Does 2.3 bootloaders fit with Miui rom?
(I think i got the i9000 bootloaders)

I9000 won't work too well. The I897 ones are ok.

Thanks alot!
I'm using Apex 9.2
First thing, i'm not sure which version of the bootloaders i have, how can i check?
Second, if i have the i9000, all i have to do is flash the i897 bootloader from odin? and will the i897 rom work with all the other roms? [apex, fasty etc.]
Yoel.
What button combo do you use to get into recovery?
Volume up+ power for recovery
Volume down+ power for download
Sent from my SGH-I897 using XDA App
You are on i9000 bootloaders the combo for i897 is both volume rocks and power for recovery.

Okay thanks and again, how can I switch to i897 bootloaders and if ill still be able to flash roms like APEX fasty cognition etc.?

Search for at&t BL under the development section and flash them but you take a risk of bricking when ever u flash them.

Yes, I897 boots work on I9000 roms, although you might want to grab either a 3rd party music player or one from an I897 ROM as the stock I9000 music player will not work.
There's a link for the I897 GB bootloaders in my sig.

So I am on the original KF1 Rom right now(I know, I am falling behind). I want to flash the new DevilBread rom. Here is my question: I will need to Odin back to Froyo in order to use CWM to install DevilBread. Will this install the Froyo bootloaders again, or am I OK to just flash DevilBread right after without doing anything?
Thanks!
I think you would be good to go straight away unless you use a completely stock froyo rom but with something like deodexed kd1 I think you would be good

Cool. Exactly the Rom that I flashed to in order to get CWM. It appears to be working perfectly fine so far.
if you are going to use kd1, use dr honks, not whitehawks. it has a faulty system partition

How do you flash these leaks, im going to use odin for it but just a little direction would be highly appreciated. I've been flashing and rooting samsungs but have never tried a leak. Also, am I able to flash gummy charge back over this if needed and the radio still remain?
Sent from my SCH-I510 using XDA App
Gonna kang the radio out of this and run GC2.0 FE until it gets remixed.
Also the whole flash modem deal I don't understand either

Maybe I do understand, flash the leak and boot it then flash the modem correct? I don't care for ext4 or all that I just want the latest gingerbread and radio. Modem =radio? When I flash the modem thru odin do I put it in the pit or pda?

Can we follow the root/rom guides in here? the specs seem to be exactly the same
Yes exactly same phone
Thanks I rooted and installed clockwork recovery. how do I access recovery from boot up
Sent from my SGH-I727R using XDA App
Not sure this is the easiest way, but works for me:
While holding down volume up and down, push power. Keep volume buttons held until after samsung screen.
You could also use rom manager to boot to recovery.

But I wouldn't recommend flashing my Odin TAR on a Rogers device.
Use superoneclick2. 2... Theres a thread in dev for that... After root download rom manager and install tmobile sgs2 cwm

Sorry bro but i think yes, i had the same issue, i tried to get into CWM after installing "stable" version,If your CMW is gone after installing ISC version then probably same issue, CWM is affected by that file thats why OP removed it, but for now you have Odin back to stock sorry.
Hope thats helpful.
Flash the cwm community kernal and do 3 button restart. You will get it back.
Flash with sgs kernal flasher app. and shut down, reboot woth 3 button. Wala!

If that's correct you're in the right forum!
Check out the link that warren sent to you so that you can get the phone onto Gingerbread bootloaders, which you'll need to flash any Gingerbread and more recent ROM (GB, ICS, JB). Make sure you also check out the wiki for a lot of our guides.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/wiki/Samsung_Galaxy_S/SGH-T959V
Thanks guys, upgrade to GB 2.3.6 and rooted. Quick question Rom manager don't have cmw recovery for this phone, which recovery does this phone use and how do you boot into bootloader/recovery manually on Galaxy S 4G?
Sorry this is my first using Samsung phone.

I think you should keep away from Rom manager as it is not compatible on our phone, here check this out.. http://forum.xda-developers.com/wiki/Samsung_Galaxy_S/SGH-T959V/Flashing_a_kernel .flash the gingerbread kernel and you are good.. and this also it may help you with some trouble ahead... http://forum.xda-developers.com/wiki/Samsung_Galaxy_S/SGH-T959V .once you have custom kernel you can check some custom GB roms and ICS. head over to development section and you
can choose what you think it's best..

Depending on the kernel the recovery will either be CWM or TWRP. The easiest way to reboot recovery, if your on a ROM that doesn't support it from the power menu, is to download Quickboot from market. The other way is to power phone down then hold both volume rockers then press and holder power. Once the splash screen changes or gets brighter let go of power only. Either way works. For your own good delete the ROM manager app now.

An extra bit of helpful information - if you decide you want to restore your back up that you made, do from from the kernel/recovery you made the back up with.
You can always use the one click back to stock in lumins sig if u fork it up
