Just wondering, do we have an IRC channel set up anywhere? I don't seem to see one on freenode anywhere (where most of the other XDA-related IRC channels seem to be set up).
If there isn't one, should we make one? It'd be nice to talk about WP7 and the Arrive without getting mocked constantly by all the iOS and Android users.

I have set-up a irc channel for the Sensation. I set it up for a number of reasons. It allows users with issues to stop by the channel and get "instant" help from a dev or more experienced user. For Devs it gives them a place to go to get testers immediately for roms/apps they are working on. We have one for the moto xoom and all the devs come in there when they have things that need to be tested. I know it has made the dev's life easier for the xoom because whenever he needs someone to test there is usually someone available. My goal is to make this channel a great resource for devs, testers and power users to come together and share ideas etc... I'm also looking for a few trustworthy people to become mods in the channel. (Established devs always get mod access)

Are you using webchat? All webchat users are still banned - the reason for this is that it's impossible to ban one without banning them all. Someone was abusing the webchat the weekend after the Rogers release and severely hampering development efforts by spamming the channel repeatedly.
Use a real IRC client such as xChat-WDK for Windows and xChat or Quassel for Linux (don't know what's out there for MacOS) and you SHOULD be OK.
I would recommend Colloquy for MacOS
I tried Colloquy for Mac and could not figure it out.............it asks for server info and other stuff..............I'd love to participate, does anyone anticipate "unbanning" to happen?

Server is irc.freenode.net, the default port should work fine.
I don't think unbanning of webchat will ever happen until someone figures out a webchat solution that allows individual webchat users to be banned.
Is there anyone who has some spare time to create and maintain free irc channel so we can communicate easily? This thread is probably going to fail, but anyway - just suggesting....
Hope this doesn't bother JHutson456/LanternsLight456 but I have been trying to hang out in the #AndroidInsomnia channel on irc.irondust.net and nobody is there!

Get yer fav IRC client pointed to irc.irondust.net type /join #AndroidInsomnia and come hang out! (you have to manually join the channel, cause it isn't listed!!!)

Does someone know of an app like IRC (I know IRC still exist but unfortunally not many users use it anymore) where you can chat live with other people in the channels. Looking for something a lot of people use (which I obviously missed if it exist).
