Best boot animation manager? - T-Mobile LG G2x

I know this has probably been touched on, bit I can't find through search.
What is the best boot animation manager?

Go to market on your phone, search boot animation and decide for yourself. Just because one of us likes 1 certain app won't necessarily mean you will as well.

Boot Animation Loaders - Looking

I've been searching for quite awhile, found a few that were decent but didn't really fit my needs or what I really wanted for my phone.
So does anyone out here in the XDA know of any good boot animations?
I've tried Boot Animation apps. One didn't work, the other one did but sucked.
Sent from my ADR6300 using XDA App
There's a bunch of them out there. What are you after? What color?
HoneyComb animation? I'm using a honeycomb theme, and adw theme.
Something alot snazzier then the BAC lite app animations.
Sent from my ADR6300 using XDA App
There's a pretty cool honeycomb boot animation that was posted on droid-life a while ago, I'd try searching for that. And I'm not sure why you'd need an app, just make sure the file is named correctly and in the right location. System/media for AOSP and system/customize/resource for sense (I think, idk I don't use sense roms).
There is a huge list here, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1053250 pretty sure the one you are looking for is in there.

[Q] ROM Toolbox

I'm curious what people are doing with it. I usually enjoy tinkering with things, but I'm a bit cautious with ROM Toolbox since trying to get bold fonts to change too I've only managed to boot loop my phone. I see a lot of talk lately about screen resolution, but what else do people like to change? I'm wary of some of the UI options because its disclaimer (and after causing so many boot loops, I don't want to get into something I can't recover from so easily)

I love the toolbox, don't change your screen resolution, google apps and goodies hate that. There are font apps in the market, fontimizer I think us the name, never an issue for me.
If you want a snappier phone get v6 supercharger, I love it.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I727 using xda premium
I use fontimizer currently but to me it seemed with toolbox that you could go to font installer preferences and select and replace individual system fonts one at a time. Of course you would need to know the names of the fonts you are replacing, and like I said since a wrong choice is a soft brick, experimenting is a bit tedious.
What do you use it for though? A sort of "all in one" for ROM manager, tibu, and root browser? What else?
I like the idea of being able to change so much but I don't know how to find out the safe margins for the skyrocket. And the only time I see toolbox mentioned in the threads here is in relation to LCD density.

What would you like to see in a new rom

I have sort of started working on my first real rom and was curious what yo all would like to see. I am thinking that I will base a lot of it off of some of our current stuff like Lithium, SCv5/6 when it comes out, and sonya. (with developer permission of course.) I really like the white on black theme in Lithium. I will also debloat, and remove Motorola stuff. I will probably remove a lot of the stock apps like messaging and browser and replace them with aosp or other equivalents.
What else would you guys like to see, especially if it is not really in any of our current roms. Please don't post something that is only relevant to you, make sure it is something that would be a benefit to others too. (I will consider languages, as long as more than like, 2 people actually speak it. I have seen demand for italian and russian.)
thanks for your input on this.
P.S. also taking ideas for names from those creative people among us.
Well, since you're asking... and this may be beyond the realm of the state of current affairs; I'd LOVE to see a theme changer in a ROM. That way the basics could be laid and the user would have the ability to do what we all love to do with Android. Customize!
The End.

good idea, i'll see what I can do, but not sure if its even possible.
I'm waiting on a stock ics to leak. I've ran cm7 on multiple devices and cm9 on my infuse and I'm burnt out on the cm and aosp side of things. Stock ics is where i am at. Just giving my 2 cents.

if you are planing a dropdown toggle, i would love to see a flashlight in it
I wud love to see white on black background like in s2 and note. And some fonts supported. +d ability to screenshot (which is needed d most)
!

Different style lockscreens would be nice and I'm a +1 on the XDA app already being installed too!
Toggle dropdown, 1% batt
Scrolling in Settings and in listview is smoother, like Samsung SII's ROM
Current stock theme is the best, no need to modify, or stock ICS theme is ok
in my ideal ROM, there would be Beats Audio and Sony Bravia Engine mods, working Accounts app, extreme speed tweaks, and a cool boot animation

There's no way i'm adding beats audio, that kills audio quality big time, but speed tweaks and boot animation for sure.

lol but is it possible to make it so we could turn Beats on or off at will? I think rdavisct had that in Sonya, but I haven't tried it

maybe, I have an uninstaller zip and you can always get the installer from the main thread here on xda, its not device specific. So really all you have to do is flash those to turn it on and off.
+1 for KEB64's built in theme engine suggestion, maybe something like CM7's TMO theme engine.
No CWM backup. ICS or widgetlocker type lockscreen. ROM name=Creatrix
A rom with FLAC support alongside volume rocker buttons when long pressed to change tracks besides volume up/down when playing music.

Whats your favorite feature on your Rooted S3?

