[Q] Wifi Calling In CM7 alpha5 - HTC Sensation

I installed CM7 alpha and this got rid on the Wifi Calling app. It doesn't even show up in manage applications.
I've tried flashing t0ny0's fixes and xboarders but nothing helps...
Anyone know what to do?

Try wiping cache and dalvik. If that doesn't work, nandroid backup and then factory reset. CM7 #5 does indeed have working wifi calling app

Same thing happened to me. Is there a way to install it separately?

From what I have read in the thread its suggested you wipe davlik b4 and after flashing. Cm,and also flash fixes posted within thread.

I have done all of that and still nothing...
Its not that it doesn't work, its that its nonexistent.

Did you it install for you in alpha 4?

Hmmmm, it's there for me. Well, there's a zip u can flash in the op of core Droid ROM

Like I said, it's there for me on every alpha up to 5. I told u where to find the zip

Ok thanks. I'm thinking it has to do with the do with the fix I installed from this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1261008
Maybe it somehow messed with some settings, but then again even if I go to my sense rom and clear everything and flashing cm7 alpha 5 and format everything wifi calling is still messed up...
I'll try again
Edit: i saw other people have had this problem in persiansown's thread

Why don't u just get the zip from the xboarder op? Sorry, not core Droid. Problem solved

I did with no luck... I'm currently installing cm7 aplha5 from a restore of sense... Seeing if anything works right now

Check this out.

Do you have TMOUS sensation? If you do, paste me the output of: cat /proc/cmdline
The reason it is disappearing is that on flash, we check to see if you have a TMOUS sensation4g via your modelID, and if you don't we remove the apk. That way both euro and US people can use the same build.

I noticed the wificalling apk isn't in /system/apk in the cm7 zip files anymore.
I have a tmobile sensation and wifi calling app doesn't show up anymore.
How should I get it back? I flashed some guy's wifi calling zip from some sense rom, and it totally screwed up my entire phone, had to do nandroid restore.

Well, persiansown has been asking for output of cat /proc/cmdline for people that have a T-Mobile Sensation but don't have WiFi calling. You can help him out with that.

Yeah I just pm'ed him mine.
Also I just reverted to stock via ruu, updated to ota, then flashed latest cm7 alpha6, and still no wifi calling

Persiansown says its probably due to people with super cid. The app is in the zip but it has a nonsensical file name. According to him the cm7 they built for sensation checks your cid and only installs the wifi calling app if your system has the t-mobile cid.
For anyone not on t-mobile, the app is just worthless bloat. Doing it this way means they only need to maintain one ROM file for both t-mobile and European phones.

[Q] Can't receive MMS; ROM, kernel, radio, firmware?

Hi,
Got a HTC Sensation a couple weeks ago.
Installed CM7 alpha 10 with Bricked 1.6 Kernel, upgraded radio to the one suggested in CM7 thread.
I can't receive MMS messages. The message comes but it fails to download the attachment.
I am with Fido in Toronto, Canada. The phone was initially a Bell phone. I unlocked it via "method 2".
3G works fine, phonecalls work fine, SMS works fine. I tried all the APN settings I could find on the internet. I called fido and they couldn't do anything.
Could it be a problem with the phone? If not, what should I look at?
Check that your Radio matches your RIL via the sticked thread in the Android development section. If data works on your phone then it's most likely your APN mms settings.
Yes, data works. (So can't be RIL issue?)
I tried all the MMS APN configurations I could find on the internet for Fido. I even tried the ones that worked on my Motorola Milestone. Still can't download the attachment.
Never said it can't be RIL. Go into Settings->About Phone. What is the baseband listed?
Also, have you had someone else send you a different MMS and see if it works? Could be a problem with that specific MMS.

Yes, a few people tried.
I had the same issue on Rogers and I figured out that under the APN settings, you need to just put "*"(without the quotations). Not sure if that will work for you or not, but it can't hurt to try. Make sure to reboot after applying the APN settings.

Well your RIL doesn't match your radio. You should be using the 10.58 radio with this RIL.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1202867
Though I heard about that adding the asterix to APN Type has fixed issues in the past. Remember to reboot after trying. Do a little bit more research into it, I'm not entirely sure...

Thanks man. I never really thought about RILs before. So many things to think about. Firmware, Radio, RIL, Kernel, ROM...
I went to the Radio thread and it was saying to just flash the one I did. After reading a bit about RILs, I think it would be best to match them. But is it better to flash another radio, or another RIL?
From: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1202867
"Note: If a ROM has a recommended radio , the ROM is already Pre-Matched to that Radio by having the matching RIL files included in it by the ROM chef. For example the InsertCoin 2.1 (2.3.4) ROM will already have the 169 RIL because it requires the latest radio, so I do not want to go flashing the 159 (TMOUS RIL) onto this ROM if I have the recommended radio installed.

No, I went to apply update or install zip (and then you choose which one off the sd card). Can you tell me how to do it exactly? Also, I thought since they were "repackaged" you wouldn't have to.
EDIT: just tried with mounting system first. Still nothing. I even tried re-flashing the radio. Same thing. Baseband unknown.

Yeah, the booting after flashing the radio is a known bug.
Ok, the new radio+RIL is doing the same thing. Baseband version shows unknown and no signal (obviously). Something about how I'm flashing the RIL is wrong...
EDIT: Doing nandroid restore until someone has a better suggestion
So get this. Nandroid restored my old RIL files. And those happen to match the last radio I flashed, 10.58. So now radio and RILs supposedly match. Still can't download mms attachment. Where can I try this * fix??

