[Q] SMS delivery receipts - HTC Sensation

Hi everyone,
I have a Vodafone branded HTC Sensation, stock rom and i'm having an issue i didn't experience with my old HTC Desire, while having SMS Delivery Receipts turned on, in the desire i was not notified via the notification bar and it wouldn't play the notification sound, the icon on the sms thread would change to received and that was it.
With my new HTC Sensation, the receipt is handled like a new sms message, and it plays the notification sound and shows up in the notification bar. Haven't been able to solve this, and everytime i send an sms it's like i have an unread new sms, and i donĀ“t :/

I have the same problem...

I Thought rooting and flashing a new rom would help but, so i gave i a go but the problem remains. Any Ideas?

Use handscent go to option of handscent and select use carrier delivery reports option, uncheck handscent delivery reports.

Weird thing about SMS/MMS-- notifications not received properly

I wonder if anyone encounters this. Or is this normal by design?
rom: wm6.5, HTC's official release for diamond2 in southeast Aisa, WWE.
When the phone is started, Task Manager does not list the program (or process?) SMS/MMS.
In this state, SMS messages can be received normally, with proper notifications I set.
After I reply to a message, tap the cross in the upper right corner of the inbox (native inbox of Outlook), and return to the Home screen, I can never receive message notifications. As soon as I open th inbox again, the notifications all come.
This is strange, since incoming messages can be received, even when SMS/MMS is not listed in Task Manager.
The only explanation can be that the system process incoming messages and delivery notifications in different ways?
I have a HTC Touch, which carries wm6.0. The same thing happens on this phone. I haven't noticed this during the use of HTC Touch in the past year and the use of Diamond2 during the past four months!
Can anyone confirm this?

[Q] SMS Delivery reports

Hi guys,
On my HTC Sensation I have SMS notifications on with devliery reports. However I do not know how to disable notifications for delivery reports and it seems there is no option to do so.
The phone vibrates and sounds the notification when I receive a delivery report and when I receive an SMS/MMS, however I would rather not have any notifications for delivery reports and just SMS/MMS.
Is this at all possible? I've heard of SMS Popup, but I rather like android's notification system. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers
Edit: Found SMS popup to be a brilliant solution to this problem.
Agreed
I was looking for a solution to exactly the same problem when i found your post.
tried sms popup and it solves it, and also allows for other useful things like repeat notifications and a popup which are great too.
Hi,
Do you want to remove the delivery reports or do you just want to remove the sound and vibration and keep the notification in the notification bar?
If you want to remove the delivery reports, it's a setup.
On my phone with Android 4.0.3, I have to:
- Go to the SMS application
- Enter in the parameters section
- Choose SMS or MMS
- Remove the delivery reports
To keep the notification in the notification without the sound and vibration... I don't know

[Q] Is there any possibility to switch off sms report notification only?

Is there any possibility to switch off sms report notification only but leave information about receiving sms in message thread?
I want to have information if my sms was received, but I don't want notification for each sms. It's really annoying.
I also want keep my stock app.
Any solutions?
sorry for my english
I assume you're using a Sense-based ROM - and that you're on about delivery reports showing up in the status bar?
The HTC messaging app is the only app that I know of that insists on putting delivery reports in the status bar, and I agree, it's really annoying. I also think that it isn't possible to silence the notification - if you have delivery reports turned on, you will get a notification for every successfully received message.
I appreciate from your post that you want to keep your stock messaging app, but unfortunately, I can't see any other way than using a Market alternative.
You could always try pulling the default messaging app from an AOSP build on the development forum and replacing it with that. The delivery reports with other messaging apps are quite subtle, and you get small notifications that fade in saying 'Message received by xxxxx.' that fade out again - much less intrusive.

Unfortunately as far as your phone is concerned an SMS is an SMS regardless if its a real incoming message for you or an SMS report notification.
Your phone reacts in the same way.
HTC sense is just basically plain stupid. Talking about Android = Customization.. What a joke.

One S sms bug?

Hello I just picked this amazing phone up yesterday and noticed that for SMS when I select I want delivery notifications on it does not show the messages delivered unless you have receieved sms notification on and then I get dual notifications showing as a check mark (normal) on the SMS I just sent and then I get one in the drop down bar as a notification telling me its successful. And when I turn the received SMS notification off I get no notifications at all for SMS being receieved or sent. But I do get the check mark on the SMS I sent... All I want is when I send an SMS, I want it to show it was delivered successfully with the check mark on the SMS alone. Not with a notification ringtone and drop down notification.
I know it was probably confusing but that's all I want. 2.3 did it no problem. So I know it can be done. Could be sense that's doing it too though.

[Q] SMS delivery report?

Is there solution to have sms delivery report, but not to show notification in statusbar (and not to make sound)?
Now i use app SMS Popup - i turned off stock app notifications, turned on delivery reports (there is no notifications from stock). Sms popup i configured to make notification I like, delivery reports are there but not considered as sms, so no sound or delevery reports in statusbar...is there way without alternative apps...?
Yes there is, use xposed framework & sense 5 toolbox. You need to be rooted.
