I want to change the home screen clock widget of Sense to show the weather of my 'home city' and not the current location. Part of the reason is that as I understand the feature of tracing current location using Wifi or GPS sucks a lot of battery which I would like to avoid. However when I un-check the 'use wifi' under location settings, the home screen widget does not show any weather, not even of the default home location.
Can you please help.
First off go into the weather app & make sure you have your city added, even if it's there for current location.
Now delete the clock/weather widget & go to readd it. You'll be asked to choose a city & just select your city instead of current location.

Hi
I am using the Touch2/Mega and the weather under the clock on the home screen is set using 'my location' data; however this is invariably wrong and currently I am being told the forecast for a town in Estonia despite being in the UK.
Is it possible to 'fix' the location for the home weather screen just as with the weather tab?? Its incredibly annoying! Maybe by an option that I cann't find or by a registry change...?!
Hello,
i own a Desire S. I disabled the Networktraffic, by erasing the APN under settings. I only use the WLAN to access the internet.
Beneath the clock on the home screen there is the Weather information form my Location. This Weather information is changing from sunny to cloudy and so on.
I wonder where the data for this information is comming from. I thought I disabled all Networkconnections. I haven't turn on the WLAN-Connection for 4 or 5 days and the Weather Information is still uptodate.
I don't understand where the Data for the Weather Information is comming from or haven't I turned off the network connections complety?
I installed Stats free and it has 0 KB in the "2G/3G/4G Network"
Can someone explain this to me?
Regards
Felix

when the weather widget receives data it receives data for the next 4 days i think that is the answer to your question
You don't have to delete the APN. Just uncheck(turn off) Mobile Network from quick settings.
And yes, when you update the weather, it receives data for current day and the next 4.
thanks for the answers.
btw, is there a way to delete the weater animation from the homescreen and only keep the digital clock?

Untick Show Full Screen Animation in the weather options.

If you want to want to remove the full screen weather effects then long press and then drag the the clock homescreen widget down to the EDIT, and after selecting the city you'll be able to un-tick the "Show full screen animation" option.
If you want to remove simply the weather from underneath the clock widget then I don't think that this is possible with this HTC widget.
So you'll have to find a different widget, HTC have the one with the weather oor a similar one with Facebook updates....
There are other similar style clock widgets that you'll find in the market without any weather, I think that theres one like this in the Beautiful Widgets (free or lite) set.
it's happened quite a few times now with various weather/clock widgets (Simi Clock, Beweather, Beautiful Widgets Clock Weather) that they show a different time than what Android shows in the status bar.
Just now, the BeWeather weather clock widget has gotten stuck at 18.38. I can fix this with a reboot but it's annoying and I don't want to have to keep rebooting.
Any ideas?
hey there !
it sounds like you've either supercharced your phone or check the option of "lock homescreen in memroy".
the first one is a script that you can run and makes you save the home screen as-is.
either way there's an option to disable it to stop the "supercharge" nor uncheck the option on rom settings.
Hi,
Is it possible to set my default Gear S3 view to a custom widget instead of the main clock?
For example: whenever I open a widget, it stays on my screen until the screen timesout (15 seconds for me). When I turn my wrist, it takes me to the clock instead of the widget I was previously viewing.
Would anyone happen to know how I can configure this watch so that the last opened app / widget is shown after waking up my watch? I don't care about the clock feature itself... in fact, I'd rather just uninstall it & have my custom widget as the primary screen.
Thanks
I set by mistake wrong city in "home time zone" menu, in the HTC clock.
As my home city is not in the home time zone cities list, how to restore clock settings to previous values, so I don't display wrong city.
I tried deleting data for the HTC clock app, but home time city is still there.
Thank you in advance, to those who will be able to help.

In the menu inside app there are an option: Set Home Time Zone
Try to disable "Travel Mode" under Settings->Date & time
