As the title says I'm having a problem with receiving text messages. But here's the thing, I will get most of my messages. For example yesterday I didnt receive two, and the day before was the same thing I didnt receive one message. I noticed this about 2 or 3 weeks ago. The reason why I know I'm not receiving any is because I told a couple friends about my problem, and if for some reason I'm not answering back or I ask the question again, they will say they sent me a message.
But its not like I'm not receiving any messages, it just happens to be 1 or 2 every now and then. I dont get whats wrong.
Is it T-mobile?
My nexus S?
My ROM? (NS Collab 1.0.12)
My Kernel? (Netarchy 1.3.0.0)
Anyone else experiencing something similar??
I had this same problem. Was never able to figure out what it was, but flashing to a stock rom or near stock rom solved it.

What ROM were you running before? The ROM I'm using is based off of CM7 nightly #28 right now
CM7 or CM7-based.

In the dialpad enter *#*#4636#*#*
Select phone information.
You need to re-enter the SMSC Carrier number for your carrier in Hex.

Sorry. I'm not to phone savvy when it comes into this detail.
So I am running the latest release of Das BAMF 2.0 and I got a call from my supervisor the other night during a TV show I was watching, so I let it go to voicemail. Well he left me a voicemail, but I didn't get a notification for it until some 12-15 hours later. Thankfully I texted him to ask what he wanted, or I would have been in a lot of trouble . Anyone else have any issues with this?
Yep, I have the same issue.
I had that happen but seems it was only a one-time thing. I have been getting my voicemail notifications right on time after the call comes in ever since that one time.
Does this seem to be a consistent thing or was that the only time it happened? Might be isolated like my experience. I've had this happen on other phones to, I just assumed it was a glitch on VZW's network.
I'm on BAMF 2.0-4.01 with the "modded test7" kernel and the GB radio
voicemail issues
I have similar issues, I received the voicemail after restarting the phone, I didn't even know I had a voicemail...also, after listening the message, the voicemail icon doesn't disappear. It happen the last two days, consistently.
Same problem here. It will show up or clear after a reboot but no other time.
Running BAMF ginger sense preview 4, and the MR2 radio. I have tried a few roms and it seems to be an issue with the radio.
just go to stock verizon voicemail no problems there
Not quite sure what you mean. I'm not using visual voicemail or anything like that, thanks.
I just posted this same problem on the Bamf 3.0 RC4 thread. I have had this happen several times where I don't get the voicemail notification until after I reboot, and then the icon never goes away until after a reboot.
Same issue on GingerRemix 2.1

It happens on all GB roms. You can either pay $6/mo to use the vzw voicemail app, or reboot phone when you miss a call. I'm cheap, so I'll settle for the latter

Or use Google voice

Or instead of rebooting you can just manually check your voicemail if you missed a call. That is what I do

Before I had rooted my phone (Evo 4g - 2.3.3) I would get the phantom voicemail but there was an update of some sort to stop that. I rooted and flashed Cyanogen 7 mod and now the phantom voicemail returns.. Sorry if this has been posted before but I'm kinda new here and I'm sending this from my phone on the xda app. Is there anything I can do to prevent this random voicemail other than just deleting the notification?

Call your voicemail?
I've had an issue once where my voicemail was bugged. Calling it would bring me to nothing (no tone, nada) and the notification would randomly popup even after I dismissed it. Calling back my voicemail at some point and deleting the message fixed it somehow.

Don't know how your voicemail works, but mine I have to call my phone number to get to it. Holding the 1 key to call voicemail gave me a similar error.

If you go to settings, then call settings, what is your voicemail service set to? Carrier or Google Voice? If it's the first one, in voicemail settings you can change the voicemail number to the one you should be using.
I have changed the number and still receive that notification that I have voicemails :/

Have you been able to get into your voicemail though? As I said earlier, my notification would popup randomly as long as I didn't listen to the message in my voicemail.

That's probably the source of your problem. I'd call your carrier to inquire about what's going on.

So, a couple days ago my phone started to not receive any pictures what so ever, and im unable to send them, they will only send if i put a letter for the subject, will not send with just the picture.....people told me they have sent me pictures and none have shown up at all, i do not use wifi and yes my data is turned on, im unsure of what the problem is....i did a factory reset and nothing, cache/dalvik wipe still nothing, changed roms and still nothing, now running aokp ics with kg4 modem and changing to hefe kernel here shortly, any help would be appreciated

Never had good luck sending picture messages with this phone, even on stock. Only thing that does it, sometimes, is to have someone send me a picture message first, then i send one back, then it works. But that's rare and inbetween. I ditched my data plan, so I don't care for it now. I'll email it if it's that important to share and use wifi. lol.
It was fine a couple days ago, then all of a sudden it started doing this....

Check your apn.
Sorry, apn? I just know how to switch roms etc, know nothing about the other stuff as apn and what not

Google apn with your carrier name in front of it. For me it would be att apn.
From curiosity, what would apn have to do anything with not receiving pictures or being able to send them?
Edit: i searched it, my apn is fine, if it makes any sense, i sent myself a picture, it didnt come through, it only came through when i put a subject, as only i receive it when i send myself it, no one else receives the picture i send them, even if it has a subject

Stands for access point name ie it controls access to the data network. Without the right apn settings mms won't work.

When your changing roms do factory reset... Wipe dalvik and cache... Then format system. Its just good practice.
I see you said you are using stock mms.... If your Internet is working then most likely its something Tmo might have to fix.

If you're running any rom that uses my aroma installer the wipes get done for you. If you want a totally clean install it's better if you opt for NOT doing a /data backup during installation.
As a test for mms you can try to send yourself an mms and see if you receive it. If you do then mms definitely works.

Yeah it might be an APN issue but you'd be one of the first people reporting this issue so I would call up t-mobile and tell them you can't send picture messages, pretty much what you stated here.
If you do go to t mobile. You might have trouble getting help with a custom Rom. They are not going to support custom firmware.
