Your favorite Live Wallpapers? - Xperia Play Themes and Apps

Hey everyone,
Browsing through the marketplace or a website for Live wallpapers is a pain, and I'd like to have a lot more than I currently do. How about you guys share some of your favorites? Maybe even include a mobile friendly link if you're feeling frisky?
Thanks!

I use 'wallme'.
You set folders in your gallery to be set as a wallpaper sideshow.
Many options available such as duration, transition, zoom, fade etc.

Android Sparkle LWP

Aquarium is nice the free version doesn't let you customize how many/what type of fishes and other things but it's pretty cool IMO.

Ive always loved Light Grid Pro's hexagon style

Oh man Light Grid is amazingly mesmerizing, and so customizable its crazy.

i've been using video live wallpaper for ages now. my fav has always been this video of the internal working clock. it fills up the whole screen with moving gears similar to what you would inside the watch. what i normally do is go to youtube and download a vid of my choice. this way i can always keep changing my wallpaper. i have mirror lights, particles, ink on water, the beach, rain, pug licking my screen, etc.

Can you explain in a little more detail how you rip these YouTube videos to be able to use them as wallpapers?

pretty easy. i don't have the link right now as it's in my laptop at home. but basically you can google it and several websites come up for saving youtube clips. what happens is you open the site in one window/tab. in another tab you have youtube open. so say you typed in the search field (of youtube) for clockwork. several video clips will come up. click on one and copy the http address as seen in the field above. paste this into the search field of the youtube video download site. once clicked, you'll get several format opitons. by far the most common are mp4 and flv. fortunately, video wallpaper plays both. save the file and transfer it to your phone.
from your phone, open video wallpaper. go to the menu screen and choose the video you want to play. presto! instant wallpaper.
btw, i noticed that some wallpapers are off-centered. if you're using adw launcher, click on the menu and bring up scrolling wallpaper option. this way you can choose which parts of the video wallpapers shows what detail. i think this should work as well with the default launcher.
hope that helps.

Video player widget

It would be cool if there was a video player widget for our evos. We can watch a video from sd card and scroll through homescreens .
What do you guys think?
That would be neat. It shouldn't be too hard considering you can do it with pictures.

I wouldn't know how to do it but I'm hoping devs will consider this idea. We can only put music and picture widgets but forgetting videos too
Anyone have any ideas? I would love to see this happen
Widgets are not made to be updated with video. HTC widgets in Sense are a bit different though.
A standard Android widget can use an ImageView, but is restricted to only a few other types of views. It cannot use a VideoView. In other words it can display a picture but cannot do full video.
I've never looked at Sense closely enough to see if we can access their extended widget. It may be that there is a way if you wanted the widget to only work on Sense.
maybe im a little confused, do you want it to be playing the video when you are on the widgets screen? ugh cool I guess but my god the lag and irritation of hearing the sound everytime you go passed it would be annoying <to me> but i guess it'd be cool

UFC and Captivate possible?

Hi everyone is this possible? I have a picture file that moves which is a knock out video. Can I run it in my phone background as live wallpaper? If so how?
Thanks
You can use a video file as a live background using "Video Live Wallpaper", which is available from the market. It is a free app and works reasonably well with anything I have thrown at it (including video you shoot with the built-in camera). Hope this helps.

floating video player?

Just got my note a few days ago...in many YouTube videos I see people showing off a floating video player but I can't find it anywhere
You can make the stock video player float. But the ultimate floating media player app is "StickIt". Made by the same people who created "Overskreen" floating browser. They also make air calc. The floating calculator. They were the first on Android with floating apps, resizeable screens just like on a pc. You can have several different websites and videos playing at once on same screen. Add that to stock note multiscreen/multitasking and you have a multitaskking beast. The stickit and overskreen browser are well worth the price. Nothing compares to them.

The only thing I see with stickit is that you can't play video files from the network streaming them can you? With the stock player I can. How can I make the stock player float?
Actually some streaming stuff does work through stickit. Like YouTube and other sites
But to make stock video player float, there should be little icon up top. Like a square with a little arrow on its corner or something. Its one of those little icons on the top. Once you press it, screen gets small and goes into floating mode. Same thing if you open up browser, then press multiscreen and choose video player. Then on video player side, youcan press the icon to make it float instead of split screen.
I'm pretty sure the stock floating apps on the original galaxy tab 10.1 were first but stick it is nice. But the nice thing about the stock app is that you can go back and forth between full screen and floating, I wish stick it could do that.

