GB update?

Any word on when att will push out the GB update? I hear sometime this summer but didn't know if anyone has heard of a specific date.

Nope, nothing definite yet. You'll know it is getting close when you see a leaked ROM come up as a story on the tech sites, as you see with most other phones who get their updated ROMs leaked.

+1. Usually you'll see an article on Android Central or Phandroid when one leaks.

I hear ya on that! A leaked ROM would tell me that it is in the pipeline and would be released in a couple, or a few months afterwards. After seeing all the other HTC phones get leaks of gingerbread, (Evo, Evo Shift, Desire, Desire HD, and Thunderbolt), getting official announcements, or actually receiving the updates, I'm wondering where our leak is. I'm not complaining, just would like to see a leak soon to know it is coming. I just would like us to get word of a leaked ROM, preferably before they officially announce the rumored Holiday. Especially since the Holiday is gonna be my next phone after I hit my upgrade.

There was a leaked ROM for the unbranded DHD a weeks or so ago. Surprised I haven't seen any ROMs based on it yet. I've been running it for a week or so and it seems super stable.

Hmm, I will need to wait to see if I get one in the mail. This could mean an upgrade slightly sooner. Trying to decide between G2x and Sensation. Really like the G2x more, but I'm just worried about quality and reliability.

Is every customer getting one? I didn't see any criteria in the link?

Yeah IDK if every customer is getting one, that would be a **** load of money but hey, their getting brought out so maybe they don't care.

It's only a $25 gift card but anything helps and I would wait for Samsung phone, should be out next month if not September! If your still waiting I'll sell you my g2x

Got mine today! Not too shabby, although Sprint gives me more $$ in discounts per month than this...
Sprint coverage sucks if I leave the Cities, but I really cant complain with unlimited mobile to mobile minutes, unlimited 4g data, and yearly upgrades for $52/mo

Yeah I wonder how they selected who gets one. I'm sure their not sending it to everyone.

It's a downgrade in hardware. But I guess its down to whether you like IOS or Android. I can tell you my brother has an iPhone 4 and is jealous of my inspire.

I can tell you that I was a long time iPhone user and had a iPhone 4 that I sold to get my inspire and I'm happy with my decision.
IMO, you could sell that iPhone and get a better newer phone as the inspire great as it is, is still old hardware.

Hey an2ane, this is an HTC Inspire Developmental forum. It isn't here for discussion of whether to trade your phone for an iphone. It isn't here for you to ask what the sucessor of the Inspire will be. And as you already found out by your first thread being closed by a moderator, it isn't here to talk about your upgrade. There are already enough of these useless threads on this forum.
What this forum is for is to discuss the development of the HTC Inspire. So if you want to root, install custom ROMs, aid in the development of these custom ROMs, theme, customize, discuss issues, or discover apps to do things with this phone then please utilize this forum to it's fullest.

S2lte Holiday Pricing

I'm getting someone a phone for Christmas and it's between the Skyrocket (really S2 lte here in Canada) or the S3. Here's my problem: I can get the S3 for zero dollars thru futueshop, but they are also having a deal where you can get an S2Lte for zero as well WITH a $150 gift card bonus.
Which is the better deal?
On one hand, the S3 is the newer device, but on the other, the S2 LTE is still relevant and that gift card is tempting
Which would you pick?

+1 worth the roms we have out now, I don't notice a big difference between my rocket and my wife's s3. Plus, for $150, you can get yourself something nice too
