[Q] Difference Between GTJ61 and GRJ22? - Nexus S Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I was reading this post.
It mentions that GTJ61 is the original Nexus S firmware for the US version of I9020A. It also says that GRJ22 is for the I9020A. Both of these builds are Android 2.3.4. What's the difference between them?
If I want to put my I9020A on Android 2.3.4, which build should I use?

The latest.

grj22 download for stock recovery

OK I'm a total noob here, I mean king of em. I done the manual install of grj90 and I wanna go back to grj22 and get the ota update because someone told me that they had to do the same because the download didn't fix their 3g. My little brothers Hero still dusts my Nexus. I'm ashamed. So anyhow guys I'm looking for a signed 2.3.4 grj22 download I can flash through the stock recovery. Also is base and the radio? I'm not convinced I have the new radio. Mines is d720sprke5. Wasn't that the same as on 2.3.4. If you guys could help me I'd greatly appreciate it

If you find it you will be the first. There is a thread of official stock zips and 2.3.4 for Nexus S 4G is one of the missing ones.

1-Click Root for my nexus s?

Baseband version- I9020XXKD1
HW Version- REV 11
Carrier Info- TMB
It's a mobilicity phone recently purchased, any way of 1click rooting it?
What model i9020? There should be a letter after.

There's not a letter on mine either, just follow adb instructions. First time doing it for me took probably less than 5 minutes. Its a much safer option than one click rooting.

[Q] Can't get OTA updates on Rogers's Nexus S

Hi XNA
I rooted my phone a while ago but now I can't get OTA updates from my phone
It's currently with 2.3.4 but all my coworkers got 2.3.5 update.
Kernel version: 2.6.37.7-ge382d80
Build number: GRJ22
Baseband version: NO DGSXXKD1
Is there a way to make OTA updates work again ? If I go under setting > About Phone > System Updates it says no update available
Thank you
The 2.3.5 was an update for the nexus s 4g. It was never ota for GSM phones.

[Q] Unlock ICS 4.0.4 on T-Mobile IMM76D

To the well respected users, Im Nullbesign (not my real name) lol.
I have google nexus s i9020T that is locked to t-mobile
I would like to know is there any way that i can unlock my phone and use it with other GSM plans? Would i destroy the phone by unlocking it or rooting?
Is rooting also means unlocking?
Here is my phone data from the setting page > about phone
Model Number: Nexus S
Android Version: 4.0.4
Baseband Version: I9020XXKI1
Kernel Version: 3.0.8-g6656123
[email protected] #1
Build Number: IMM76D
Nexus phones are NOT network locked, you can just put in another sim and it will work
Sent from my ice cream powered Nexus S
No you won't destroy your phone by unlocking and rooting. If it did, most of us in the Nexus S forum would have sued Samsung and Google for it

I727R radio and rom???

I took my rogers sg2 lte i727R to a guy who I'm assuming flashed a telus radio. I had him do this that I can use it on WIND mobile and it works 100% on WIND. My question is can I upgrade to ics or even a custom rom without losing or disabling what he did.
model number
sgh i727r
android version
2.3.5
baseband version
T989DTLKJ3
kernel version
2.6.35.11
build number
GINGERBREAD.RUXKJ7
I'm also wondering if there is a different radio or modem, whatever it may be that I can flash that would work a bit better than this one. Thanks guys.
