Ice Cream Sandwich Launcher - XPERIA X10 Themes and Apps

I was browsing the General Android Apps and Games section and came across the unofficial Ice Cream Sandwich/2.4 Launcher:
http://syndicateapps.com/ICS/v0.1.0.0/ICS_2.4_Launcher.apk
It is in alpha so refer to the below thread for Q&A.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1268003
Working well on the X10 and I gotta say I like it.
Something new to play with so have fun!
Information from Sydicateapps:
"We built this launcher based off the leaked screen shots of 2.4. But unfortunately there is not enough information or leaks about ICS, so you may find the launcher incomplete or empty! BUT don't worry, as more info and screenshots come out we will update the launcher to make it feel more like the real ICS. But in till then, this is maybe as close as you will get!
You may notice in the launcher that some of it feels like Honeycomb, but that is because we built the launcher from our Honeycomb Launcher. We used the Running Apps menu for the launcher since we don't know what the ICS running apps menu really looks like."

It only says that because it is based on sydicateapps' honeycomb launcher.
I haven't tried it out yet but it looks interesting.

Ice Cream Sandwich and Go Launcher

I want to use Go Launcher on my Samsung Galaxy Nexus, but I love the default ICS theme. But the reason for me wanting to use Go Launcher is the added functionalty and widgets, however, is it not possible to keep the ICS design intact? I've tried some of the ICS Go Themes, but they're not good enough/close enough to the real ICS. Is there any themes out there for Go Launcher that actually is 100% the same as the default ICS? Or is it stupid to use a ICS theme for an already Android 4 mobile?
I guess you should just use go launcher with any theme you like, dude, you already have ICS!!! You dont need theme.

DesireS Launchers

Flash cm7 into my DesireS and got adw.launcher
Then installed go.launcher from market, it seems to run smoother, especially when scrolling through app drawer.
Any1 experience this as well?
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Well let's sum it up with all the replies on this thread.
If you are tired of looking at the same launcher and want something different
without having to flash a whole different rom everytime u get bored you could try the following.
Action Launcher
ADW
Apex
FTL
Go Launcher
Holo
Nova
Nemus
Many of the above gives you an 'ICS feel' except for adw,ftl and go.
Or if you want something like Win 8 might be ur liking.
*You can always force stop(freeze with TB) built in launcher if you are worried about it taking up ur ram.
FTL, try that!

+1
Or go the whole hog and install Reaper ROM
What launcher do you need? Feature rich of fast? First - Go Launcher, second - ADW or FTL.
Apex is also good but FTL is the best choice in terms of speed and customization.

FTL for me everytime
have tried ADW and Go launcher but FTL is the one I like the most, would like to know eventually how top theme and change stuff myself to personalise it for me.
This launcher seems faster and easier to modify and has loads of other options, the ability to use other themes (styles) and is really fast.
Apex, has everything, but applicable on ICS roms
Swyped from my DesireS
using sense 4.0a, maybe switch to "go" later
I used Apex in ms Fallout Rom. Looks great my favorite launcher
Gesendet von meinem HTC Desire S mit Tapatalk 2
On GB I was using the Nemus launcher. He is quick and doesn't use a lot ram.
On ICS I was using Apex, but he was FCing a lot with the unofficial AOKP rom. So I'm now using Nova. I just love the ICS style, so I never gone back.

Apex launcher works only on 4.0 and above and its way better. It has more features than the stock launcher.:good:
If :
you are on ics go with nova or apex
you like speed go with FTL from lowveld( our top dev)
you like bloat go with go launcher
you can try holo launcher, cool for me
Stock JellyBean launcher is awesome
Tapatalked from a Desire S waiting for Kernel 3 sources. WAKE UP HTC!!!!!!
which one better - Apex or Nova launcher? or is there something better for ICS?

