hello
The Unbranding and unlocking section is only for spv e650 phone?
because i have a 'sfr s710' branded one (french concurent of orange)
thanks
benefits from doing it?
maybe a strange question to those who already have done it, but what are the benefits from moving to s710 firmware ? Does it work fast enough ? I have not seen s710 in action, co what are the main differences ?

No the unbranding is needed for every HTC S710 that is sold under a different name. So in your case you would have to unbrand the phone as well.

The benefits from moving from SPV e650 (orange) firmware to HTC firmware is that the phone will become much more stable. A LOT of issues have been resolved in this firmware and you will also enjoy a longer battery time amongst other things.
Also, Orange is not very fast in updating the firmware, so you would also benefit from not having to wait 6 months before you can download the firmware from the Orange site.
The final benefit would be that you have an Orange SPV phone (like me) but do not have a contract with Orange but with another provider. Then you cannot download the firmware updates from the Orange website. Which is why I went through all this trouble in the first place
yes .. workkk!!!

I downloaded all the files and started the flashing and every thing was fine... At step 8, I followed some instructions but I didn't understand what to do when asked "excute spl now". So I just click any key to continue...then when excuting the ROMUpdateUtility.exe from the Vox-USPL-RUU.zip files, an error 270 occurs (with the message: "the image file is corrupted. please check your Update utility")
Is this error because of the step 8 (execute spl now)? Does any one has experience? elese, is the any other valid rom image?
thanks in advance
Guys can someone give me the valid place to read the guide to flash my E650?
I have tried to open below url but it does not work it says a login required?
http://www.portability.nl/windows-m...5.1_4.1.13.54_03.10.90_ship.exe-htc-s710.html
I have just bought Orange SPV E650 and want it as HTC S710. and unlocked, because i'm on O2.
Well, the link above doesnt work.
I think i found a google-cache of that page here and it didnt work all the way to the end. Quoting it here just in case:

How-to: Flash Orange SPV e650 with RUU_Vox_HTC_WWE_1.34.405.1_4.1.13.54_03.10.90_Ship.exe HTC S710 firmware
This guide will do a step-by-step approach to successfully flashing your Orange SPV with the latest HTC S710 firmware upgrade (aka fixing the Invalid Vendor ID problem).
You need to have Winzip and ActiveSync installed to complete this guide.
IMPORTANT: Please follow each step (even if you think it's obsolete) or it will not work. The risk is entirely yours !! Don't blame me if you brick your phone
Reset phone to factory defaults:
Resetting your phone to factory defaults will DELETE ALL contacts information, calendar etc etc. Make sure you have made a backup of this data before proceeding.
1. Make sure your phone is turned OFF.
2. Press and hold soft1 and soft2 keys. (The menu keys above the 1 and 3 keys)
3. Press and hold the power button for around 1 to 1.5 seconds. Then release the power button. But keep holding the soft1 and soft2 keys.
4. The phone boots and asks to press the Send key to restore to factory defaults. Keep the soft1 and soft2 keys pressed and press the Send key (the key with the green phone icon).
The phone will now reboot and will be now reset to factory defaults. This can take a while, be patient. Wait until the phone has fully restarted before proceeding with the next steps.
Unbranding and unlocking the phone
Now it is time to unlock the phone so it will run unsigned applications (which is needed for the actual firmware flashing)
1. Connect the e650 to your pc via active sync
2. Download MoDaCo_SPV_E650_de_Brand___Fix_Pack.PREP.CAB
3. Download MoDaCo_SPV_E650_de_Brand___Fix_Pack_0.5.CAB
4. Download RemoveSecurity.CAB
5. Copy all three CAB files to your phone.
6. Start explorer on your phone and run and install the MoDaCo_SPV_E650_de_Brand___Fix_Pack.PREP.CAB file
7. Next run and install the MoDaCo_SPV_E650_de_Brand___Fix_Pack_0.5.CAB file.
8. Reboot your phone
9. Once your phone is rebooted run and install RemoveSecurity.CAB
10. Reboot your phone.
11. Download SDA_ApplicationUnlock.zip
12. Run the SDA_ApplicationUnlock.exe inside the zip file. You should get a message that your phone has been unlocked.
13. Reboot your phone
Flashing the phone
Now that you have de-branded and unlocked the phone we can start the update process.
1. Remove the SD card from your phone.
2. Connect the e650 to your pc via active sync
3. Download Vox USPL- CID BYPASS.zip
4. Download Vox-USPL-RUU.zip
5. Download RUU_Vox_HTC_WWE_1.34.405.1_4.1.13.54_03.10.90_Ship.exe . This is the new firmware from HTC.
6. Right-click the RUU_Vox_HTC_WWE_1.34.405.1_4.1.13.54_03.10.90_Ship.exe and select extract to here using Winzip. The files should now unpack. Verify that there is a file called RUU_signed.nbh
7. Unzip Vox USPL- CID BYPASS.zip and start uspl_116_jockyw.bat
8. Follow the instructions until you see: now start a MTTY session or use RUU to flash any ROM message.
9. Unzip Vox-USPL-RUU.zip and run ROMUpdateUtility.exe. Click on Next twice. The application will now check your phone. Click on the Update button. Verify that you want to update the rom version:
from: image version 1.xx.xx.xx (could be anything)
to: image version vox-USPL <- this is important
10. Click on update and wait for the phone to be flashed. This can take a while.
11. The phone will reboot after flashing. Wait for the phone to reboot.
12. Start the uspl_116_jockyw.bat file again.
13. Follow the instructions until you see: now start a MTTY session or use RUU to flash any ROM message.
14. Copy the RUU_signed.nbh file you extracted from the RUU_Vox_HTC_WWE_1.34.405.1_4.1.13.54_03.10.90_Ship.exe file and copy it to the folder containing the extracted files from the Vox-USPL-RUU.zip
15. Start the ROMUpdateUtility.exe you unzipped from the Vox-USPL-RUU.zip
16. Click next twice. The application will now check your phone. Verify that you want to update the rom version:
from: image version vox-USPL
to: image version 1.34.405.1 <- this is important
17. Hit update to update your phone.
Your phone should now flash the HTC firmware without any problems.

