I'm being "hacked" how can I stop this? - Samsung Galaxy S (4G Model)

I am 120% sure that someone that I live with is hacking into phone using droidsheep (I think that is what it is called) when I am on wifi. Is there a way to prevent this without having to stay off of wifi all together? Can I hide myself on there?? Please help!

thats not an option!

Factory reset? I dunno.

Look up ssh tunneling.
Look up vpn.

Arrange with a confederate to send weird emails back and forth about nonexistent meetings miles out of town at various motels and whatnot, sending the hacker on a series of wild goose chases?

Pretty sure the person hacking your phone is committing a crime. Threaten to call the police, or actually call the police...

+100 to this. Anybody living in your house not willing to respect your privacy should NOT be living there. If you're living with others who aren't willing to respect your privacy, then you should move.

Stop using the facebook app for now and use the browser version.
https://facebook.com
Notice that the URL won't start with http, but rather httpS. HTTPS encrypts your traffic and droidsheep can't snoop in on you. Once you start using facebook's encrypted site make sure you change your password just in case and only use the HTTPS site from now on.
I'm not sure if they have added HTTPS support in their app yet, but they really should.

Wow, genius!
I would suggest kicking his ass, if he keeps doing it. Kidding aside, Jay Aristide has a good point. If you know he's hacking you and you have evidence, you should report him and ruin him.

Because all of those sites are pirated. With the exception of a few like Netflix and Hulu, the streaming sites just host or index unlicensed uploads of videos. It's like pointing people to where they can get free Android apps. Obviously it's not hard to find them but it's also not the kind of thing moderators typically want on their forum.

Legality is not an issue, but forum etiquette is. You can mention sites but if its against forum rules, then its a faux pas.

The app that you don't have

Some days ago I opened a topic about the most useful app that you have on your phone, but... Is there an application that you would have on your phone but you haven't found yet?
Yes there is, but I am going to learn to write it and then I will share!
If you have a great idea either make it out find someone who can and share! There is opportunity out there and we need to be bold to grab it!

I can think of one but i need to learn to program so i can make a million dollars. And i think a lot of people would use it. I could tell you about it but then I would have to kill you.

Its quite possible, but as SimonTS pointed out, if you're managing your bank account on public wifi then you deserve to be hacked.
Public wifi is for light browsing, some facebook (facebook is secure), email, etc. Not for personal finances which can be easily tracked

Using your Android device on a public WiFi network is like using an iPad, iPhone, Blackberry, Laptop, etc on a public WiFi network. There's ALWAYS the possiblity of data theft. That's where common sense comes into the equation.

How can Android 'fix the problem'? The problem is caused by using sensitive data on a public network. The only way this sort of thing will ever be avoided is if your device immediately connects on a VPN back to a secure, trusted location for all data transfer - and even then someone sat in the ISP, on the backbone or with a powerful enough computer to crack the algorithm can still steal your data if they want to.
Trying to blame Android, Google or the App writers for this is just inane.
And again Thread Closed. OP do not make any more threads, of this nature. Thank you.

Just got it set up and now I can text from my surface. One thing that needs to be clarified is you need to have an android phone with texting capability. You need to have an android phone but once its set up, you can text from any browser and it uses that phone number.
Awesome - I have wanted to text from my computer.
A few thing to note - you need to set up the website as a trusted site in IE 10 on the desktop of surface and you need to add https:/ to it.
Thanks for the great app.
Yea the instructions are on the site. It's a pretty simple setup. It works great for when your phone is out of reach or if you're being lazy to reach for it.
As for Mr. What-does-this-have-to-do-with-the-Surface.. I'm just helping to add to the list of its capabilities while we deal with a limited app market. Take it or leave it.

I know, it never used to come up in chrome either, but now I get popups all the time. Another issue that this brings up is the adds that bring a popup on your screen to "speed up" your android device or that it has a virus, and you have to press cancel and know its an ad, this is not an issue for me however I fear my grandmother, who just got a tablet will download whatever app the ad will lead her to. Honestly this type of advertising should not be allowed and Google should prevent apps that advertise so aggressively from being in the play store, it may seem harsh, but its my opinion.
