[Q] Little confused how to root and get this ROM?

I just got a sensation and I hear you can root phones, which is like jailbreaking my friend said, but for android phones. So I looked at roms, and I have to first be rooted to get them.

eek, wouldn't mention jailbreak, opening yourself up for a world of flaming, but if you read the stickies in the Dev section there is a noob proof guide to rooting your phone, and the instructions to flash the rom will be in the Roms thread!

Best guide Do steps 1 - 3 to S-off, Recovery and Root and do step 4 to also superCID phone meaning it can use ANY rom.

Yup! This is the best way to go about doing it. IT does look confusing but it's really rather straight forward when you get into it. shouldn't take you that long.
I went in not knowing a single thing about rooting/flashing/etc. This guide is the best place to start

[Q] Help! Can't Boot ICS Roms but I Can GB Roms

Like the title says, I have TWRP recovery and can boot gb roms just not ics. Any help would be appreciated

Are you s-off or HTC dev method? Assuming you are s-off, did you upgrade your firmware? If not go here and follow the instructions.firmware

hi guys i do have the HTC Sensation XE beats and i just want to ask if this is the right thread for me?
and also wanted to ask if "unlocking bootloader" will cause any trouble to the device if it is not succesful..

could u plz direct me or give me the step by ste tutorial from unlocking bootloader to rooting the XE..thanks
this is what i just needed unlocking, rooting and flashing custom recovery..
and oh by the way i nid also the procedure for downgrading and upgrading process..hoping for ur patience..sori for too much question..just new here in development thread for HTC,

you need to S-OFF the device if you want to downgrade
in S-ON you can't

i don't think so
just make the contact(during the wire trick) in the correct time so you can have S-OFF in less time

[Q] HTC One Mini Bootloader unlock and Root help 4.3

Hey there,
i was wondering if there was anyone who could help me with unlocking the bootloader and rooting my HTC One mini running android 4.3 and HTC Sense 5.5. Its an unlocked model from the UK. Im kind of new to this and was very confused and so am hoping someone here could give me or link me to a tutorial to do these things. If there is a similar post then i apologise for making another one.

Unlock your bootloader at htcdev.com. Then flash the twrp 2.6 and install the root if you want. You get a option to. Then if you want to s-off use the revone method or the rumrunner. I prefer the revone.

Hello there, Thanks for they reply! How do I flash twrp 2.6 and how do I install the root? I think I have seen tutorials for s-off so i'll be ok with that.

After you unlock bootloader, you can just google or search on the fourums on how to install twrp using cmd if you have windows.

[Completed] Restored to stock and now my screen insn´t working

Let me tell the hole story, I have a HTC One M7 TMobile. Unlocked it, rooted it and was trying to install google play version when i read that i would need s-off. I couldn't turn it s-off because my hboot is 1.57 and i didn't find any tool working on it. But then I saw a guide explaining how to install a custom rom without s-off tried to install venon and it failed. I realized I couldn't start the stock rom, so I entered in clockworkmod and flashed it from sideload. Now the stock rom started, but my screen isn't working.
Any help?
