[Q] market error: insufficient storage available. - Samsung Infuse 4G

Hey everyone.
I'm running the s7 rom and when I attempt to download a big game from the market it says "insufficient storage available" when I have 1.7 gigs available. Any ideas as to what is wrong? I had this problem with rogers stock rom a well, so I figured wiping everything would help, but I guess not.

I know this is a broad question but, how do we have GB? Is it built by devs using the samsung source code? Or from rogers?

Not quite - it's a flaw in Market 3.x - they changed from saving downloads to somewhere on /data to somewhere on /cache - /cache is only 30 MB or so.
It might affect Froyo too - but I'm not sure. Very few people are running Froyo.

Kernel - Samsung source code drop from opensource.samsung.com
Initramfs (part of kernel) - extracted from Rogers kernel then HEAVILY modified (to add Voodoo Lagfix, CWM, other stuff)
Userland (the ROM itself) - Rogers device dump
The exception is CM7 - that's mostly based on the Cyanogenmod source tree, but some of the low-level device-specific libraries are from the Rogers dump.

So going into recovery and wiping cache will last until that 30MB is filled again. then i will have to wipe it again??

I'm running stock froyo and problem is still here

That's correct from what I remember. I think the SGH-T959V_Opensource.zip was KC1, SGH-T959V_Opensource_Update1_Kernel.7z was KD1, and the last one is KJ6.

Any code a developer is working on should have a revision/version number, even if that code is not released. So it's possible to have a version of software that was never released.
What has my curiosity piqued is why it wasn't released. I might have to download it and see what the release notes (if any) say about the difference.

The update does include some lightning zap tweaks (battery life, smoothness, and permorfance).
But the ROM already has several tweaks written in to it which you can turn on/off. For now, by default, they are set to NOT run. However, I plan on changing that soon.

Testing all these ROMs are bound to start giving some people Gremlins So don't forget to format system(each flash), cashe (each flash), and do a factory reset every once and a while. That way we don't pollute the alogcat results with Gremlin problems instead of ROM problems.

[REQUEST] - ICS / ARIES / Linaro ROM

Any dev's feel like making a new ICS or even 4.1.2 or something with the new aries patches, linaro tool chain, etc for us that really need GPS and like the new ROM's and features but can't ever stay back for long. I've been in the middle of nowhere and had to flash a ICS just to get a GPS lock. lol. Rather not do that everytime I need GPS.
Seconded, i really wish for an updated AOKP ICS with aries built using linaro toolchain. Right now I'm stuck using FBis' AOKP milestone 6-5. I tried all ICS roms here but couldn't find any better (that offers a plethora of customizations and tweakings) and more stable than AOKP.

Sadly, last time I checked the AOKP ICS repos were still borked :/. Unless we can get a good build tree it'll be hard to push updates for the ICS version of AOKP.
Plus isn't it Aries that breaks GPS, not JB? An Aries ICS ROM would still have broken GPS if I'm not mistaken.

True, I didn't think of it that way. lol.
I don't expect the GPS to ever work on the Galaxy S 4G.
I picked up a Galaxy S Vibrant, due to is being similar to the GS4G yet having "official" CyanogenMod support.
Well, even with "official" builds of CyanogenMod or AOKP, the GPS still doesn't work on the Vibrant. Any time the device enters deep sleep, the GPS crashes. You basically have to reboot any time you want to use something that needs GPS.
And while I haven't experienced it, others have said that sometimes when you use the GPS, it hangs and eat up all the battery (just like Aries kernel on the GS4G).
Samsung abandoned these devices (and their customers) at Android 2, I don't know if the GPS issues will ever get fixed.

Yes although Aries itself brings a lot of improvements. You can even do bluetooth tethering and USB tethering works too .
In the end it's a matter of what features you use. The stability is there for mostly everything though.
