Can someone tell me what the U and P in radio naming is for? I thought it is maybe for US area and Pacific area. I'm in Germany and currently I have the radio with U in the name. Before I had the same with P in the name and I haven't noticed any difference.
I mean this: 10.58.9035.00U_10.15.9035.02_2 and 10.58.9035.00P_10.15.9035.02_2.
Thank you!
There's no difference, but it is something to do with a setting in the ROM. Same file, though
You know which setting? And what it is about?
No idea, all I know is when I used InsertCoin once it had P but running my own ROM it says U. I'm guessing it's something to do with US settings as opposed to UK
Ultimately it makes no difference as the phone works the same way
I'm in Germany. With stock ROM I had P and with different custom ROMs I have mostly U, but some custom ROMs had also P... Strange.
Must be locality settings, but I would've thought you'd have U being in the EU as most ROMs are based on EU RUUs
No! When my european HTC Sensation was freshly delivered it shows a radio (don't remember version) with P in baseband information.
What do you mean no? I've given you a reason. Chances are the ROM is the issue as, like I said, when I used InsertCoin it showed P and back to my own ROM it shows U
It makes no difference, but if you're THAT bothered go ask the dev that made the ROM you're using
Sorry mate, I won't anger you! That was not my purpose.
I only meant "no" to your thought that the U is for european ROM cannot be correct, because when I bought my european HTC Sensation there was a P in the name.
And this is no bothering, I just want to learn and find out what the letter in the radio means...
That's cool

Hi people!
I have a problem with my touch pro Branded H3G Ita..
I decided to flash the energy rom and it work really good, but the problem that i have depends on the radio version(1.02.25.23). I'd like to flash the radio but, surfing on this forum, i didn't understand if is possible to dump it or download it ( without a radio backup on my pc i can't flash the radio because of the warranty).. does anybody can hel me?
Thanks to all
Mr.Gab
That Radio can be found in this thread (post #3) http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=470306
and of course here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=439566
But flashing a stock ROM in case of warranty usually also installs a stock Radio.
Oh Wait, you are looking for 1.02.25.23? Sorry, I read 1.02.25.32. I'm afraid I can't help you then.
yes... the problem is that i'm looking for 1.02.25.23 Thanks anyway

It doesn't look like that revision of the radio even exists, or maybe its just not listed in the Sticky posts or Wiki page.
I did find a ROM download on the Italian HTC site.
I can't make head or tails out of it because I can't read Italian. So I can't tell you which radio version is included.
Here is the link.
[edit]Its asking for the serial number of the phone.[/edit]
Give it a try.
Hope this helps.

Thank you very much but... no way
a region specific radio? haven't quite heard of that before. energyrom doesn't install a radio so i don't think that's your problem unless you flashed another one. and if it isn't on this site, then, you're in for a rough ride. dl the stock rom and dump it and extract the rilphone and radio. if you never flashed a radio, i think the rilphone may be your problem. just google on how to dump rom's.
either that, or hope you get lucky and someone here just happens to have that radio and rilphone lying around.

Italian rom
http://www.htc.com/it/supportdownloadlist.aspx?p_id=140&act=sd&cat=2
This is the support section of the htc site...You will need to give specifics about your phone...rom version..your service provider...and what you are wanting to do...As I understand you have a touch pro GSM phone that you want to flash energyrom..you are worried that your warranty will not apply considering you have a specific radio version.
Now first thing is have you called your phone provider or service provider to see if you download italian rom from htc if it will void the warranty??
If you flash energyrom...your radio will not change

Unfortunately YES .. Thanks for the offer
Sorry about all this, but I have some questions that hopefully someone can help me out with.
First, is there a thread somewhere that has all the available usable radios? I ask because I noticed that a lot of these roms state that you should use a specific radio for their roms?
Will flashing a new radio every time you flash a new rom break something...like gps, data etc.?
Also is the current stock radio listed anywhere?
My radio is listed as : 12.39.60.19P_26.06.04.06_M ... is that this the current stock radio?
Thanks

1. Yes currently it resides in the Desire HD section, because these phones are virtually the same with a few exceptions. I will post the link as soon as I find it.
2. the possiblity is there but to my knowledge this isn't a general problem.
3. Yes it is listed and if I remember correctly it is the stock radio.

I'm a bit curious...
My radio is listed as 12.39.60.19U_26.06.04.06_M (since I've used the hack kit with provided radio).
What is the difference between the P and the U at the end of the baseband model number?
Thank you for the radio thread think, that's excellent.

I've seen this a lot around this forum. It seems people get either U or P when flashing the stock radio. Even more interesting, when I flash back to stock with the RUU I get an H. The MD5 of the radio in both the RUU and the hack kit are the same though, so I've been curious how we get different revisions of the "stock" radio?
Hmmmm....That is interesting...
I used the attn1 hack and twopumpchump's v1 ROM and my radio is the P also. I wonder if there is any differences in the radios due to the H, P, or U codes .
Maybe that is why some people have problems with their GPS working with the different ROMs and others with the exact same ROMs don't have any GPS problems......Hmmmmm......

Did you super cid? I believe doing so would keep carrier updates from being sent to your device.
ok, thanks pal
maybe you know, where can i find newest official htc rom?
i'll try supercid and htc rom after that

Sorry... I think you misunderstood me. I was asking if you were already super cid'ed. Because if you were, that would explain why you were not receiving system updates from your carrier.
Setting your CID to super CID will not help you in this matter.
Ok, now undersdand.
I'm not sure did i replace cid or not.
How to check my current cid?
And finally how to rollback original cid. I'm in o2 uk

Here is how I know to check the CID on your device (and a lot of other details):
Code:
adb shell cat /proc/cmdline
That should result in a lot of text on your terminal. You want to find the value that follows: "androidboot.cid="
If you are super CID, it will be a bunch of ones (like 1111111) and nothing else.
I'll get back to you on the thread for a list of valid CIDs.
Thanks a lot.

