the Trinity Kernel and I don't really feel like I see a difference in my phone. I feel like my battery has shown no improvement. I installed the ti5 one but maybe I'll try the ELP one instead to see if I get anything different. I'm really looking for longer battery life. I used the phone theses days for about 30min of music a day (subway ride) and browsing here and there. Turned all syncing and app notifications off.
Check out the attached photos. I've seen screenshots of people with bar graphs showing their device at the top way ahead of everyone else.
