Flash cm7 into my DesireS and got adw.launcher
Then installed go.launcher from market, it seems to run smoother, especially when scrolling through app drawer.
Any1 experience this as well?

Well let's sum it up with all the replies on this thread.
If you are tired of looking at the same launcher and want something different
without having to flash a whole different rom everytime u get bored you could try the following.
Action Launcher
ADW
Apex
FTL
Go Launcher
Holo
Nova
Nemus
Many of the above gives you an 'ICS feel' except for adw,ftl and go.
Or if you want something like Win 8 might be ur liking.
*You can always force stop(freeze with TB) built in launcher if you are worried about it taking up ur ram.
FTL, try that!

Or go the whole hog and install Reaper ROM
What launcher do you need? Feature rich of fast? First - Go Launcher, second - ADW or FTL.
Apex is also good but FTL is the best choice in terms of speed and customization.

FTL for me everytime
have tried ADW and Go launcher but FTL is the one I like the most, would like to know eventually how top theme and change stuff myself to personalise it for me.
This launcher seems faster and easier to modify and has loads of other options, the ability to use other themes (styles) and is really fast.
Apex, has everything, but applicable on ICS roms
Swyped from my DesireS
using sense 4.0a, maybe switch to "go" later
I used Apex in ms Fallout Rom. Looks great my favorite launcher
Gesendet von meinem HTC Desire S mit Tapatalk 2
On GB I was using the Nemus launcher. He is quick and doesn't use a lot ram.
On ICS I was using Apex, but he was FCing a lot with the unofficial AOKP rom. So I'm now using Nova. I just love the ICS style, so I never gone back.

Apex launcher works only on 4.0 and above and its way better. It has more features than the stock launcher.:good:
If :
you are on ics go with nova or apex
you like speed go with FTL from lowveld( our top dev)
you like bloat go with go launcher
you can try holo launcher, cool for me
Stock JellyBean launcher is awesome

IMO Apex on ICS is the best, also run out on top of sense 4.0A roms.
if you go in that direction then I'd recommend that you check out the newly released app in development section that permit's you to use the sense lock screen and have working lock screen short cuts with apex launcher
Sywepd form my DsereiS
Apex is the best I've tried by far, and it's worth buying the Pro version.
Running it over ICE DS now and it's going great.

Why not just have a look in the dev section?
It took me a couple of seconds to find that link...
hmm
Am running LBCv5.4 and soo far so best for me is Holo launcher , keeps me on 400-419 free ram according to ES task manager widget + gives u the closest look to ICS , tthe rest of the launchers u pointed works well but the highest ram i do get is 370 via FLT ....

What is the best launcher to have on my Evo 3D?
I know theres so many launchers I just have a tough time choosing.
SPB Shell, Regina Launcher, Go Launcher, ADW, LaucherPro
Launcher7, Zeam, and Gingerbread launcher are good as well. It all comes down to personal preference.
Posted by Mr. Z's Epic 4G via Tapatalk
Zeam launcher. Best launcher I've used (I've tried stock, Launcher Pro and ADW). Love the fact that after using task killer I have 88M memory available (before I used to get over 100M sometimes - Using Cya-no-Gen Ver 1.2)
Its light, fast, and clean. What more could you want?
Moved as not development.
After trying alot of launchers i.m.o it's Go Launcher but what you should do is try them as only you will find what suits your needs...
This is very subjective. I suggest trying a few and seeing what you like. I prefer ADW, but there are many good ones. Is there something specific you are looking for feature-wise?

I used to love ADW when I was using my HTC magic. Now on the Arc, I've tried ADW and Go launcher. Go was cool, but a little laggy. I then went back to stock, but it was boring. So I'm now trying Zeam and looking so far. Very smooth, simple, light weight. However I get bored easily and may change next week!

I'm a huge fan of LauncherPro (Plus). It runs very smoothly on my LG Optimus 2X and it also used to run smoothly on my Motorola Milestone.
GO Launcher EX is also a good launcher, but I like LauncherPro's widgets more.
I have tried most if not all launchers there is and I allways end up with the UD launcher from Blackdroid. Simply scrumptious...

Thanks for that reference, hadn't found that one yet. Going to give it a try. Regina home works great on this phone, tried it once on my captivate = lots of lag. With the dual processor it flies though. Its a resource killer but great for showing off. I use adw for everyday purposes and LCD resolution app, set to 200. This let's you take advantage of the 4.5" screen IMO.