BusyBox Update failed

I'm having an odd problem, and I'm not sure what to do about it.
This morning when I woke up, I noticed that there was a BusyBox update in my notification bar. Upon trying to update it failed.
So, I uninstall BusyBox, and try to reinstall it, but I'm met with a message that I don't have root access. Upon checking with Root Checker, I DO have root access. But, now all of a sudden, my wifi is not working, when it has worked flawlessly up to this point.
I'm not sure what to do. I don't have a nandroid backup to roll back to, and I need my wifi to work. Would doing a factory reset and flashing a new ROM solve this problem?

I think MIUI occasionally loses recovery. Possible kernel issue.
Read through the thread to see if you can get some additional info.
I'm not sure if it has any bearing on your wifi..possible.
If you know how, you can try extracting the kernel from MIUI rom and reflashing just the kernel using SGS kernel flasher to retain your data.

I definitely don't know how to do that haha. I'm a noob when it comes to this whole game, although I'm slowly learning.
Do you think doing a factory reset, wiping everything, and then flashing a new ROM might fix my issue? I did want to try out one of the new ICS ROMs, so if that will fix my problem I might as well go ahead and try one of them out.
Flashing Uniporn seemed to have fixed my issue. I first re-flashed MIUI and that didn't solve anything, so I guess the issue was with MIUI? Just odd that the wifi would drop out after using it flawlessly for 4 months.
Oh well, got something new to play with again. Thanks for the help guys!

[Q]wifi problems in ICS

hello,
i've been trying to get my mt4gs to turn wifi on in ics. when i turn it on it says, "turning on" but just goes back to "off". i tried turning it on via settings and via the panel. i do a full wipe every install -reset data, clear cache, wipe dalvik cache. also not sure if it's related adb cannot detect device when booted but works fine in recovery when in ics.
i've read and tried the various .zip files for various radio/kernel posted by football but still no go. i may be overlooking a step when flashing but here is my device info:
CWM Recovery version 5.5.0.4 also used 5.0.2.7
Baseband: 11.59.3504.00U_11.16.3504.20_2
HBOOT: Unlocked
DOUBLESHOT PVT SHIP S-OFF RL
HBOOT-1.45.0013
RADIO-11.16.3504.20_4
Nov 21 2011
it works using gingerbread - tried OTA Stock, as well as bulletproof and it connects ok, but i need to turn wifi off first if i need to reboot otherwise i get the same issue, wifi won't turn on.
sorry for the long post, and forgive me if i missed an already existing thread. thanks for reading. any help is greatly appreciated.
well what rom are you using
I had the same problem with certain ROMs. Sometimes it would even say instead of switching back to off it would just say error. I used Dark Raider for Vivid and had that problem. I did everything and gave up. I downgraded my vivid to GB and rooted it. WiFi is an essential to me so I have to stay where I can switch it on. I hope there's a fix for this soon.

It was really frustrating for a while. It was the exact symptom you have described. I kept trying by flashing the kernel with fastboot, then flashing the ROM, and then flashing the kernel again with fastboot. It seemed that whenever I changed something, I had to use that sequence to get it to work again.

Any stock GB Rom version wifi is ok. Using Bulletproof 1.1 works fine as well. Tried v0.9b WildchildICe and update4 of unofficial cm9 and still no wifi. Gonna stick with WildChildIce rom for now and try different Radio combinations.

[Q] Sensation cant connect to mobile data

Hey all,,,I have a tmo sensation and have opensensation currently installed....the thing doesnt want to connect to mobile data...keeps showing the H then disconnects and repeats. Just happened recently and has been working fine on official nightly builds.
been searching around and seen others with the same issue but havent seen a fix for it
apn is correct
anyone have any idea's?
Found an answer to this in another thread. Apparently its a problem with the audio routing fix in CM roms that causes data issues in some devices.
I flashed: http://d-h.st/RFY this and it data is back to normal.
Did you flash that after wipe or over the top? I just wiped and flashed and am continuing to get the flashing data. Restoring back to Sense works and is an option, but the oddest thing for me was that this issue occurred like over night, without any installation on my part.

Weird. I am on that same version and have been flashing 4.2 roms for the last few weeks without any issues.
A few things I would try:
-Double check the md5 of the rom you are flashing
-Make sure it is a d2vzw rom
-Wipe caches, delete user data and wipe system
-Put the rom on the internal sdcard before flashing.
Other than that, I got nothing

Ok, I think I figured out the problem (won't be sure until I try it), but I think what happened is I edited my build.prop to the Sprint GS3 to get Google Wallet to work, forgot to change it back, and updated TWRP (which installed the Sprint version, not Verizon), and that's why the flashes are failing. So if any other people are having the same problem, that might be why. Yes I'm an idiot lol. Hopefully this fixes it

Yeah it turns out that was the problem. I edited my build.prop to match the Sprint GS3, so I could download Google Wallet from the Play Store and use it. I just never bothered to change the build.prop back. And when I updated TWRP through GooManager, it assumed I had a Sprint GS3 and installed the wrong recovery. When I flashed the correct Verizon version of TWRP everything worked fine. Thanks for the suggestions everyone

Good call. Might be worth mentioning over in the wallet thread. It could save someone the headache you just experienced. Congrats on getting it working.
