Just got my note a few days ago...in many YouTube videos I see people showing off a floating video player but I can't find it anywhere
You can make the stock video player float. But the ultimate floating media player app is "StickIt". Made by the same people who created "Overskreen" floating browser. They also make air calc. The floating calculator. They were the first on Android with floating apps, resizeable screens just like on a pc. You can have several different websites and videos playing at once on same screen. Add that to stock note multiscreen/multitasking and you have a multitaskking beast. The stickit and overskreen browser are well worth the price. Nothing compares to them.

The only thing I see with stickit is that you can't play video files from the network streaming them can you? With the stock player I can. How can I make the stock player float?
Actually some streaming stuff does work through stickit. Like YouTube and other sites
But to make stock video player float, there should be little icon up top. Like a square with a little arrow on its corner or something. Its one of those little icons on the top. Once you press it, screen gets small and goes into floating mode. Same thing if you open up browser, then press multiscreen and choose video player. Then on video player side, youcan press the icon to make it float instead of split screen.
I'm pretty sure the stock floating apps on the original galaxy tab 10.1 were first but stick it is nice. But the nice thing about the stock app is that you can go back and forth between full screen and floating, I wish stick it could do that.

I use supervideo from the market which can float any video, to stream from external sites such as you tube, you need to get the in app purchase to enable it. This app also allows you to maximise the video when needed to full screen.
I've added a screen shot for the native player that shows what you need to click to float the video.

Well...I have no idea how or why but I'm missing that button. Any ideas?
Here is the screenshot
When I use the player and float it, it then disappears, except for being listed in the tasks. I can switch to it but it disappears again.

Got it to work, but only with the helicopter video.

Figured it out. The button to float isn't there when playing back network videos. I I do have the button when playing videos from the note. No idea why they exclude networked content from floating really dumb.
Thanks. At least there's an explanation. Does suck.

Since the new Youtube App was released (with the minimize video feature), I can't for the life of me figure out how to get to the Video info screen to upvote/downvote or read comments. Both arrows just minimize the video and tilting the Shield sideways does nothing.
I rolled back to the previous version of Youtube and if I tilt the Shield sideways, I can get to that screen and read comments, see related videos, etc. From the video itself, I can like/dislike using the menu key in the top right.
I'm sticking with the old version for now, but does someone know something I don't? Am I missing something with the new version, or is it pretty much impossible to do anything besides WATCH the video?

have you set the Shield to auto-rotate in the settings?
issues i've HAD with youtube, is that it doesn't stream well connected to some wifi. like at my work, i can't really run HD. Or if tethered to my phone, streaming will keeping trying to buffer every few sec/min.

It's definitely on because it rotates with the older Youtube app.

but the new app won't rotate? i've noticed, rotation on Shield doesn't work very well...i'd have to kinda tap the whole device to get it to acknowledge. Lemme try it right now.
k here's a pic, on my screen it shows thumbs up/down...i was able to scroll through the comments too

Odd. Mine wouldn't do that last night until I rolled back to the previous version of Youtube. I will have to try again.
Hi, i bought your app and it's fantastic but i have some suggest.
1) We display the last watched movie and finished movies in*different color.
Would be nice to enable or disable it or set the colors.
2) When i close the app and it keep going play audio if i go on the notification panel i can pause and play, go to next video or close the app.
Would be nice go to previous video too.
3) I open the app, i choose a video and i play it. I go back to the list and i have 3 button on top: refresh, play and search.
If i want to stop the video i have to press the play button (it take you to the video) and stop from there.
Would be nice if the play button would pause and play the video and create a new button than take you back to the video.
4) I use your player to play video music in car.
Would be nice slide next or previous video by air gesture (just moving my hand left or right above sensor of my Samsung S4 in landscape and portrait mode).
Thank you
Regarding #4, since that's a feature of the Samsung TouchWiz launcher, I don't think it can be included in external non-Samsung apps.

Yes it can:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2351974
And others 3 points?
I definitely don't think the developer would develop Air gestures directly into the app; that's just asking too much of him. In terms of making it somehow compatible with that Hovering Controls app, I don't know if that's possible and will let the developer answer.
The other 3 points, up to the developer. I'm just commenting on point #4 as it's the least straight-forward. @bleu8888
Hi,
1. It will be improved on MX 2.0
2. It is already possible if you switch screen to portait mode. Let me think about changing UI to show "previous button" even on landscape screen.
3. Let me think about this option.
4. Let me try it. If it works, it will be supported on MX 2.0
Thanks

Hi,
Does the S6 Gallery app allow you to share/view your pics and videos on your DNLA TVs? I have a Sony TV with DNLA and I can currently share using the "screen" button at the top of the image/vid.
Not even sure if this is a Lollipop feature or a Samsung Gallery app thing. Assumed the latter as Quickpic doesn't allow this.
Thanks
There is something flaky with DLNA and this phone. I have a Panasonic smart tv with an Xbox One hooked to it. I used to hit that button in any app and have the choice of the TV or the Xbox. Now, YouTube videos only allow me to send to my TV, and gallery stuff or stuff playing in the Video app only allows me to send to the Xbox. It's bizarre and annoying.

