If nobody has heard there is a hack for ps3 which allows you to run homebrew and install and run games to/from the internal HDD and external USB.
There was some company selling some device for a ripoff $150 and now since they started that the source code got out and others have duplicated this to run on different USB developer boards and now on a cellphone, the N900 and also I heard someone got it working on a Palm Pre..
Anyone wanna give it a shot to see if it works?
There was a post somewhere on psx-scene that someone was working on a Android port and I think a psp port.
Would be pretty sick if it does get ported to Android and if we can use our phones to store backups.
The port to Android will just allow u to run and install the backup app. From there on u can back up and play your games off the ps3 hard drive.

Really interested in this, I don't feeling like taking the time to root my brother's pre.
Sounds like the android port is up and running on several android devices (Desire, Nexus 1, Dream) at the time of this post.

Any chance the available source can be used to get this working for our Incredible devices?

from another thread in the android section. anybody willing to try this? it says it won't work on sense based phones, yet the desire is listed so maybe it'll work on an incredible with cm6?
Looking forward to this being ported to the incredible. Absolutely amazing idea.

Tried and failed....
Am running CM 6.0.2 and after flashing PS3-signed.zip the phone would get stuck on the white HTC screen. I had to restore my boot partition from a nandroid backtup to get up and running again.
Didn't work for me on Skyraider 3.1
Looks like someone will have to compile that module for our device. Wish I knew how to do it.

Not sure how many ppl are really trying right now. I don't know a lot but I'm gonna download the source code for it. Try to compile it and a kernel it will work with. Figure why not, the worst I could do is miserably fail. Lol.

It appears that the latest ps3 firmware update closed any avaliable exploits. Including the one that we are wishing to use.

As most of us, I have been following this since the leak this morning and we now have a flashable release over at AndroidPolice.com (http://www.androidpolice.com/2011/05/16/download-leaked-gingerbread-rom-for-the-htc-thunderbolt/)
I am personally waiting until das BAMF comes out with their next version based on GB just so I don't have to download and configure another rom within days, but again, congrats to Jcase.

Ha yeah...Adrynalyne said it was a trojan to free up bandwidth for dev's to download it. The original "leak" was not flashable and people would have messed up their phones if they jumped the gun too early. Probably did himself and the rest of the community a BIG favor (no threads titled "Help I tried to flash the leak and screwed up my phone")
Has anyone tried this yet with 4G? Will this work with Titanium Backup so I do not have to reload all my info and apps?
Thank you!!!

It just hit within the last 30 minutes or so. Right now it may just be a trial and error thing. Just do a nandroid backup of your current rom and start experimenting. Let us know

I wish the OP would update the thread to make sure people got the full story...
Also, I have a Dedicated Web Server and could have hosted if bandwidth was such an issue, though it's all hindsight at this point.

What full story...the rest of it a whole 2-3 threads down. It's not like it's 25 pages away like the rest of the information in that thread. I put this out here because not everybody lives in the dev section waiting for new stuff to drop.

I hope we end up with some kind of video call software.
Rumors about Skype working proper and maybe even a Google app that works.
Hope so anyway.
Looking forward to the updated Bamf that's for sure.

Probably your network. I dont think the rom would be throttling your speeds.. you would either have a connection to 4g or not.
running it since last night, you guys in the chat were super helpful thank you!
Not sure if this was mentioned (didn't see it on the first couple pages of posts), but Netflix has updated to V.1.4 and now says it supports all phones running Android 2.2 and 2.3. I installed it via the online App Store which showed my Infuse as a supported device. I know we've had Netflix unofficially for some time, but it's nice to have an official install now!
Cheers!
it was on the market since 1.3 i thought.
I've had official Netflix from the market since I purchased the Infuse.

IIRC, 1.3 was the first version that was released for download on the App store and not an OTA release, but it still didn't support all phones.
I know we've been able to run Netflix on our Infuses for sometime now thanks to the .apk being available to download here (I've had it on my Infuse since a week or so after i got it), but I was just mentioning that the official version for all Froyo/GBread phones/Tabs is available now as per Netflix's announcement.

Yeah the netflix app from the market works flawlessly on my G2X. I'm on the MIUI rom 1.9.9 though if that makes a difference.

Please forgive me ahead of time for I am a developer here.
As far as I know Cyanogen is making a ice cream sandwich build and it is currently in alpha. This is for the g2x. We have other developers working on the optimus 2x and are relatively in the same situation.
No one seems to be able to get sound and camera working. I recently found out that CM now has sound working, but still no camera. Almost everything else is working
. So the ueation arises... Where is it? If your looking for a copy of it, I'm sorry to tell you that it is not available for just anyone.
It is however available for a limited number of people... 20 actually. Everything is working on my build!!!! But it needs some stability so I'm looking for some beta testers who have a g2x and an active carrier.
To apply for beta testing, please email me telling me the following info..

There are a number of bugs to be worked out. The reason I have this build is because I have a connection with one of the developers at LG and he sent me the O2X version and some other drivers...