While I sit here and contemplate if I should jump ship and unlock my S3, I am curious to know what other rooted users would say their favorite feature/benefit has been since unlocking the phone (compared to what was unavailable on stock). This phone is pretty solid as it is and a complete [email protected]$$ with its performance. I wonder how much better can it get.
What else is there other than running various roms and OC?
Custom recovery is always my favorite feature. I am fearless as long as I don't do anything to hinder my ability to reach recovery. Flash an incompatible kernel and device no longer boots? Holy sh- oh wait no everything's fine since I can restore everything right from the device while I'm nowhere near my PC. Revolutionary!
Custom recovery, google wallet, titanium backup, just to name a few.
The ability to change things in general. Android is open source at heart, which means that I get to buy something and tweak it the why I want it.
Honestly my favorite aspect is simple, toggle mods i love them and first thing i always change on roms
Just getting rid of all the annoying wifi notifications was enough reason to root for sure
Since your question was pertaining to what you can do since we've had boot loader unlocked vs what you could do before, the answer is flash custom ROMs and kernels with much ease and satisfaction. We could before but its much much simpler now. Unlocking this phone is strictly a ROM thing I'd say.
As great as they all are, tibu being my favorite one, everything posted in this thread so far was all possible before unlocking boot loader, and I didn't think that's what you were wanting to know. No offense to anyone.
If the question were about before rooting......the answer would be much much different.

I'd have to say Google Wallet, custom kernels, titanium backup, and different notification toggles
Wallet
Custom ROMS for battery life improvement, remove wifi notifications, overclock CPU
Google wallet and Google now are pretty amazing

All the stuff mentioned, but ad free browsing I also consider a must and modifying the hosts file with a rooted app is the best way to accomplish it.

[Q&A][GENERAL]Tweaked 2.x ICS

Howdy folks -
The main thread should be limited to major error/bug reports and logcats - use this thread for all the general conversation and questions/answers stuffs.
Hope you guys like it!
Downloading now testing shortly! (grumble grumble) ...stupid 8 thanks per day limit...
Ok - just wanted to share this as it was frustrating me and didn't make the 2.0 release... but I managed to figure it out
An early start to 2.1 I suppose...

Same way you do it with stock - you have to open up the app drawer, hit the menu button, then select edit. You may need to switch the view type first - do that, and then you can drag things from the app drawer into the dock and vice versa.
Hey again -
To the few that do try this rom out - feel free to drop suggestions for other things to try and work in (beyond lockscreens of course). While I do have one known (and one unknown) surprise ready, I'd like to get a few more things worked into an update if at all possible. I can't say I'll be able to work in what is suggested, but I'll give it a shot at least
Having an updated tw launcher or a different launcher with the ability to have 5 or 6 apps in the dock would be all that I would ask for. Everything else is fantastic. Thanks for all your efforts.

Yeah I've thought about such things, but I always circle back to the idea that there are so many great 3rd party launchers out there I should let it be to encourage folks to explore those options lol. I also am leery on putting in a launcher that has a pay version or has the whole ask-for-permission hassle (that's not really a hassle), but I'll keep my eyes peeled for something different.
I am of course open to suggestions

Yeah I have run the gambit : holo, zeam, adw, nova... all seem to be missing something that just isn't there or costs 4 bones to have... I'm gonna search through xda as the play store has been a bust. If I find anything I'll post for sure.

Seems a good ROM, thank you. One thing, Google now didn't seem to be there/working for me. I'm not sure if it was supposed to be but I added it without any bother so it's hardly a real issue. Oh also what does the 'swag' button do on quick toggles. It seemed to just take me to download mode. Anyway, thanks again

Google Now should have been working - all the stuff from the referenced link was added for it anyway. How is it different now vs. when you first flashed the ROM? Could you get me a screenshot of what it looks like for you now? Perhaps I missed something...
LOL on the swag toggle - I meant to change how that behaved. The toggle is there for fun only, but to mess with people on the Gingerbread build I had it set to force download mode if you turned it on while auto-brightness is turned on - I forgot to change that, my bad
EDIT: Derp... I see what I forgot... Ok, it will be fixed in 2.1, sorry about that For those not wanting to go and flash anything, all you need to do is delete /system/app/GoogleQuickSearchBox_USA.apk and then reboot and all will be well. My bad.
Google now just wasn't there before. It was standard search. Now I've added it mine looks like this:

Yep - everything in that is already in the rom, I just forgot to remove an apk. D'oh.
First off - thanks to those that have offered some feedback on this, it is very much appreciated. That being said, I know not many have tried this out but I'm getting an update together, so I wanted to ask if anyone has noticed anything else not working quite as they expected or anything that should be changed/added/removed...?
I haven't come across anything I wanna do with the launcher yet, but I have cleaned up a few things in the toggles, Google Now is now working as it should, I fixed another little bug I found when you first turn on wifi after flashing... outside of that is there anything people have found that I should address before updating? No worries if not - like I said not many have tried this out, but I'd like to get all the little issues ironed out before updating if possible.

Hmm... is there an image you can share for this? I'm just not sure if you mean the size/font color of the %, or if its the battery icon itself is what needs to change. Shoot me an image and I'll get on it
