Hey Thanks Lithid.. I did a search for dta2sd and dtapps2sd and Dark Tremor and it either brought up nothing found or threads of u stalking about it.
If a Mod can delete this thread that would be cool

no problem, I myself hated searching thru threads looking for the download link. I couldnt find the actual post using Search and posted it up here.. Lithid did bring it to my attention though the actual link for the Script which is awesome so im hoping a mod can delete this thread and maybe make that script a sticky as it is very very useful and I know as more people will want this script

In my experience, I'd recommend not moving data to SD: many users have noticed performance suffers when doing this. You'll gain plenty of space just moving apps and dalvik, it may not be worth the hit to move data as well.
Also, I think you left out a key step: for this to work, you have to partition your SD card beforehand--might include that in your guide. I do this from AmonRa recovery (32mb cache, 2048mb ext2, then convert ext2 to ext3, then flash everything.)
I don't know if this thread will get removed in favor of the older one, but in case anybody else stumbles in here, it's worth having these points noted, imo.
edit to add: complete setup guide here (post#2 in the dtapps dev thread)

I use simple2ext (s2e) with CM7. It's an app that handles the script for you, simpler and with a nice GUI (you still have to partition SD yourself beforehand.) Same dev has another nice app called FreeSpace that you might want to check out as well.

Thanks for the info.

Ok so i followed all the steps to partition and then flashed the latest zip and rebooted. Now i cant find most of my apps which i presume to be on the partitioned part of my SDcard. My question is how do i get to them to use them? i tried redownloading TB so i could reinstall but that doesnt even show up in my apps drawer. Could someone explain to me where i went wrong and I apologize if this has already been mentioned. I did do a thread search and could not find the info I was looking for...
Im running Synergy RLS1 if that makes a difference with stock kernel.

Do I need to do this everytime I install new apps or do I just need to reboot my phone and it will work automatically?

Hey brother,i love this mod,i was definitely having memory problems before i installed this.Excelent work.There is a little app that was developed to help people that don't know how to use ADB.... A2sdgui and heres the flashable zips.. Flashable Zip

I don't think that one is valid anymore but was used on the older versions. Here are all the current commands...not sure if you are trying to move cache or data. "nocache" moves it to internal storage and nocacherest will move it as well as rebuild davik on reboot....cachesd moves to sdcard

can you convert ext 3 to ext 4 after everything is installed or will it wipe the SD partition and mess up my rom install?

Here's a link to a gui interface for a2sd. To really use this you need a class6 sd and sd speed increase from market.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=991684
Contains a complete write up on usage of a2sd.
Been using it for over a year. Since day one of my root. 700 mb ext partition.

Or maybe give this a shot too?

Cool Sorry if this is a retarded question, but do I have to re-partition my SDcard if I'm coming from a different build? (cyanogen's)

please link me to the Weather.apk file....i can't find it
This is running great... the existing apps were transfered to sd but now it tells me insufficient memory... any ideas.
how can i change that lock screen to default from v1?
beta 2 full running better than any hero build ive used so far especially after apps2sd, im not sure if its just me, but am i the only one getting "The process android.process.acore has stopped unexpectedly." whenever clicking on a facebook synced contact's photos? i know i keep asking this on threads but no one seems to answer me except the one person before who said it worked fine for them on a hero build...

how can i change lock screen wallpaper to original?
how do we get the weather to work
My keyboard isnt showing up in full version
Not sure which I downloaded earlier when first released today, but I had 7mb left, which makes it a hog to run (not a fan of apps2sd, sd is just as slow).
We need to make a list of files with dependencies and which dont have any. I deleted about 15 or 16 files and had no problems yet, with 20mb free. I would like to delete more but some have wierd names so I dont know if they are requried by other files.
(IE. GoogleTalkService, I thought worked with the talk app. Nope, dont delete. I also read the IM.apk cannot be deleted because its required by gnabb or something?)

its gonna say either force close or wait just choose wait and everything should work fine
Anyway to change the fruity lock screen?
it gives no option to wait, it just says force close, about 6 or 7 pop ups.
Do you have to set up directories for app, private app, and dalvik, or does the program do that for you.
i had this working on first hero rom.