IMO Apex on ICS is the best, also run out on top of sense 4.0A roms.
if you go in that direction then I'd recommend that you check out the newly released app in development section that permit's you to use the sense lock screen and have working lock screen short cuts with apex launcher
Sywepd form my DsereiS
Apex is the best I've tried by far, and it's worth buying the Pro version.
Running it over ICE DS now and it's going great.

Why not just have a look in the dev section?
It took me a couple of seconds to find that link...
hmm
Am running LBCv5.4 and soo far so best for me is Holo launcher , keeps me on 400-419 free ram according to ES task manager widget + gives u the closest look to ICS , tthe rest of the launchers u pointed works well but the highest ram i do get is 370 via FLT ....

ICS style on ANY ROM

This may be old news for a lot of a people, but since I can't find any mention of it in the G2x Forums, then I figured there were probably still enough people who don't know about it to warrant a new thread.
If you're like me and got tired of the instabilities of ICS roms and switched to a GB one, but missed the look and feel of ICS, then here is your answer:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1636393
Holo Launcher works for 2.2 and above. I've been running it on top of HFP 2.2 for 3 days with no problems. It does a great job of giving you an ICS feel on your GB ROM and also features pinch previews and scrollable docks. I recommend using this with a rom that supports Theme Chooser to fully customize your device and really get that Sandwich feel (or whatever other feel you want )
thats pretty cool, gonna try this when i get home, thanks for posting this!
I've been using it for 2 days and it is nice and gives the same exact feel of stock launcher of 4.0.4 without the lag haha, I wish Widgets would work but it is only a beta ;-)

Widgets are working for me. Just not in the ICS style of pulling them from the app drawer, which is not a huge deal for me.

Only if it had lock screen gesture and delete/uninstall apps directly from the app drawer. The two things that won't let me go of the Golauncher.

My current rom supports lockscreen gestures (I use them frequently). And if you hold down on an app from the app drawer, drag it to the delete/trash icon, and hold it there, it turns into an uninstall icon. Note: this only works with downloaded apps and not system apps.***
Oh.. and I appreciate thanks, but if you try the launcher and like it, please show your support and thanks to dev in the original thread linked in the OP. Thanks!
Its Ok, doesn't compare to ADW with the ICS Sqrd paid theme is smooth silky Butter!
I tried this before, it's not bad but I'd rather use GO Launcher EX with an ICS theme. It's just way smoother for my phone.
The jelly bean update is nice.... People don't seem to like the search bar but I think it's cool

[HELP] Stock launcher ICS

Somebody has the stock launcher of ics (CM9) to post for me??
Thanks

Wrong section ...but you can look for "holo launcher" from google play.
Sent from my GT-P6200 using xda app-developers app
Holo Launcher is not really optimized for tablets. App drawer icons looks disgusting. I too would want an ICS Launcher that is optimized for the tab, or even the stock TW Launcher modded for greater performance. Go HD is fast but looks kind of ugly.
Sorry guys...Any Mod can move this topic?
And, about the laucher...I already try the Holo Launcher, but it is not costumized for tablets...
Any alternatives???
Thanks for all...
I have the same problem. I use golauncherhd, but I also think ugly and TW is slow.

Hooray! Anderweb is back!
EDIT: Disappointing launcher. App drawer is still horrible, scrolling is jerky and somehow still feels like I'm using a old launcher made for froyo. Anderweb needs to do a full rewrite of his launcher if he wants it to have the popularity it used to.
OK are there any other reviews.

See the reviews of the App. Too many issues with the launcher. It wasnt updated in a while. And after the upgrade many crashes.
I have no crash issues on adw ex.. but there's room for loads of improvement .. the app drawer scrolling is a pain, the menu pop up a sore .. it should be fixed in the coming updates .. for now, apex still the best..
Used to have ADW EX in the time of Froyo and it was very good launcher.
Now, it was a pain in the head, the launcher love crashing and it nag me much. Still not suggested to buy, waiting for the next update.