Here is the thread that provides the most help for what you're trying to accomplish (at least from what I assume).
In it there is a mention of another thread where CIDs are being collected.
hth...
i can confirm that i had cid 1111111 in my phone.
i changed it first time for valid o2 cid but still not got any updates, then replaced for htc cid but still any updates got.
btw i'm sure, htc has released 2.3.4 for my device, and i'm stuck by 2.3.3
ok, last question
where can i find not branded, latest original htc rom?

I think this is the best there is for finding stock ROMs.
There is a FileFactory link in the 1st post (or right here) for a grip of RUU files. Those will contain the original distributions from the various carriers.
I wish I was able to point you to the correct one, but I really have no idea.
Happy New Year!
Okay, so anyone here still on FROYO?? And I nid some help if I should flash to DXKP9 or not. THX!!
I'm pretty sure DXKP9 is just an Asia-specific version for XXKPQ.
and flashing to GB depends on you.
I've just read and confirmed that GB has dark video recording. If you're not bothered by that, flash it.
Just read up or find some comparison videos on YouTube.

And y are so many people on XXKPQ?? And are there any improvements from FROYO to DXKP9? I am on my custom ROM based on FROYO now... THX!!
Yeah, I'm on KB4 and haven't been offered any updates for my UK unlocked I9003.
I know that I can upgrade to GB using Odin, but I'm reluctant to flash non-UK firmware onto the device. It seems only Russian ROMs are available on samfirmware.com
I did complain to Samsung UK and they've confirmed that GB is coming, but they can't say when. I don't actually think there have been any UK updates since May 2011, so I have no idea what they're playing at.

Many are on XXKPQ since most of the mods/ROMs/themes being developed at the moment (with the exception of some, e.g. CM9, CM7 (?) and MIUI(?)), are based on this firmware.
DXKP9 is Gingerbread-based, so there's bound to be improvements. You can try Googling the differences.

you can try taking note of your firmware (is it a DX (e.g. DXKP9)? an XX(e.g. XXKPM, XXKPN)? or something else?), then try to find the firmware in the Web when you want to downgrade back to Froyo.
It's a shame that Russian ROMs are available. But it's better than nothing.

The phone reports my firmware versions as
PDA: I9003XWKB4
PHONE: I9003XXKB1
CSC: I9003XXKB2
I haven't been able to find any reference to this firmware anywhere on the net, except one thread on an italian forum and one on a spanish forum complaining the same about the lack of updates. If I could find a copy of this firmware I'd probably give one of the russian gingerbreads a try because I could always go back.
As I understand it, there isn't a nandroid backup for the I9003 working - and even when nandroid does work, it can be dodgy if partitions change format type or the bootloader is changed (so I've heard).
I have also read up on how to make your own Odin-flashable ROM by dumping your own firmware, but I'd have no idea if I done the procedure properly until I had to use the backup - and by then it'd be too late.
So right now I'm hoping that Samsung UK will get their act together and release the GB firmwares that everyone else in the world already seems to be enjoying
So now my question is do u tink I shud update to DXKP9 or XXKPQ?? And if I shud which firmware should I update to?
For me I wouldn't do it unless I can get a backup of my current ROM that I know will work in the event of problems with the flash.
If that issue doesn't bother you, and you're not bothered about voiding your warranty, then just flash whatever you like the look of best - but follow the instructions to the letter. As I understand it, you can't flash from Froyo straight to the latest GB version as the older ROMs contain three files and the newer ones only one.
If you were going with European ROMs (XX) you'd have to flash KPE twice first before flashing KPQ. So I'm told. I've not tried it, at your own risk etc.

I haven't tested the Samsung warranty. But didn't have any problem with Motorola and Sony-Ericsson when my Moto C385 and my SE K610 stoped working. The both services fixed me the phones without problems.
So, if I where you I'll flash the phone with XXKPQ (is what I done hehe)
update to KPQ if you are alright with dim recording of video... IMO its not really that bothersome
KPQ has the highest amount of developer support, but now it seems that most 2.3.6 firmwares work well with stuff designed for kpq, so take a pick! I for one do not find any difference between different regions 2.3.6 roms like xxkpq,ddkp2 etc is there actually any difference or is it just region specific versions?
Oh kay... Thanks
More people are using KPQ and more mods are made for it, so KPQ is a good choice
Hi Team,
Coming from a Nexus 4 . I am about to buy the Oneplus ( chinese Variant ) preloaded with CM11s . Reason for buying this variant is that the international version is no where to be found in the country. Before picking up the phone i have a few question
1-) Besides the OS are there any other hardware level changes in amongst the two variants ?
2-) Will the preloaded CM11 get OTAs ?
3-) Will i be able to flash the custom roms which are for the international version on the chinese variant ? ( this is a big concern )
4-) How would you rate the phone overall out of 10 ( just for fun )
This has been asked a few time already but here goes:
1.) Besides the "Cyanogenmod" branding on the back of the device and a slight variation of supported LTE bands there are NO hardware differences.
2.) There is no reason it shouldn't,mine did, came with CM11s installed on a Chinese variant, and had an OTA update as soon as i turned it on.
3.) YES absolutely
4.) 9.0 - 9.5 IMO
PS: Depending on where you reside you might just wanna look into the LTE bands situation to ensure the device will work with your carrier.
Hope that help.