[Safestrap]UnofficalV.2 **Safe strap is having issues please be patient**

*please hold off use of safe strap until further notice. I promise you we are hard at work on it************************************************************There is a new version at the bottom of the post. Please uninstall recovery from with in your currently installed v.1 then uninstall safestrap app. Download and install v.2 and install recovery. If you already have a safe system installed you will need to reflash the zip and wipe data/factory reset. Thanks Jim for the fix! There are now 2 different versions 1 for those not running jims webtop hack and one for those of you that are. Please download the safestrap appropriate for your setup at the bottom of the page. ********************************************************************************************************************************************************************************
What works?
-Everything except mounting usb in recovery.
-Cant seem to format safe system /data
Here it is!!! Our very own Unofficial safestrap recovery!
Whats this mean? Custom rom's!!! CM7 CM9 etc! And no more fxz or cwm on every boot just to save from a softbrick.
How'd we do it?
This was a pain in the A**, Jimbridgeman and myself have worked our butts off on this. We changed the recovery.fstab around so that we are able to use the sd card as a mount point to install the /system partition as well as a separate partition for /data. So in laymen's terms, were booting from the sd.
How to Install -(From Windows)
(Partition sizes are up to you but ext3 partition should be no less then 350mb and the second fat partition should be not less then 500mb)
1.Backup your sdcard
2.Format your sdcard from your phone under settings-storage
3.Put your sdcard into some kind of card reader and place into computer
4.Download, install, and open Mini Tool http://www.partitionwizard.com/free-partition-manager.html
5. Right click on your sd card, click resize

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
6. Re size so that you have at least 850mb left "Unallocated"
7.Click OK
8.Click apply changes
9.Right click on unallocated partition and select create
10. Click Yes
11.I went with 1gb, this is the data partition, It needs to be at least 500mb and your settings must match mine. Primary,Fat32
12.Click apply changes
13.Right click on unallocated space, select create
14.Click Yes
15. This is the System partition and needs to be at least 350mb, Your settings must match mine. Ext3,Primay
16.Click on apply changes.
17.Click Yes.
18.You are all done! Should look something like this.
Now to install the safestrap
http://db.tt/y6xKucmg (V.2)
http://db.tt/RzY6VJTi (V.2-Running webtob hack)
Special thanks to jimbridgeman and hashcode. (JIM... I LOVE YOU!!!)
Head down below and click the thanks button, then head over to jimbridgeman's profile and click thanks again!

I'm assuming that like with the razr if you are using the bootstrap with on boot you have to remove it before installing the safe strap version?
Thank you
I knew it was only a matter of time!!!!!!
Thank you guys
A link worth sharing http://hash-of-codes.blogspot.com/p/how-to-safestrap.html , this is the original safestrap for D3 and RAZR done by hashcode , take a look at his blog to understand more about safestrap if you are a noob like me.
but there is only one question i need to understand using this hack can we install roms on the 1st system ( device memory ) or just on the 2nd system ( SD Card ) ?
This is what I have been using instead of the bootstrap, to use my custom ROMS... it will allow you to use your paid version of CWM the way it should be used. You can now go into CWM and select boot to CWM or flash from sdcard while still in android, and it will boot you into CWM and start flashing....
Thanks for all your hard work!

So essentially, this is a dual boot system of sorts? This allows me to install a custom ROM and run it in Safe mode then go back to my factory ROM by turning off Safe mode?