I'm using Go Launcher and love it.
But it does crash sometimes in the sense that the launch icons all turn into "+" symbols. Also sometimes I'll have to press more than once to launch something.
TW is not choppy for me. I don't know man...I have also flipped Willy nilly between different roms (stock root, all alien builds, s-stocketeer (1.0 & 1.5), back too nandroid, & once odin»to stock (almost forgot i flashed CRT off zip as soon as it was posted as well). All without a hitch, not sure if its dumb luck or what. I got my I727

I've been using the ICS Launcher now on mine and have been enjoying it. Very fast scrolling and I love the looks.
I've used Launcher Pro, ADW EX, and SPB Shell in the past. All good launchers. For customizing, ADW Ex is one of my favorites.
You may just have to try them all.
You can use ROM Toolbox for fonts, they have a ton on there. I have tried a few of the other tweaks but they have not worked and I end up restoring.
The Best and most supported Launcher
I have tried ADW EX and all the launchers out there. I am now using and loving " GO LAUNCHER" it constanly has updates, widgets, SMS app and themes for everything- VERY VERY customizable- Alot of themes and wigets are absolutely free !!! Runs fast also- Try it out- you will now be disappointed....

Apex launcher of course! Its smooth and easy to use.
Stock LG Optimus launcher using stock Froyo.
Apex Launcher with a Blu Kuban twist. The only launcher and ROM worth running IMHO.
Nova Launcher. Very nice. I will probably get the paid version as soon as I have money to spare. End of the month here so I'm prioritizing food instead..
I like the app drawer and the fact that you can turn off all the animations etc. If it's something I hate it's 3d effects in the home screen and app drawer. Urgh.
It's the only one I've felt is actually better than HTC Sense 4.0 that is already on the device (One V). I would probably be more keen to switch the launcher if I had a Samsung phone.
With ICS I love using Apex. One of the most fluid launchers I've ever used, and it's pretty customizable.

Even with ICS my favourite launcher is still GO Launcher. In fact, I think the GO Dev team bring a large number of quality apps to Android, which is something a lot of Android apps unfortunately lack.

I personally LOVE Trebuchet Launcher, but it is a part of CyanogenMod. I have not found any others that I really like, so I am using CM10, because it is the BEST hands down.
Now, you MIGHT be able to find the apk and put it on the stock ICS, but that might defeat the whole purpose of Trebuchet, but just to get back on the subject at hand, and that is that apex launcher is EXACTLY like Trebuchet, and it is not too bad, and worth a look.
Oh and here is flashable zip for Trebuchet, not sure how well it will work on this phone without CM on it, but it might also be worth a look.

performance wise, Nova launcher is the best by far.. though i have used Apex a lot.. the transitions in Nova launcher seem much faster.. the full version lets you make folders in app drawer and use gestures too
Personally, I like Go Launcher. It has a screenshot option which is kind of handy since the one in CM10 doesn't crop them properly at the moment.
Go keeps me going! Best to suit ma requirements!
I've tried adw, nova and apex. Apex in my opinion is the smoothest. Nova would lag at times. I bought Apex pro yesterday and it has a lot of extra features. Basically it will come down to what you like but i would recommend Apex.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I997 using xda premium
Apex or ADW for sure. Nova always had 'twitches' here n there while scrolling. ADW is the most customizable launcher I've ever used n just as smooth as apex. Mind you, gotta be on ICS and up for Apex and Nova. ADW works on all, but to use all features it has, you'll have to be on JB.

Nova is pretty slick and has active development. You can even get beta downloads through the app once you install a beta version from xda.
Adw ex.
I loved the trebuchet launcher that was available on bpear's older CNA builds I believe, and it was all I used until development was put on hold for a bit. Then when I switched to Nocturnal Dirty I stuck to using Holo Launcher HD.

I was a big sense fan and then I tried Apex a while back and enjoyed the smoother usage. I have been using Nova for a bit now, it's almost identical to Apex, I like the method Nova uses to sort widgets better than Apex. It groups things by program, and unless Apex changed something, it would just give you a list of every widget available

Actually using the TouchWiz launcher bundled with JellyBam. It's not nearly as customizable as Nova/Apex/Trebuchet, but it looks good and is very fluid. Quite enjoy the app drawer transition and pinch zoom.
