[Q] HTC email app Q - HTC Sensation

Is there anyway with the htc email app, where it makes emails that are read through your computer email's server, to then mark these emails on your phone as read, so your not effectively getting two lots of the same message, so it marks all servers as read after you first read it and not separate to the other server?
My old blackberry did this and it was absolutely S**t!!
Cheers

If I read an email on my phone, it eventually appears as read in Outlook, takes a while for exchange to catch up.

I don't use outlook, just the standard windows live programme, it all worked fine on my crappy old phone! Im wondering whether there is some sort of setting i need to change?
Cheers

Which Email do you use? I use Yahoo on stock htc email app and the marked read settings work fine. I've never had that problem.

Leave messages on Exchange Server

I helped a client set up a new Moto Q 9c last week using OWA synchronization. When she got to her office today and opened Outlook, none of the email came in to her Inbox. Is there a Leave mail on server option in Windows Mobile for mail coming from an Exchange Server, and if so, where would I find it?
Thanks,
Cathy
to my knowledge, it should be kept on the server anyway.. just like regular poutlook
she's getting all mail to her ppc and then it gets deleted from the server?
That's what I assumed would happen. If she leaves her desktop Outlook open, they come in there. Haven't heard back whether they're also coming into the PDA, but assuming so.

Hi Cathy, thats wierd, i use exchange email regularly and never had that problem. Did she accidentally delete the messages on her device and synced(which would explain the empty inbox)?
I use original 6.1 wwe rom and there is no option like that, im not that familiar with the Q9c, is that 6.1 too? WHen she is getting used to it, it might be safer to manually sync on her device instead of when items arrive, that way they are safe on the server, but does kind of defeat the point i guess lol.
I installed ActiveSync on her computer yesterday, synchronized with the Q, and after a couple of hours she said everything appeared to be working properly. Fingers crossed! Thanks for your response.

[Q] MyTouch 4G Receives Mail but Never Sends Mail (ActiveSync)

My work email comes into my phone through Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync. Most of it works fine - my calendar and contacts are synched, and I get my mail fine. But, I cannot send, forward, or reply to any of my work emails. My coworkers are starting to think I don't like them
From reading other forums, this has been a continuing problem with MT4G. I really don't want to have to buy touchdown just so I can do my job. What I really want is for my phone to work the way it should. The most recent post I've seen online is a quote from HTC stating that "their Android devices do not support Exchange 2010". Is this true?
I found a posting on TMobile that gives instructions for adding an Exchange e-mail account using manual setup. Will this solve the problem?
I'd rather not delete this email account and then re-install it manually if it isn't going to help the problem. Help?

Email issues

Gday Guys,
Just wondered if anyone has had the same issues as i have with the HTC ONE XL (Telstra)?
The email setup facility on this handset gives you the obvious option to set up either yahoo, hotmail, gmail, other...
If you go into the hotmail setup (which i have), it sets up pretty much automatically after you input your username and password in. All good there. It shows my email address as normal, but when you go into it, and try and sync to view your emails, it states no emails present?
Its as if it is not syncing with the hotmail server...
Ive contacted HTC, they gave me 2 answers, the first was that they said there was no issues (useless), and the second guy i got stated they know about this and are going to be producing a patch to fix this issue....(mmmmm)...
I can add my email using the öther" option, and putting in the hotmail pop3 settings and it does accept my email address and even sync, but it will only allow me to sync once every 15 minutes... aarrrggghhhh.... lol..
Ive downloaded the hotmail app for the time being which works syncing my emails (inbox only), however it wont let me access my other folders within my hotmail account....
Just wanted to know if anyone else has experienced the same thing?
Thanks guys... sorry just noticed this is prob in the wrong section... can someone move as it wont let me delete it... grrr
Try setting your email up using IMAP or POP/SMTP. This should bypass any issues specific to your email provider.

Emailing on Android

HI,
Recently I've been using my email more often and one thing that's always bugged me/annoyed me is how emails dissapear from my inbox. Since Gingerbread-ICS-JB I know it's Android email. So when you're out and about you get emails on your phone but when you come home and check your email from your client (I used Windows Mail and an @cox.net address), the emails on your phone instantly dissapear. Sometimes I need a copy of this email! What to do...Gmail certainly doesn't do this...It syncs everything including folders(labels).
I don't know what you mean. Mine have never disappeared, unless I delete them.

This.
Or configure it to leave a copy of the message on the server.

Emails won't sync all emails.

So I used the stock email to do all my business emails, and it was fine. Not great but worked well enough. Recently it started to only sync about 1 week back, and wouldn't load any more than that. So I switched it over to Gmail to see if it would sync all the emails. It didn't help. I can still read all my emails on my computer but for some reason all the emails won't appear on my phone. My Gmail account still syncs all its emails to my phone, but my business (which isn't gmail) won't. Any help would be great. Thanks.

I found a solution for this, i was looking for this myself.
Switch back to your stock email app which is located in Samsung folder.
Add your email (mine is hotmail) after you done that, you will be redirected to your inbox, in the right corner there is a button called "more" then "settings" then you will see your email account name, press that. now look at the bottom, you will find "Period for synchronization of e-mail" and then press "all".
Well I gave that a shot, and while it loads emails, it will only load to March 10, which may mean I did something back on that day to not let it sync anything further past that day. Could it be on the email hosting side perhaps?
OK, for anyone who might take a gander at this in the future, I found out what was wrong. I had checked off the box that says delete from server after 14 days, in outlook on my computer. Kind of a bozo mover, but hopefully it might save someone in the future.