[MOD][How to] CWM On Every Boot w/GPS Working

CWM ON EVERY BOOT WITH GPS WORKING
What Is This??
This is a mod to achieve ClockWorkMod Recovery on Every reboot/boot with a fully functioning GPS. So far this is the only method to have CWM On boot without breaking GPS.This methos uses IBMc PowerBoost 2.0.
Things you will need:
1. Jrummy16's BusyBox Installer (download on market)
2. Download PB-2dot0_final.zip and place on sdcard
3. Terminal Emulator (download on market)
INSTRUCTIONS:
Step 1. Reboot into CWM using Atrix Bootstrapper and
Step 2. flash PB-2dot0_final.zip and reboot
Step 3. Once rom loads up , uninstall AtrixBootstrapper or set permissions in SuperUser for it to "denied" (i would uninstall AtrixBootstrapper after quickly setting to deny,you wont need it)
Step 4. Download Jrummy16's Busybox Installer from market,open it,and click install. You want to install latest 1.19 Busybox over 1.17 that you probably have. looks like this:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
Step 5. Open Terminal emulator and type the following one line at a time,hitting ENTER after each line is typed:
su
mount -o rw,remount /dev/block/mtdblock3 /system
chmod 755 /system/xbin/powerboost
powerboost
now you should see this:
Step 6. It will ask you if you want it to install Jrummy16's BusyBox Installer,just type N for "No" and hit enter as we already installed this.
Step 7. Now it will Prompt you to select a number. type in 5. "CWR On Every Boot"
Step 8. After "Installation Complete" only takes about 2 seconds, you will type 8 for a Reboot,and type Y for yes.
Step 8. Enjoy!
If you like my work,hit the thanks button,if not,hit the back button : P
If you plan on using this in your projects all i ask is for you to simply credit me in your OP.

Question. Does the bug still exist wherein the battery discharges completely and the phone is unable to regain a charge with CWM on Recovery script installed? I haven't personally experienced this because I've never let my battery drain. I've seen it posted in another thread.

I can't get the script to stick. After I do the setup and reboot, I boot into CWM like it should, but once I power off and boot again it just boots normally. I followed the directions exactly, and tried the process again, but the same results.
I assume it's because I'm not creating this script where it wants to go. Any advice or help? Thanks
I should note that I'm on stock 3.6 and have only rooted and installed the bootstrapper previously.

I typed it just as it is, and even done it in adb shell with copy and paste, but it would never create the init.d folder or the 99cwr script. So I opened root explorer to see what was going on. The system was mounted as rw, but it just wouldn't create it. So I made the init.d folder myself and ran powerboost again and it created the 99cwr script, but still, normal bootup. I guess it needs to be called during boot or whatever, but idk where to set that. Any suggestions or advice? Thanks

It's because the stock ROM doesn't have init.d support. Flash this then try again.
Nice! That was it. Everything works as it should now. Thanks

has anyone besides henchen (sorry if i butchered that) been able to get this to boot i cant even get m4xm4n cm7 to load up get stuck in heimdall frontend.
I don't believe m4xm4n's cm7 is formatted correctly to use the frontend. You will have to use cmdline heimdall (at least that's what I did). If you want a walkthrough, easiest way for me to help you would be for you to hop on the #teamnerd IRC channel.

Here's the wiki page. Both front-end and cli are there. It's really simple once you figure it out. I've been back and forth between MTD and BML a lot.

I just put the efs backup and restore .zips,the update.zip, and the latest gapps zip on the root of the sd card. I then ran the cm efs backup through recovery. Then follow this:
Windows specific
Put your phone into Download Mode and leave it connected via USB
Extract the Heimdall Suite files
Browse to the folder you extracted them to and open the Drivers folder
Run zadiag
Go to Options > List All Devices
In the dropdown, select "Samsung USB Composite Device"
Click on Install Driver and close zadiag
Click to expand...
Click to collapse
Then i opened up a cmd prompt (windows 7), navigated to where i had unzipped the heimdall suite to, and ran
Code:
heimdall flash --kernel boot-05-10-2012B.img
BE SURE THAT THE BOOT.IMG IS IN THE SAME FOLDER AS WHERE YOU UNZIPPED HEIMDALL SUITE. Then after that, you should just be able to follow this:
Flashing CyanogenMod 7
Do a factory reset
CWM Main Menu > wipe data/factory reset
You might get a format volume error. It's normal, continue
Format and mount /system
CWM Main Menu > mounts and storage
format /system
mount /system
Flash cm7-efs-restore.zip
Flash the cm7 rom zip you downloaded, and the latest version of google apps
Reboot and enjoy CM7.

I am not sure about previous versions of Windows - but on Windows 7 you can hold shift and right-click on the folder you want the command prompt to open and select 'Open command window here'. Or open the folder and you can hold shift and right-click anywhere inside the folder and select 'Open command window here'.
Command prompt will open and you will be where you want to be.

That implies T-Mo is responsible if people brick their phones. And that bugs me to no end. I mean like to the point of really bugging the hell out of me. Anything we do is at our own risk.

well i thought the "lol" made it clear i was joking ... but i guess it's a bit confusing for any noob reading so i'll modify it to keep my joke but make it clear it's everyone for themselves lol .
I'd put it on Sammy's responsibility, for giving us such a hard time porting ROMs for this complicated device.

