I got the smart idea (though now I say it was stupid) to put a custom rom on my phone. Found one I like, or so I thought... I like parts of it but hate other parts of it and now I want something new.
I have done a factory reset and wiped everything REPEATEDLY yet this darn rom is still stuck on here!!!! How do I get rid of it???? :'(
A factory reset, resets it to the factory settings of the current ROM.
Factory resets don't change ROMS.
You will have to find a file with your old ROM and flash it back.

Tried to root my HTC Inspire, did pretty good at that part. Then I installed a theme I found here (that said it was for my phone) and now can't get past the boot screen. I've done factory reset, data reset, cache reset, davlik reset.. everything.
Is there anything I can do to fix it?
EDIT: and no i didnt have a backup
I had a similar problem after installing a theme. Different phone though. What worked for me: Removing battery for a few seconds, then go through the whole factory reset, cache partition, and Davlik cache wipe routine again.
Ok, I'll try that now. Thanks.
Still the same... I suppose I should just get a new phone
if you can still boot, there's still hope
do you have a custom recovery? if you do, you can transfer a custom rom to your phone and flash it
Sent from my LG-P500 using XDA Premium App
No I don't
I guess it was my fault for trying to do something I wasn't ready for.. I was just so tired of looking at the same damn skins.
I guess the problem was I installed the Lucid theme without CM7 (stupid I know, I deserve this).

no no.. don't give up hope. If you can still boot there is hope. Here's a link to what may hopefully set your phone straight. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=970824
Ok so I'm relatively new at trying to root and hack phones as well as adding custom roms. I searched all over the forums but could barely find anything related to my problem, and if I'm wrong i do apologize for re-posting. Anyways I rooted the phone using superoneclick and it all went fine. So i then decided to try and install a custom called CyanogenMod 9 onto the phone with Rom Manager. I'm guessing I did not do an extremely important step and now i fear my phone is bricked. I put the ROM into the root of the SD card, went into ROM manager, and trid installing the ROM. It all failed and now my phone is stuck on the same screen on the bootup where it keeps restarting itself telling me Failed installation factory reset failed and it restarts factory reset. The phone is from T-mobile and its a Mytouch Q. Any help would be very wonderful!

Hi, Are you able to get into the CWM menu? If so, Do a "Factory reset" clearing all data. Then clear the /cache partition and the davlik cache in the "advanced" menu. Then flash the rom again. If that doesnt work try clearing everything again and installing the default android 2.3.6 LG rom and take off again from there. My end advice? Dont flash this phone, its a peice of absolute crap

So I have a Motorola Droid Ultra, rooted, running 4.4 Kit Kat, on Obake 12.5.3, with SafeStrap installed. I have recently started to get random UI reboots and I have no idea what could possibly be causing these random UI reboots. Can someone please tell me, if I want to factory reset, should I use SafeStrap recovery to factory reset? and would I lose root? Or do I have to reflash my phone? (I'd prefer an easy fix while, at the same time, not have to reflash). Can someone help me troubleshoot my issue here? It would be much appreciated
Edit: In addition to the reboots, I also have another problem that has never happened before, when I go to storage settings in the settings menu, everything is stuck on "calculating"...
Here's a screenshot:

This is often caused by the cache being broken. I don't know how to rebuild the cache if you're just rooted and not unlocked. If you can find a way to clear it, then try that.
Factory reset can do this, but you might lose root (not sure).
Okay, so I am about to perform a Factory Reset through SafeStrap right now. I will give an update post after I do the reset.
Problem solved!
I did the factory reset with SafeStrap, I am still rooted, and the problem is solved!
So I had cm12 installed and something happened to where my.phone was lagging so I said screw it and reflashed, while something happened and now I tried to while everything. Well I think I did something wrong because I lost all my apps in the app drawer, but when I go into file manager all my stuff is still there, but now the last couple times I tried to reboot the charging light was flashing red to yellow, but when I take the battery out and put it back in it reboots fine back to the screwed up home screen. Still with all my apps and pictures. Viewable in file manager.someone please help I'm freaking out thinking my phone is screwed up for good ....
Very hard to understand you. What ROM did you flash to now? Does TWRP work, can you get into TWRP?
Yes I can get into twrp, basically it threw me back into my cm12 ROM with none of my apps, and I tried to reflash Google apps and it didn't work,so if I can get into twrp is there a way to fix this by doing like a general full factory reset? And if so exactly how do I do that? I dunno this sucks....I dont wanna try anything else until I kinda have an idea what to do, don't wanna screw it up anymore

If you don't know how to factory reset you probably shouldn't be flashing in the first place. I highly suggest just doing a clean flash and flash Gapps right after you flash CM 12. In order to wipe data, you just click wipe in TWRP.
No I know how to factory reset lol.it's just I did that and when it would go to restart I got little error code up in left hand side of screen. But it doesn't matter because thanks to androidrootz I downloaded New firmware connected it to pc and completely reinstalled operating system. So I'm not rooted or anything and I'm back to square one, .but much better than where I was at.
If your custom Rom was bugging out it could have been a corrupted download. Sometimes all you can do is start from scratch. If you want to flash custom, you need to expect these things. Remember that this is a development site. I have seen where the same Rom acts differently on the exact same phone model. This could be due to a variety of things such as microscopic differences in hardware (this is one of the reasons phones of the same model handles being overclocked more our less than others), settings, tweaks, or apps installed.
Hi,
I'm in the process of trying to flash my phone back to stock because I messed some stuff up in the hidden menu. I've never really messed with any of this stuff before, but it seems like Sony offers all the tools I need and it seems straight forward. I have a couple of questions, though. Will flashing the binary found at this link reset the phone to completely out of the box condition and will it function as if I never messed with anything? Will it function as if it's 100% stock and still receive updates normally?
I've wasted my entire afternoon trying to figure out how to factory reset this menu and I'd like for the phone to just back to how it was out of the box.
Thanks in advance for any help you guys can offer.
The phone is a Sony Xperia 5 IV, btw.
A Factory Reset only removes all apps added by user and user-data.
Hence reflash Stock ROM.

Thanks for the reply. I assumed that the rom reflash would reset everything, but I've seen posts on here saying that a rom reflash didn't reset that menu and I'm not sure which is accurate. So, would reflashing the rom actually reset those settings?