Reset worked, unbranding worked partially - I dont know if security removal worked. Installed ok, but dont know if it worked. I can only say that past this point there is still a SIM lock. I cannot use my payg O2 card i use always. I have orange payg card which works, but i dont need it.
I run into problems on step 9 of flashing. It goes to 100% and drops an error (cant remember the number now). If i try to flash the full flash (steps 14-15) i get an error "[294] Invalid Vender ID". Thats pretty much it.
Can someone help me with this ?
Phone now is unbranded, interface changed, phone is working on Orange Payg card just fine. I want it in S710 flavor and without simlock.
Maybe there are some steps missing in this guide here ?
If someone experienced can help me i could provide all the data/versions of my phone here. Dont know what may be needed so wont post the whole lot of that crap.
HELP !!!
Ah-ha... One clarification, which makes sense now and how it helped me to finish reflashing. Inbetween steps 8 and 9 - AFTER YOU SEE THE "now start a MTTY session" MESSAGE DO NOT, i repeat DO NOT PRESS ANYTHING WHEN THE MESSAGE IS SHOWN. Then just minimize the window and continue to step 9. the file "uspl_116_jockyw.bat" must be running when you execute ROMUpdateUtility.exe extracted from Vox-USPL-RUU.zip. Voila...

Thanx for making the guide!
Some additional comments:
-this procedure does NOT sim unlock your phone. For that contact your provider, or pay someone to do it.
-for some people/brands: you can start at step 11 (application unlock). THAT is the program you need to run the USPL!
the steps before are only necessary if application unlock doesn't work
(some can do with only running removesecurity before running application unlock and don't need debranding)
-step 1-4 to reset your phone is NOT needed, if you flash your phone it starts with the default startup of the ROM anyway
-that you loose the activesync is correct.
just run the rom updater and it will find your phone again
-sometimes the phone jumps out of the linux MTTY screen and resets. don't worry, that happens to many people. Just repeat the last step.
happy reflashing!
ps I can advice to install the WM6.1 v1.1 rom found here on XDA.
It is much faster and more stable then the HTC WM6 1.34 rom, and is based on official microsoft releases.

At long last, we have ROM for the Samsung Focus: a big thanks to PavelX1.
What's the different between UCJK2 AT&T USA & UCJK3 ATT USA 4K?
Dude, I don't know what magic you did, but thanks!
Big thanks on the 1st post added!
Anyone, anything about the contents? OS version, radio etc?
I flashed the Samsung i917 Focus firmware UCJK2 AT&T USA and its OS version 7004 and the software radio is 2103. Everything works beautifully. Many thanks PavelX1

These roms bring your phone basically back to factory with os version 7004. Its useful if you have a focus in demo mode or just wanna downgrade to 7004 to do the chevron unlock and upgrade. But to answer youre question, in order for the program to see your phone, you have to put ur phone in download mode.
Turn off phone, hold camera, volume up, n power then connect to pc. Make sure you have samsung drivers installed. If you have windows vista or 7, if drivers are not there it will automatically install from windows update.

