Rom manager? - HTC Sensation

I remember reading a thread about installing the recovery through it, and it being unstable. Is this still the case? I'm still on the first release that came out with the soff tool.

I think he means, you need recovery as it was PRE-ClockworkMod. Any threads?
(correct me if I'm wrong)
Then that's a different matter altogether. Will need to figure that out. Does that involve unrooting the device after recovery?

I'm going to do this tomorrow to update. It should work.
So did it work
- Backup everything using CWM and Titanium Backup.
- Install the RUU to get back to Stock Recovery. (You'll loose all settings/apps/SMS/etc..)
- Install your OTA update.
- Restore everything using Titanium Backup.
This should work for any of you who has CWM Recovery. If you already have Stock Recovery, then you're ready to go. You don't need to flash a new rom by the RUU.
It's not the root that is causing the problem, it is the CWM Recovery.
Keep in mind, flashing a RUU may brick your device, I take no responsibilities of any damage that may be caused to your device
I just discovered a new method, tried it and it worked.
Take a look at this.

[Q] Which device do we choose on ROM Manager??

Which device do we choose when flashing a RECOVERY... the my touch 4g slide is not on the list??
THE MT4GS is NOT supported by Rom Manager. Do NOT choose ANY of the devices.

We need the s-off, root and recovery threads to be stickied. Why is that taking so long to happen?
Sent from my MyTouch 4G Slide using xda premium
So should we remove Rom Manager from the phone until it makes the list?
Btw...thanks for the info.
You can still use rom manager to boot into recovery after you have it installed

An ruu is a rom update utility. Basically u plug ur phone in and click start. The ruu flashes the phone back to stock.

Use this link it will take you through the whole process of unrooting and putting a phone back to a stock rom. Since I can't post any http information you will have to add that or google the information.

[Q] Is ROM Manager necessary?

Hi all,
I have a Sensation Z710e running AR HD 4.1.13, Sense 3.5
I have both ROM Manager and 4EXT on the phone but lately the ROM Manager keeps asking to force close for some reason
So is it necassary to have to have both of them on the phone?
Or is there a way that it can be fixed?
Tia, maff
You Don't need ROM Manager. I assume you have 4EXT recovery?
Yes I have 4EXT on the phone
Stop using ROM Manager, it's much better to learn what you're doing manually so you understand what's actually happening
+1 although CWM here, same difference.
Sent from my HTC Sensation Z710e using XDA App
I've never used rom manager.
I stop using Rom Manager and Cwr when I changed to 4ext

Everyone is talking about that recovery is it as easy to install as cwm ?? I might just get that

There's a free app in the market. 4ext recovery control, you can download the app and install the recovery through the app if you are rooted. The paid app is better and has more features, it's worth supporting the development of this recovery. It is so much better than CWM, IMO. Some ROM chefs include it in their ROMS. There's a thread over in development section, plenty of support from the developer.
