Sense 3.5 for Thunderbolt... - Thunderbolt General

More of a question on opinions, but with Sense 3.0 designed for dual core phones, the likelihood of it being released officially for the Thunderbolt is pretty much nil. I'm curious if HTC might be willing to roll out Sense 3.5 (removes the dual core restriction) for us. Anyone heard any whispers?

Newp.........

Very doubtful

No way would they skip 3.0 and give us 3.5. They can apparently barely handle GB don't expect them to do GB and 3.5.

Besides, Team BAMF has been giving you sense 3.5.

What? The TB can barely handle GB? My Tbolt runs faster on GB than Froyo! I'm using Gingeritis... and used various Bamf builds as well that have been GB based.
I have my doubts about Sense 3.5 running smooth, but as far as GB... no issue at all.

Seems to me They is plural, and Thunderbolt is singular.
I aint no english majer, but seems 2 mee that you are referring to the wrong subject.

HTC plays it very safe with what they will release for phone models. The fact that they will not be pushing Sense 3.0 to the TBolt assures they won't push Sense 3.5. If you want newer s/w than the manufacturer will provide, well, that's why you're here at XDA or TeamBAMF or rootzwiki, right ?

I'm using BAMF SoaB 0.5 now. Soooooooo much smoother than ANY Sense 3.0 ROM by far. It's their first release of a Sense 3.5 port and is my daily driver now.

Yeah, hopefully this allows for a bug-free Gingerbread/Sense ROM on our mt4g's.
I take away two things from this. First, it shows just how much T-Mobile SUCKS. Why they insist on having a fugly, customized (read bastardized) version of Sense on their HTC phones. Second, why they can't come out with a Gingerbread update in a timely manner is beyond me. The EVO will have Gingerbread in two months, and that phone isn't near as powerful and came out long before the MT4G! Rant over.
This is actually awesome news. This could give us the kernel source we've been waiting for forever, in addition to a ROM that can be directly ported (much like the Desire HD ROMs).

I love tmobile's twist on sense, I never stay on another ROM (Cyanogen, Desire ports, or anything) cuz they're not like our stock sense. Even if it compromises speed/memory or something, I doubt it's not much what with all the power our phone has. Just my opinion, so an official tmobile release is gonna be rad!

I noticed the Genius button is gone, back to a plain old search button.
I hope they don't lock down this variant as stringently as the Incredible S. I wonder if there's any hardware differences that'd make it incompatible with a RUU from the MT4G?

I think it has been stated that we would only get sense 2.1 when our GB comes. Plus if you remember the leak did have 2.1.
If I'm not mistaken, the evo has gb now but sense is still the same as it was when the phone came out a year ago. It seems to be HTCs MO to only upgrade sense on newer devices and leave the rest out in the cold.

They've already stated they feel its too CPU taxing for their 1Ghz single core processors. Simple as that. Judging by the reviews of the Sensation's speed/lag they may be on to something for a STOCK CPU tune where they are interested in longevity and reliably as opposed to us rooters who don't mind pushing all the hardware for everything It's worth. From personal experience the 3.0 port/preview NEEDS overclocking to perform well, something that ain't happening in an OTA update.

just adding my two cents. had made a thread earlier and I along with a few others I know and have read about feel that it isn't sense that is causing lag, but the fact that the dual core does not run simultaneously like the tegra 2 and exynos. but like I said, that's just my opinion.
I know I'm in the minority here, but I don't like sense 3.0. It's starting to become distracting to android and not just a skin...

Sense 3.5?

They are working on a Sense 3.5 ROM for the incredible, anyone working on this for the T-Bolt?
We (Team BAMF) are. Not sure if we will stick with it.
I think you should. Sense 3.5 might be different, but it's definitely an improvement. It seems to be running buttery smooth right from the getgo on the Desire HD, unlike Sense 3.0 which not only (apparently) required a lot more work to port, but still ran choppy on even dual-core devices like the Sensation.
Plus, I like the new look. n_n

I never imagined that the 3D UI of 3.0 would be so smooth. I had to go back to Sense 2.1 because every 3.0 rom I tried was so incredibly laggy. The new widgets, improvements to the apps and widgets, improvements in speed, and the rotation animation (something I've wanted ever since I got the OG Droid) definitely make me excited to try it out.

SENSE 4.0 Port

I was wondering if any dev was working on a port of sense 4.0 from the HTC Endeavour RUU leak? I'm going to look into it.
Need ICS for Sense 4.0
I'm sure when the Tbolt gets it's ICS update (however long that might take... probably towards the end of the year if I had to guess ) we will get a Sense 4.0 port working.
We will probably see Sense 3.6 with the official update though.

most stable rom.

hey all, looking to flash the most stable rom for the inspire out there! anyone wanna give me a few good stable roms?
Anything gingerbread is rock solid. ClearDroid and Virtuous Unity are my favorite for Sense and Gingerbeast and Absolution rock if you want to be senseless. The ICS roms are stable enough for daily use but might have small issues that keep them from being the right choice for you. Personally, I love Redemption but there are others that have more active development. I haz not tried jellybean but I would guess that is the same or worse when compared to ICS. You will have to try some out and see what works best for you.

Not necessarily, his phone is the same model, but they aren't the same exact device. Also, that isn't necessarily true, at&t's last update was completely broken and unstable. Any rom in the section was made to work with our phone and can run it just as good as an at&t built rom. Most times better.

I agree that 2.47.502.7 was buggy and I did not like it even when devs re cooked it. As for the last update 3.20.502.52 or even the original Rom they ran flawlessly. And to use roms with these bases was really all I was saying to him. Just stick to roms built off of these for the most stable experience. I've spent quite amount of time unrooted and also running every Rom you could possibly flash on this device and when I am on an actual inspire base every part of the phone runs the way it should ( with the exception of 2.47.502.7). I think we agree, I just meant roms based off stock, not necessarily stock itself.
As for what Rom to run that differs all together. I'm on an Ics sense Rom that was never intended for our device but I'm willing to live with a little instability for more options and Ics

Yes I agree. Gingerbread is most stable. Some dhd base though have minor issues like agps not updating accurately, scanner apps not reading barcodes, battery drain, intermittent WiFi/data issues, Sound problems.. etc. Nothing major though. My favorite dhd base was the sense 3.0 update they got. Runs the smoothest imo. Sense 3.5 and up gets a little clunky.

As stated before, Gingerbread ROMs are generally more stable than ICS ROMs. That said, my favorite is Primo-S v3.5. Its ICS + Sense 4.0A. Its not the most stable mod out there, but extremely stable, enough t be used as a daily driver. The most stable I've tried is of course Cyanogenmod 7. Second is Android Revolution HD.