Pavel, many thanks to made this. Now i can unlock my device and test my own apps.

Just found your answer after I finished flashing my focus and want to give a little tutorial for people who don't know how to do it. But thanks anyway
And yes, I bought my focus from ebay, already updated in 7390, but I want to unlock my device. Have been struggling since yesterday, searching here and there. Now I can sleep tight

To wrap it up :
1. Download Samsung USB Driver (Windows 7 can't find it for me) and install it.
http : //mirror.batteryboss.org/SAMSUNG_USB_Driver_for_Mobile_Phones.exe
2. Unplug your device (if it's plugged).
3. Put your focus in download mode (I found this from Omnia forum), as astaccz already stated, press Volume UP + Camera + Power button, then after you see Exclamation Mark inside Yellow Triangle, release the button.
4. After the driver installed, Run the application (I use the 7.21 version) then load all of the files needed. (nb0, bin, etc)
5. Plug your device !! The Start button will be clickable now !!
6. Press start, and enjoy the flashing progress.
7. Wait until you get the Getting Started screen.
8. Enjoy !!!

many thanks PavelX1, very good work indeed. More people can be set at ease knowing they can always flash back to factory default. This helps me out b/c I tweak my Focus so much I forget what all I've done sometimes Harder to try and undo things than just revert back to default factory and redo what tweaks I liked. Thanks again and keep up the great work...we all appreciate it.
any one knows if is possible to view the content of the OS image?? i'm interested to make some changes in the regedit of my sim unlocked focus.
Thanks.
Sadly, I'm still not able to make my focus workin. After flashing it's stucked and just displays SAMSUNG.
i just flash my focus and now have the OS Version 7.0.7004.0 . Thanks again.

I've been waiting for this for a long time. My replacement phone came with 7390 installed, so I was locked out. Now, I've flashed this 7004 ROM, Unlocked, Updated, and am currently running 7390 UNLOCKED. Very much appreciated.
Be sure to browse for all the file parts in the Flash Program, then be sure to select ALL the check boxes. Next, put your phone into DOWNLOAD mode (Volume UP, Power, Camera) and then start the flash. See the attached images. Of course your files will be in slightly different locations.

Same here, got a focus from ebay which already had 7390, after flash, the firmware and radio were downgraded on mine compared to the original retail rom from att, I used UCJK2 AT&T USA, the process took less than 10 minutes, also I kept my sandisk 8gb sdcard in, and was formatted and added automatically. Ran chevron, debrand, updates to 7392, all OK. The UCJK2 AT&T USA is 7004, did not try the UCJK3 ATT USA 4K because it's probably already 7390... and you will not be able to unlock it.

