I have run into a strange problem with my wife's MT4GS. I am able to add her work account and have syncing working properly. However when the acct. is installed her messaging app force closes and she is unable to send and receive texts.
I have contacted tmo and HTC, but neither seems to have a solution. I have tried doing a master reset and tried both k9 and touchdown.
Tmo claims the problem is that exchange is not compatible with 2.3.4. But I did get the account and messaging to work on my nexus.
Her grace period expires tomorrow so I'd like to either get this resolved or take the device back. She receives a data stipend for the phone so exchange access is mandatory.

I'm trying to setup Yahoo mail on my HTC Inspire. It keep saying Authentication Failed. I'm using the correct password. Tried 5 times, still getting the error. Please Help!!!.

Those settings worked for a while on both mine and my wife's phone. Mine rooted and her's non rooted. Eventually we started getting errors on both phones even with those proper settings. I ended up installing the Yahoo app from the market on both phones.

It is an issue with yahoo because of their security. Reason why I stopped using it years ago. They also will not give you the IMAP settings to set it up yourself and only offer pop3
My At&t rep made a store visit today and showed me this app. It's one app that displays your voice mails, texts and call log. I just installed it and got it setup, haven't messed with it that much but it looks cool.

I don't think it plays well with wifi. Since installing it my wifi times out even though the sleep policy is set to never. If anyone else can confirm this let me know.

I like it so far...nothing super exciting, but works well.
My phone says it's not with AT&T, even though it is.
Maybe this is an Infused 2.02 problem.
Note: This only happens when I'm browsing on my laptop to download it from there. It works directly from the phone. VERY strange~
Be careful about this app. I installed it this morning and didn't like it so I took it back off. It took me >2 hours to get AT&T to fix my voicemail box again. Even once it was "fixed" I can't access it through the regular voicemail numbers, but have to dial my own number, so it still isn't really fixed.
It takes over text messaging and voicemails, so if you don't want to use it for texting don't install it. There may be a way to get it to allow texting through another app but I didn't see it.

all i did was freeze the ATT messaging app thru TIBU and my gosms took over the rest.

I got my text messaging working fine as soon as I uninstalled the app, it just interfered while installed. That's what I didn't like about it. What I was warning about is it FUBAR's your voicemail. It does warn you that it's removing your voicemail-box but it doesn't tell you that it'll take an act of Congress to get voicemail working again. lol
I uninstalled it to test. I held 1 on dialpad and got into my VM fine?

Did you completely set up the messages app? If so, maybe I was just lucky enough to have problems. lol. I don't think it clears vm until after the app setup is complete. It removed the basic voicemail from my account but apparently messed some other stuff up behind the scenes. If it works for everybody else then just ignore me.

The phone app needs some work, definitely. More settings, sure, but the wifi issue is the biggest problem for me. It turns off at least once per hour (or every other hour). It does seem to be a bit sluggish as well in terms of how the app feels.
The website isn't too bad, though. I love that you can capture audio and video. I've been waiting for google to have web-based MMS for a long while now and AT&T did it! The quality could be a bit better on the audio and video, but for a beta, it's tolerable.
And the notifier app is nice, but I wish I could type more text in the reply field.
All in all, given that it's a beta, it's not bad. Needs love in a few areas, but once those are worked out I think it'll be a nice system to use.
Does anyone have the APK for this app? I uninstalled it cause it was turning my WIFI on and off, but now it's no longer in the market so I can't get it again?
thats because the infused rom was made on the rogers network. not at&t. so thats probably why it wont work

No i was taking about the AT&T Messages app that was out on the market. It's no longer in the market. I was asking if someone had the apk for the AT&T MESSAGES app. I no this app is on other AT&T android phone cause my friend has the Atrix and i was checking it out on his phone. So i no this app is available for other AT&T android phones.

It was working fine for me for 6 days and now all of a sudden started messing with my wifi. Kept turning on by itself. So I uninstall it luckly I didn't have that VM problem like some of you guys mention. My VM still works but its still using that new AT&T Messages VM.
For the past few days I have been having an issue with the stock android email client connecting to my Yahoo mail account. It works for a while but then when I go back to check it I have a message that requires me to re-enter the password.
This only happened after I updated to the latest Humble but I have to think that was a coincidence since it still happens after I reverted back to EP1 and then EP3HA.
WTH? Any ideas?

I too am experiencing the same exact issue... I get a "Sign-in error". Then a prompt that I "Need to update password for email account : [email protected]".

I too have been seeing the same issue.
I think it's a general Yahoo issue. Not only have I been seeing it on the phone but I've been seeing it on Outlook on my computer several times a day when it autochecks.

Hate to add just another post but just started on my wifes phone also.
This is infuriating... anyone know somebody at Yahoo who might give a crap about this? I stuck with Yahoo over the years because they never sold out dissidents to the Chinese like Google did... but this is gonna make me leave Yahoo forever.

My phone is an Epic 4g Touch on AOKP and rooted, hers is a Nexus S 4g running stock.
No idea what is causing the issue, but whenever we try to send an MMS to someone it just sits there saying "Sending..." until it possibly errors out.

Some roms there stock sms/mms sucks and you can't send pictures or receive them. You have.to use another messenger like go sms is perfect. I'm using chomp sms, handscent...try one of those & report back

Hey all,
Just wondering if anyone else is having problems with the new hangouts sending MMS?
I just received official update today and MMS will not send. I get the three little dots then after a few minutes, I get the "Message not sent. Touch to retry." Everything works fine through normal messaging app.
I've done a fair bit of googling. Seems like a few others are experiencing same problem. Somewhere mentioned that the app contains APN settings within, is it possible it does not yet have the Telstra apns built in? Why would they release it to us unfinished though?

To be fair, I would randomly / often get this same behavior with the stock messaging app, before the hangouts update even rolled out, so it could be coincidence. If you send the MMS through the stock app (assuming you still have it) or some other app does it have no problem?
Hangouts just dosent seem to want to send mms, at all im guessing its a bug im HTC one XL 4.2.2 stock rom
Not only on stock. I used it over cm, slim, beanstalk, magio. None of them work and sometimes repeats messages (sending and receiving). And on the gs3.
So what I'm saying is that this is a widespread issue and we have sit tight. Either grit your teeth and use it or go back to the normal messages app
