I rooted my TBolt the same day I got mine and it never worked. I'm 99% sure my wife's was able to access that menu before I rooted hers too. It could have been a timing coincidence though and I just got lucky when I happened to try.

From two years experience with HTC, that's what I thought was the issue too. That is, their servers that host this either suck or are low-priority (to HTC).
On the other hand, I'm almost positive that a week or two ago, it did NOT work on either my wife's T-Bolt or mine (both running Sky Raider) but it DID work on my old Eris. Others have suggested they query your phone model before serving pages (??).

That was how it worked on the eris. Back when 2.1 first leaked for the eris, the get more would not work until just before the official build went live.

Anybody else listing their thunderbolt?

I just listed mine on Craigslist in anticipation of the SGSII coming to VZW.
I'm really really hoping it'll have 4G because I don't want to come back to the tbolt or have to deal with the bionic (unless the bionic is unlockable).
What about you guys? Anybody else selling to get top dollar before the new phones are officially announced?
Edit: http://www.androidpolice.com/2011/0...according-to-the-vzw-support-twitter-account/ woot, sgs2 will have 4g!
Lol, what if it's delayed I may sell mines eventually as well, I hate Samsung but this phone is a beast.

Yeah, I'm worried about it being delayed too :\
Fortunately, I have an old Incredible laying around that I can use in the meantime. I really hope VZW doesn't drop the ball here and delay it past early September. As far as I can tell, that tweet is VZW's first admission that the sgs2 for VZW even exists.

After hearing that it will have 4G, I might be tempted to sell my TBolt once it launches. I also am not a fan of samsung phones, but this thing really makes me drool.
i'll probably wait until next march(when my 1st year is up) as ill get my $400 deposit back then.
As a previous owner of the fascinate, I am definitely with you guys on the anti-Samsung bandwagon. The thing that has changed my mind is that Samsung has said that the sgs2 is practically made for Ice Cream Sandwich. That gives me hope that they will be updating it relatively quickly once ICS is released.
Also, the fact that they gave the sgs2 to some of the CM devs makes me think they are more consumer focused than they were the first go 'round.

All good points, I forgot they hooked up some devs with phones. I still have nightmares about my Captivate. This phone is in a completely different league though.
To be honest with you I want my next phone to be great out of the box. I never thought I would reach a point that I would be tired of rom flashing, lol. I could slap lpp on top of touchwiz and would be good to go.
Still love my bolt though, we'll see.

It's also the first and only android phone with a completely open sourced linux kernel (no linked binary blobs for drivers in it).
Selling your phone off for this right now is silly though. Who knows when it'll be out for CDMA/LTE. It could be another 5-6 months at the earliest.
The Galaxy S2 having 4G is still unconfirmed.

back button problem after 12 months, should I replace?

So I was one of those that got the nexus s when it first released. Ordered it online from bestbuy.
At the very beginning, the back button was not sensitive enough. I thought that it was a software problem, but I did read somewhere on this forum that you can tighten the screw at the back of the phone. Now I am not sure if it is the tightening or software updates, enter it was problem free for almost a year.
In the last month, however I have started to notice that the back button has gone the other way, and that it is now either freezing or flashing randomly. I have tried many roms and also 2.35 2.36 and also 2.37 and the problem is always still there randomly.
My conclusion is that it is hardware, now I can have the whole screen and digitizer replaced or I can just sell the whole thing. The biggest problem is that Samsung Hong Kong where I am does not want to help to replace, which means that I will have to do it myself. I have never done it before and think that I might fudge it up. Should I just sell it or try the replacement myself?

The main problem is that I am no longer in the states so no best buy for me. The repair shops here are all quite dodgy. I would not trust to keep my phone with them over night. They would strip it for parts. I really like this phone and I got lots of accessories that go with it, don't really want to sell it.

I don't really use mine out of the fact that I only bought the wifi version. I would sell mine and probably turn around and buy the 4g version so it can be used on the move. It is a great thing to have around, but would love to have the ability to use it anywhere vice at school and home only. As of right now, I use mine once a week...maybe. Back when I bought it, I used it every single day. Developed for it, ported themes and such..then as soon as I got it set to the way I liked it, it just sits there.
If you got wifi tethering on your phone you could use that. It would save you getting a new device. As long as you got your phone you got data.

I use mine as much as possible. I also make sure to get every byte of data I paid for on my plan. I spend too much time at my stupid job to not get everything out of every penny I spend. If I could figure out a way for this sucker to mine bitcoins or something when I am not using it, I would!

As of right now the T-Bolt is not officially supported by Cyanogen and what we have know is just a port that a 3rd party made for us, but don't worry! There is news that CM9 should not have problems with the T-Bolt / VZW 4G LTE devices, and it has been confirmed that they are working on CM9 for the T-Bolt (That will be officially supported by them, which then will give us nightly's).

I never really expected this to happen after observing all the work from the devs on it. ICS has always ran kinda wishy washy for me. I mean it works and all, but there are definitely some performance issues and bugs no matter which rom you use. Verizon nor HTC intends to release a shoddy product. It either has to work 100% or not at all. If ICS cant run as well as GB did, then it aint gonna happen.
I wish I had a dollar for all the false rumors that have been posted about ICS, I'd buy Verizon and have enough left over to keep me in booze and hookers for the rest of my life!
I think this is one more dollar in my stash....

If that were the case though, the thunderbolt would've ran well from launch day, which anyone who had one since then will say that it didn't. Originally the battery life was horrendous and had to be fixed by an OTA.

So let's see if I understand this... the OFFICIAL WORD from Verizon AND from HTC is that the Thunderbolt will or will not get ICS and will get it within the next two days or later than that or never.
Does that about cover it? <G>
Honestly, I don't see what all the flap is about? ICS doesn't offer anything I need or want other than (I HOPE!) a better kernel for the Devs to work with.
Meanwhile, NuSense works for me and the BAMF leak works for me if I want ICS and, if I want Gingerbread, Infected ROM works for me and Thunderstick BB works for me along with a bunch of other ROMs I've tried.
Was at Verizon today, Reps informed me there will be no ICS for our phones...Cant say I'm surprised...my upgrade is in January, not going to worry about it .. Can't believe they state we would get the upgrade, then renege ..
If Apple can upgrade their older model Iphones for several years , why can' t our Android phones do the same.. and no I'm not switching..