I use supervideo from the market which can float any video, to stream from external sites such as you tube, you need to get the in app purchase to enable it. This app also allows you to maximise the video when needed to full screen.
I've added a screen shot for the native player that shows what you need to click to float the video.

Well...I have no idea how or why but I'm missing that button. Any ideas?
Here is the screenshot
When I use the player and float it, it then disappears, except for being listed in the tasks. I can switch to it but it disappears again.

Got it to work, but only with the helicopter video.

Figured it out. The button to float isn't there when playing back network videos. I I do have the button when playing videos from the note. No idea why they exclude networked content from floating really dumb.
Thanks. At least there's an explanation. Does suck.

Viewing Downloaded SBS Video?

I downloaded a few SBS videos, but the video player doesn't recognize them as 3D...
Anyone have hints or is there a setting to forve 3D mode?

Found this a few weeks ago;
play the movie using the Gallery app. Click on the little 3D icon at the bottom right of the screen. The movie will still show side by side, but will enter 3D mode.
Click the Android options button (the icon looks like a solid box inside a clear box at the bottom left of your phone) and you will get the following options:
Click on the 3D Formatter option. It will provide you with a number of 3D options including Left/Right, Right/Left, Top/Bottom and Fullscreen 3D. Select Left/Right (first option on the left,A message will appear that says: “This 3D data is saved as valid 3D contents with the formatter which you’ve chosen“. From that point on, the phone will recognize this movie as 3D and the little 3D icon will appear at the bottom of the movie. The good news is, as soon as you launch it, the movie will run in 3D.
Enjoy your movie!

If you remove your battery or hard reboot, you have to repeat this procedure as the phone "forgets" this setting.
Good luck, keith
This doesn't seem to work for me. Neither Gallery nor 3D Gallery has the option to go 3D for the movies, except movies I have shot with camera itself.
This is frustrating

If the sbs videos are compatible they will display as side by side videos i.e two identiical frames. While the video is playing touch the screen press pause and press the 2D/3D on screen icon, press the menu button on the bootom of the phone and from the pop up select 3D formatter. touch the sbs icon on the bottom of the selector and all should then be O.K
Yep, this is definitely what I've been attempting to do.
The video appears side by side (for reference it is a LG Demo video) but alas, no 3D button...
Like none. No button.
Would this be a resolution thing?

So I finally got some time to screw around with this and nothing works.
I mean literally nothing. I'm starting to think I have to upload the Video to Youtube, then re-download it to get it to work on this phone, and that's a far stretch.
Can someone actually post screens on how this is done? I am starting to think that the 3D capability of this phone is just B.S. if you can't import files to it.
One other thing I'd like to mention, the programs to which the tutorials suggest aren't the same version or appear to have a different UI and/or presets missing from them.

Are you running FROYO? Stock ROM?
I am running this ROM:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1963847
Maybe it is a different Gallery/Video Player?
The ICS video player seems to be unchanged from the gingerbread version. I have Used the method I described in earlier post to get sbs video to work correctly on stock rom . The ROM you are on may be different, maybe if you post a thread in the rom's own thread some help may be found there. You could ask for a download for the video player from there or a link to a compatible player. Sorry I can't be more help.
Good luck.
3d vids
I use 3dvplayer to play all of my 3d content. It's superb. Even plays top/bottom 3d vids. It may solve your problem.

Thanks for the replies, I haven't given up quite yet. I'll try this otherwise I'll revert back to stock.

This App works well. Way better than trying to mess around with trying to make the stock junk work.

Happy to be of service. Have you checked out the video section on the app ? Lots of vids to watch and download. :good:
I did. Interesting. Lots of them are in Chinese (obviously).
They need a good crowd sourced translation team to get their program up to snuff.

Video Wallpapers You Can Download

Looking for a good app that actually lets you download the wallpapers instead of just set them. I downloaded a couple from Pinterest & another app called Rad Walls which are 80s Retrowave style wallpapers. But a lot of apps won't let you download them even if you've watched ads for them.
Any suggestions?
