So is there a way to have the date permanently displayed in the status bar and not only when I drag it down?
I know there are apps in the market for that but they usually permanently display something in the Notifications window and take up most of the space. I just want the date in the status bar without having it displayed again in the notifications
How to achieve this?
Thx!
no one? Is the solution that obvious that no one else had to ask it?

you can create your own status bar http://uot.dakra.lt/kitchen/
Thanks, I know of the kitchen. But are u sure I can set it to display the date? I thought only color and symbol changes are possible with it...
Also, there is no option to select qhd resolution for statusbar?

My home screen has a useless bar under the top taskbar that reads 3G T-mobile and does nothing but waste screen space. Is there any way to get rid of it? CHT doesn't help.
You can edit that line in CHT. Put, If lost please return this phone to (your address here).
LOL. I agree its useless.

You can change the text? Please tell me how. I don't see an option for it in the CHTeditor.
What ROM are you running?
2.13.531.1
ideally i would like to get that screenspace back but if its impossible, changing the text would be ok.
I don't know if CHT 1.8 versions are the same as I'm using CHT 1.7.1, but it's in CHT Editor under Miscellaneous Settings. Look for "Custom Operator Text" and change it to say whatever you want. If you want it blank, just use a space.
Note that only affects the text, not the curtain (the semi-transparent bar). To make the curtain totally transparent, I'm using the Touch X remove top curtian.cab that can be found at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=584415.
3g T-mobile bar
You can also put date only or clock only and notiification icons, seems to be good use of space for mr.
How about you just move the clock up over the bar.
I also did this and while it removed said carrier bar, it also allowed my weather panel to move up slightly which caused it to hover over the clock panel. This did not look good so i uninstalled this mod.

Try the attached cab.
With all the software offering indicators, services, shortcuts, etc. pinned to the notification bar, it quickly runs out of room. Many apps default to, or does not allow the removal of icons from the status bar.
Is there such application that allows for some sort of management or modification of the notification bar?
It would be nice to keep certain icons from displaying, or making the bar twice the height, or allow some sort of scrolling.
Anything?
Thanks.
scrolling is already available.

Thanks. Are you talking about lateral scrolling? Will you please point the way?
Cheers.
I think he means scrolling is native, as in you could do it already with what you have.
Maybe check out smart bar, you might find use full

I see. I was looking for enhancements beyond what is stock. I did find Smart Bar, but it does not alter the behavior or capabilties of the status bar--it only adds items to it.
My status bar is crowded as it is, I was looking for something that will modify the behavior of the bar.
Thanks.
Hello,
Is there a way to change the status bar to a transparant one without having to flash some kind of tweaks?
I kina like my phone setup as it is right now (VI401 with nova prime) and have a hidden toggle to hide the statusbar on my homescreen.
The bar stay's visible at the lockscreen, whilst the info is verry handy, the black bar covers some of my wallpaper, and i don't like it this way.
Would it be possible to change the PNG file(s) with a transparant one at some location? Where would that/these locations be?
I'n quit new to android, and have no developpers skills. Finding correct dirs and making my own PNG files is no pob for me.
Cheers,
adam