[Q] Need a little help regarding my htc explorer

hello guys hope you all are fine.
I am on stock ROM but my phone is rooted and I have made a ext partition of my memory card and using it with link2sd and I am going to install cm9 build 14 on my phone.You will need this information to answer my questions.
I have some questions in my mind so please help me.
1.in cm9 thread there's written that "Make sure you're running a proper working ClockworkMod-Recovery".I thinks so I am using yannou90 recovery so will I able to flash this rom or first I have to install this recovery from this link http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2168725 ?
2.i am little bit confused between these 4 memory scripts (D2EXT+,INTEXT+,Mounts2sd,ungaze) or you can suggest me any better memory script and please include the link of the script.
please answer my questions I am a complete noob.
This is my first post so If i have posted in wrong section please move it to right section
Thanks in advance.
You've nailed the section, congrats
Now jokes asaid, your recovery is perfectly fine to flash whichever rom you wan't, the warnning is there for another reason, way back (1.5 years or something) there was some not succesfull attemppts with cwm(original one, not the one that you have)...... so don't worry, just follow instructions.
Now about your second question, I personnaly prefer mounts2sd becouse it has more options, the other scripts that you mentioned don't have this much options, but on the other hand, they are simpler to use and won't give you headakes if you play with them(mostly becouse you just can't). Also in my signature is really good explenation about memory scripts, check it out if you have some time
three more question.I saw a video on YouTube of installing cm9 in pico.He also wiped his cache partition so is it compulsory to do this? and the second is will i lose all my apps and ext partition after installing cm9 and the third question i have 1.5 gb of ext partition how can I extend it to 2gb.

Hey, Let me try to answer your queries.
1. Its better to wipe your cache partition. I dont know if its "necessary" or not but i always prefer to wipe it and have a clean flash of rom.
2. Start using Titanium Backup app. It will backup your apps+data to a particular folder in memory card. copy that folder in PC, after u r done with flashing just install titanium backup again and put the copied folder back in memory card. You wont lose your apps.
3. to expand 1.5 gb, use "ease us partition manager". its very user friendly. simply remove 500 mb from ur fat32 card and merge it with 1.5gb partition with correct extension.

I have already made the backup of my apps don't need their data.as i already mention that i am using link2sd on my stock rom so I also want to clean my ext partition how will I do this? should I also wipe dalvik cache? I have also made a nandroid backup of my pico.
I have to DO A DATA WIPE / FACTORY RESET before flashing cm9 or after flashing cm9
Check out this video.. click here
and in the instruction there's said " DO A DATA WIPE / FACTORY RESET (otherwise your device will be stuck at boot)" I have to do this after flashing rom and gapps right?
No u have to do it before
BEFORE flashing roms you should wipe EVERYTHING! After that, it's just not needed.
All set I have flashed cm9 build 14 in my pico thanks all for guiding me,Now I want to use mounts2sd script and there's written no app should be installed before flashing mount2sd,I was setting up my WiFi.My phone automatically updated the google play store to 4.x.x and also installed google play store services so what should I do now first uninstall the update and google play store services and then flash the mounts2sd or just flash mounts2sd without uninstalling anything?
Small suggestion
why don't you try DroidSail Super App2SD Lite to move apps from Phone to SD it Pops a Notification whenever a new App is Installed here the link https://play.google.com/store/apps/...DMsImNvbS5kcm9pZHNhaWwuZHNhcHAyc2QiXQ..:good:

Flash it without uninstalling anything. But I'd recommend the play store version of mounts2sd which has a GUI

I can't view the image but the play store version is the same app and can be updated like any other app. Flashable version must be configured from terminal as it doesn't include a GUI
It should, if it doesn't you can always flash the other version, personally I haven't tryed it with cm 9(playstore mounts2sd I mean), but there should be no issues. Just if you have 'android is upgrading' after every boot (not the first) you can try setting, 'sd-ext type' to 'automatic' also you can dissable 'safemode' drom playstore app, but do that only if you have issues, if not this things are useles s
@ Sachin damn you're fast
