[Q] Can't get OTA updates on Rogers's Nexus S - Nexus S Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi XNA
I rooted my phone a while ago but now I can't get OTA updates from my phone
It's currently with 2.3.4 but all my coworkers got 2.3.5 update.
Kernel version: 2.6.37.7-ge382d80
Build number: GRJ22
Baseband version: NO DGSXXKD1
Is there a way to make OTA updates work again ? If I go under setting > About Phone > System Updates it says no update available
Thank you

The 2.3.5 was an update for the nexus s 4g. It was never ota for GSM phones.

Android 2.3.6

I just picked up a Nexus S i9020a and it's currently running 2.3.4
I was under the impression that there was an update to 2.3.6 but when I go into settings and check for updates it says that I am up to date.
Anyone else still running 2.3.4 and will it have any effect on being able to get ICS when it comes out?
When I bought mine (I9020T) 2 months ago , immediately when I put my T mobile SIM and powered it on it said "update available 2.3.6" , but as I said that was the I9020T on t mobile...Not sure about the AT&T thing

It shouldn't have an impact on getting the ICS update (when it comes). Have you tried doing a manual check-in to see if the update comes up that way?

Yes sir, I entered the code on the dial pad and it says checkin successful, but still no update.

[Q]Just got a Nexus S

Just got a Nexus S for school and from what I can tell there is supposed to be an ICS OTA update but its not finding it.
It's currently on 2.3.6 and it doesn't have a SIM (University property, I only get to use it for development) so I'm only on wifi. Does anyone know why it won't update to ICS? I don't want to download the .zip because there are about 10 other people who are in the class and I don't want to try to explain to them how to update.
Its not official out yet as far as I'm aware (I have a nexus s 4g though and am not to sure about the other models...) Have you tried settings/about phone/system update!

Yeah. It says its up to date on 2.3.6. I just thought that ICS was official.
google hasn't pushed the ics update for i9020A
The ICS update for the NEXUS S has been slated for sometime in MARCH. The OTA update is what I'm talking about. —KID ANDROID
Yea google is really slacking with the i9020a OTA... thank goodness for the xda-devs though the roms here are better anyways
According to the Google Announcment they had been halted the ICS update For the Nexus s . Firlst they said ICS update will be on 2011 December 16.But For Some Some reason They had halted the updating processes of the Nexus s
But Their Lot of Unofficial Custom roms If you want to taste the ICS You can try them
I think this will helpful for you
Thanks all. Does anyone know if the ota located here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1395828
is for i9020a and will it receive OTAs in the future?
i m using nexus s i9023 and i already got an update in decmbr..
cant say about i9020a.
If you just bought your Nexus S then updating your handset with something other than the official ota update will void your warranty. I'd just wait till the update comes ota in MARCH which will be 4.0.5 I'm sure it will be worth the wait as I've heard they have fixed everything that was wrong and added a couple new things to it. We've waited this long, what's a couple more weeks. —KID ANDROID

Does anyone get the 4.0 OTA of Nexus S GSM in this month but not Nexus S 4G?
I mean this OTA is mobile told you but not updated manually.
Which version of 4.0 OTA do you get? (4.04 or 4.05)
Thank you

Forgive my bluntness but why don't you just flash 4.04 since you did 4.03 without issue earlier?
The only reason I'm not is because I had a rather terrible experience last time I was flashing around and was lucky to get my phone back to stock.

Just got my 4.04 OTA update! installed and working! Finally ICS! (Update from 2.36GB)

4.0.4 OTA

OK I have a question. I manually upgraded my OS to 4.0.4 IMM30B, but now I'm wondering if I will still get the IMM76K OTA update or if it only recognizes an available update for 4.0.2.
If I don't get the 4.0.4 IMM76K update, is there a way for me to get it manually? Or downgrade to 4.0.2 so that I can get the update OTA? Thanks in advance