Well I have my 64GB S6 now and I do have the option to share the media (photos and video) via my DNLA TV as you can see from my attached share menu below. when I tap, I can choose the TV there. However, I cant be sure if this is built in to TW or Lollipop or part of the BubbleUpnP app I have installed. Whatever way, it's MUCH faster at sharing/casting to the TV than my old S4 was. Very happy.
Hope it helps some and would appreciate it if you can see if it is available to you without the need of BubbleUpnP... I dont want to uninstall now I have it!
I have problem to send video and photo 0n my smart tv samsung with the samsung apps
But i tryed imediashare on playstore and it works perfect with this app
Yes, that is what I use in some apps because the other icon doesn't appear.
on my vidoes i dont have option to send to my xbox one however my pictures work fine from gallery

found this while searching out the problem
Actually Samsung has made a change to quick connect on the S6 edge. Quick Connect will play music to your DLNA device now ONLY if you use Samsung's music app. Try this open Samsung's music app and start playing a song, then swipe down from the top and tap on "Quick Connect" and you will see and be able to play to your DLNA device. Now close the Samsung music app, open the google music app and follow the same steps as before. You will now notice that "Quick Connect" has lost its ability to locate your DLNA device! Not happy Samsung.
For videos, I think you need to do what Soopuk shows in that screenshot up above. You hit the Share button, then one of the options is "View Content On." I'm not at home right now to confirm, but I believe that allowed me to send video to the Xbox One.
mxplayer is the best player..i have seen around.. i did like to see a new feature i.e floating window on the player that would be very great so that we would be able to watch video even when we r multitasking
Already in to do list

If I may....is there a way to have options to add connections to the various cloud drives i.e Mega, Onedrive, Google Drive, Yandex, Box, etc....oh and youtube too ^_^... so we can play/stream music or video that way directly vs having the extra apps on just too? I could open my cloud storage and just play that way but, for me, i really only use cloud storage for my tons of music and videos...adding them to MX player would def be nice to have and it'd be, pretty much "a one stop" video player.
P.S....sorry i saw this quick without having to go fully into the forum and asked a quickie....i am sure there is a dedicated thread for feature requesting lol...i was just being lazy. My apologies
....open in editor mode? The wife’s is the same and the only way open videos so that you have the usual controls is to click the three dots on the bottom right and chose open in video player.
I’m sure it only happened since the last update. If i need to use the editor I will switch to it but that is rear. Can it be forced to open in player at the start?
Best regards,
Considering there are no replies at all, I may not have explained the problem properly.
When I click to open a video, it opens as the first picture. I then have to click the 3 dots on the bottom right to open it in video player (picture 2), that takes me to picture 3. I never before had to go through these steps before, it always used to open in the video player first. Am I the only one with this problem?
Hope someone can help.

I'm trying to understand, why you opening videos via Gallery app.
(i presume it's via Gallery app)
Have you got the Samsung Video Library app also installed.
You have to, to view videos directly.!
Link...
Samsung Video Library - Apps on Google Play
You can browse and play video content.
play.google.com
All you do is, open video directly from this app. Even hover S pen over video to get preview video.
See screenshots
Good luck.

The reason for that is because I always opened it from galley and it had, till recently, opened in video player, which is Samsung Video Library. Also, if you have any videos in the secure folder, you have no choice of opening it in video player unless you go through the extra clicks. That is the reason for looking somehow to force videos to open in Samsung Video Library from gallery as it used to do. Hope that makes sense.
Thank you to taking time to answer.

Thanks for explaining. I understand.
For me the Samsung Gallery app (video)
is now intended (actually been, quite some time now) if you either want to edit a video or set a video as Lockscreen wall.
Bottom line,
as i see it Samsung does not actually see Gallery app, as video player, as such....anymore.!
Only linking it (hiding) access in Gallery app settings.
So your choice is,
either use the Samsung Video library or bear the extra taps.!
Good luck.