I also left my 16GB SD Card in during flash. I did try the 4K version, but it said I didn't have the correct hardware. Not sure what that one is for. Maybe it's for the phones that have the newer memory, v4 or something like that?
It's so great to be unlocked! I've got a REAL FlashLight again...
Hey guys, hope all is well..
I've made a complete 'pickle' out of my HTC Trophy (Vodafone NZ - Unbranded)..
I was happily using Ansar's europe Mango rom found from these forums for a couple of weeks only to notice that a few key features were not working, Local Scout would not identify anything in my country and Bing song recognition was not visible =/..
I had been given word that the official NZ rom had finally been released through Zune so I (Foolishly) thought it was as simple as flashing with the Vodafone NZ NoDo rom (Also found here by Ansar) and attempting to update the firmware through Zune as usual.. Boy was I wrong..
After the flash had been done, I noticed through Zune that the actual image of the device shown was not my Trophy.. It said 'HTC Trophy'.. But the image wasn't.. I chose to ignore that and attempt to update the firmware, it happily updated right up to 7403, but the following update from this (I assumed Mango) bounced back with the error 80180048..
I've looked through every possible source of knowledge on the net which led nowhere (Even attempted the unwalshing tool but it advised me my device wasn't walshed).. So I'm pretty much stumped.
If anyone at all can help me, I will have your babies..
=P
MVP
EDIT - If it means anything, The moment it goes to install the new firmware to the device that USB message pops up on my computer (Win 7) saying that the performance would be a lot better if I plugged it into a USB 2.0 port (Obviously it is..)
Also, on all the previous updates I get a status bar on the phone of how far through the update it is, when it is updating this last firmware I don't get this status bar, it just sits on the same image of the phone and pc with a crossed out arrow in the middle for about 10 minutes then reboots with the above error message
So you have decided, or maybe trying to decide, to invest a good chunk of money into a Developer Edition S5 instead of a retail version. Here are a few tips and general information that you need to know before you start to "tinker" with the Developer Edition S5:
1) The Developer Edition S5 can only be obtained from the Samsung online store (site). When you receive the S5 you should understand that it is going to look, feel and perform exactly like the retail version of the S5. The only way you can tell the difference is to pull the battery and look for the words "Developer Device" printed on the S5's board under the battery. You will have all the bloat etc that a retail version has. The only difference is that your bootloader, unlike the retail version, is unlocked. The phone will come with the latest version of Android that Samsung currently supports...the same version as the retail S5.
2) After your initial boot, and before you do anything else, go to settings>security and disable (uncheck) the Reactivation Lock. If you don't do that before "tinkering" with your phone you stand a very good chance of successfully bricking your phone while flashing a recovery or rooting your phone. Next go to About Phone>Build Number and tap it about 6-7 times and enable Developer Option and then enable USB Debugging.
3)A word of advice: Never, never take an OTA update. If you do, you stand a real good chance of locking your bootloader. Samsung has never released a OTA update specifically for their Developer Edition phones. Allowing a retail OTA update to download and install on you Developer Edition will most likely lock your bootloader for good. Sending it back to Samsung will not help you. They will not unlock your phone, and you cannot unlock your phone. You are stuck with a very expensive retail version of the S5. Keeping the Developer Edition up to date is not a problem. Our developer community does a great job taking the latest updates and creating ROMs that are safe to flash on our devices. It may take them a day or two, but it happens.
4) Installing a custom recovery...the first step: First, download and install the latest Samsung drivers on you PC. Then download and install on your PC the latest version of ODIN. Version 3.07 also works if that is what you already have. I recommend TWRP as the best custom recovery to use. Download the latest version of TWRP and place it on you PC. Start ODIN. Power off your phone and then holding down the volume down - button and the power button boot into Download Mode. Once in Download Mode connect your phone to your PC using the supplied USB/charging cable. Wait for ODIN to recognize your phone (phone info will appear in the ID:COM window in ODIN). In the Message window in ODIN find the TWRP .tar you downloaded and highlight it with your cursor. Select the PDA block in ODIN. Now select start. Allow ODIN to do its thing. Do not disconnect your phone until you get the Green Pass notification in ODIN. Disconnect your phone and reboot. You now have a custom recovery installed. NOW DO A BACKUP using your TWRP recovery. Do it right now!!
5)Rooting: After installing a custom recovery (TWRP), download the latest version of SuperSU and place it in your internal storage or external sdcard. Boot your phone into Recovery, wipe cache and delvek, you can also do a Factory Reset if you choose, then select install, find the SuperSU .zip, and flash it. Reboot. Now you are rooted. You can confirm (recommended) that you are rooted by installing Root Checker from the Play Store and running it.
6). OK, you have a custom recovery and rooted. You can now take advantage of the benefits of an unlocked bootloader. There are a number of good ROMs you can flash in the Android Development Section. Caution...Do not flash a ROM that says "Retail". Most developers will say whether it is safe for Developer Phones. There are also some AOSP ROMs that are "Works In Progress" in the Unified Section. You can flash those, but they are not quite ready for prime time yet.
7) Just a reminder: Do not take an OTA. Do not flash Retail Firmware.
Thanks!
Been reading and reading, and reading some more to learn all I can about my Developer Edition. Appreciate this post, and the concise information. :good:

