Infuse USA Kernel Sources released - Samsung Infuse 4G

Kernel Sources released for The Infuse Gingerbread platform for AT&T. NOW HDMI CAN BE SUPPORTED
SAMSUNG KERNEL SOURCE Just look for I997-Opensource the second link not link one

I wonder if Dman can use this in his new Zeus or even Nun in their new ROM

Think dman said he isn't a kernal dev so it won't appear in Zeus unless a kernal dev makes something from the code

What is the difference between SGH-I997_Opensource.zip and I997_Opensource.zip? The first one is dated May 2011 - I'm assuming that one is the FROYO kernel source?

The second is the gingerbread source

Maybe. I heard though you can use a modded cm7 somehow. Except its hard.
no kernel = dead in the water
Ha well for noob builders like me can use this to our advantage if we ever get a kernel.

Dman,
ICS is great and it has potential on our infuse. Don't get me wrong, I love the work you do but I am very sure that with ICS/some glimpse of hope, shown to the masses here at the infuse forums will uplift some people and stop at least some, nagging.

Exactly lol. I know ics is not all that special, its just the theme, launcher, and framework have been made to look very cool. This method is just so us noobs can try it if the kernel ever is avail.

You're right, your ported roms are much better than ICS.
Multitasking alone is enough reason to get ics, you don't have to belittle it just because we have no developers working on it

The Rom that Raver started had 4 bugs left in it, two of those have been fixed ( WiFi, ringtones ) the other two bugs I am not worried about ( haptic, video) The fixed version will not be released as it is out-of-date. The work on porting the newest GB MIUI build has begun and when that one is somewhat stable it will be release for testing and so on and so on. There are never any stupid questions, just repetitive ones.

You should talk to topprospect about this; he compiled a working (booting) AOSP rom from the msm8660 source before this was released. Here's a link to his current status on it -------> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=22523586&postcount=127

So wonderfully exciting.
My god, lg is trying to make a come back. its kinda working.
Did LG just ***** slap T-Mobile or what! This entire time T-mobile's reps have been trying to blame LG for the lack of ICS on the G2x when LG has said they were working on it and that T-mobile didn't want the update. So LG releases to source code and look at that seems like LG was actually doing what they said.

This combined with the comeback of the G2X on the Web Store of T-mobile...
We need to keep in mind a couple things.
1) LG Kernel source drops are rarely 100% ready to compile. The kernel experts will need time to fix all the loose ends that LG left when they ripped out things they don't want the outside world to see (it happens!) Also there may be bits and pieces that the kernel depends on to compile that are themselves proprietary and not included. Again, not a show stopper for the pros, but takes time to fix up and make into a compilable and working kernel.
2) Just because there are defines for p999 in the kernel doesn't mean that it contains full p999 support. It may or it may not. I'd be shocked if it does.
But it looks like we're golden for ICS .... Silver for JB? Hopefully if there are issues on JB with this then some of the better devs will at least give cm9 ICS a second look.
And hopefully this kernel dump will be better than previous for those of us unfortunate enough to have SOD/Reboots on anything but stock LG.
They released source for the P990 as well.