I had S5 dev edish for 2+ years with TWRP + rooted 4.4.2, and life was great. Then when I went to sell it I thought I would update it first to 6.0.1.
1.) Was that a horrible mistake??
2.) If I locked the bootloader by flashing stock 6.0.1, how can I confirm this?
3.) Is my only option to have Samsung revert/unlock the phone to 4.4.2? Or can I root 6.0.1?
4.) If you were selling it on ebay, I assume it's more valuable as 4.4.2 root/unlock than dumb retail 6.0.1?
P.S. I've spent over an hour trying to find these answers myself.
If you have a dev ed then it shouldn't lock the bootloader even if you go to MM.
It's not really worth more one way or the other unless someone is looking for a device already rooted, ready to go.
To check if locked:
Power off
Hold home button, down volume button, and power together
At warning screen, press up volume button
On "Downloading" screen - look to see if it says "Mode: Developer"
(If it does, you're unlocked)
If you're locked, I believe you can just go back to Lollipop, root, and unlock again using this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/ver...t/rd-unlocking-galaxys-s5-bootloader-t3337909
Add this to the list - BACK UP YOUR ABOOT AND PUT IT IN A SAFE PLACE
This used to be a thread on how to disable the air command pop up sound, but it wasn't really a success. So I thought let's change it into a baseband/modem/bootloader upating guide. I know there are a bunch of guides on how to do this but I keep seeing people struggle with it, so I hope this helps
First of all thanks @xda
@sammobile
@samsung
@odin
Prerequisites:
- Smartphone
- Computer
- USB cable
- Patience (it's still a virtue )
- Reading ability (some people seem to lack it nowadays )
It probably won't happen, but just in case
Disclaimer: I'm not responsible for whatever happens to your phone. I'm just providing a guide, so if you brick your device or anything, it's not my fault
Now there are two ways to do update:
1) through flashing the latest firmware
2) by grabbing the modem/baseband/bootloader separately and flashing them manually
This is why most people don't manage to properly update their baseband/modem/bootloader: when updating don't boot into download mode through the reboot menu (this will lock your baseband and therefore it won't update). You have to boot into download mode using the hard keys. To do so, press the home key + volume down + power button at the same time. Hold them until you see a screen that asks you whether or not to continue into download mode.
Method 1: flashing official firmware
When you have a fast internet connection with a big download limit, I highly recommend this method. In this way you're sure everything gets updated at once.
- Grab the latest firmware at www.sammobile.com
Go to firmware. There you search the firmware for your device by typing your model number in the search box. You can grab the firmware for your region of another one, it doesn't matter that much as long as you're sure that the devices have the same chipset (snapdragon <--> exynos). Download the desired firmware. It's the official firmware so don't worry about tripping knox (if you haven't done so already of course ).
- After the download is complete, start Odin.
For the people who don't have Odin yet, make sure you have Samsung kies installed (Link: Samsung Kies)
Download Odin (it's in the firmware description on sammobile) and install.
- Open Odin
- Put your device in download mode following the instructions in red (if you can't find them, you must be really blind! ) and connect it to your computer with an USB cable.
If Samsung kies is properly installed, the box that says 0:[COM7] (the one in the left top corner) should be blue or yellow depending on the Odin version you downloaded.
- Click on AP and add the firmware you just downloaded.
You don't have to change any of the other settings.
- Hit start
Just wait till Odin says pass. Your device will automatically reboot.

Method 2: flashing everything seperately
If you're low on available download data or you should don't want to flash an entire rom, this is the method for you.
- Search for your devices baseband/modem/bootloader (you can find them here on XDA) and download what you need.
- Open Odin (for how to install/download/what you need, see method 1).
- Add your bootloader by clicking BL
- Add your modem by clicking CP
- Add your baseband by clicking AP
You don't have to change any other settings in Odin.
- Hit start
Wait for Odin to say pass, your device should automatically restart.

OTA updates|?
Sorry, noob question, after I flash my g935f with one of these official fw from sammobile, my device will be able to receive OTA updates?
Please let me know if you have information about Odin compatibility with MacOS or VmWare.
SamFirm may deserve some linking, very useful for such scenarios.
Also, Baseband and Modem are the same thing, sometimes it's even called Radio as well.
I have rom GNG1 4.4.2, can i update bootloader to PD3? What can i gain with update bootloader?
OP says
- Add your modem by clicking CP
- Add your baseband by clicking AP
Modem is baseband baseband is modem .
Why flash a modem twice and why flash it through the wrong AP ??
NEVER MIND.
Fixed by reading OP and going to download in the proper way
Hi Guys,
so I wanted to update my HLTE to latest modem.
Running CM13 Temasek builds (encrypted), I thought (before finding this thread) that I need to go back to official.
Did full backup in TWRP 3.0.2, went to download mode.
Flashed Stock with Odin (N9005XXUGBOJ1_N9005AUTGBOG1_AUT), rebooted.
Flashed TWRP from Download mode, restored backup.
I could not verify in between if it updated the modem because the (lollipop) stock could not decrypt my phone.
Still after all this my modem is at N9005XXUENB1...
Any ideas?
