if you backed up your launcher, it should restore like before except for widgets. i have switch rom before and after restoring my adw ex data its like how i had it before.
make sure you restore app + data
don use any launcher (dont like adw) , there is any way to do that without launcher?

You have to use a launcher, in your case the stock launcher but a launcher none the less.
If you backup the data it should restore like how you had it

can someone please upload the stock version of ( twlauncher )
by mistake i didn't backup before the update
the sgs2 version not working well
please
galaxy note original please
You can use ADWLauncher EX in the meantime. Touchwiz for SGS2 isn't working well for me either; it doesn't scale very well, does it?
Did you consider to hardreset the device? Make a backup of your apps and perform a factory reset. Afterwards restore your apps.

I don't think this will help if he replaced a system app...
Here you go
Currently i am using this "http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1697912" cm7 rom..when i apply any theme using theme chooser it doesnt change the icons..this rom has holo launcher as default..is it beacuse of launcher or cm7 themes dont change icons anyway??
one more question...i have made an nandroid bakup..now if i want to change rom like install this one "http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1810499" can i just restore my backup and all my apps, contatcs and messages will restore??
once you flash a rom.. you cannot partially restore data from nandroid backup like messages or contacts . you will have to use 3rd party apps to backup individually apps , messages , contacts etc
for apps you can use titanium backup . for messages sms backup+ and you can either sync contact to Google or export to sd
Only if you want the old rom back you can use nandroid backup

yes. your previous rom will be applied.
and in holo launcher there is a setting wherein you can change from "ics stock icons" to default. The one included within the themes will appear.

it totally depends on your usage! if you install huge sized 81 apps you need a larger partition for sure. Try upgrading your memory card to 16gb one or cut down unwanted data from sd card and increase partition size. And number of apps doesn't matter, its the size of those apps which occupy the memory -_-
lol just noticed that a part of your name is censored on xda!! LMAO XD

the problem is not about the sd card partition size...the low memory error is about phone memory..check out this thread "http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1832219"...any solutions??

I was trying to figure this out too.. when I just backup the launcher app and restore it back it doesn't work.. so I ended up backing up all system app and data then restore all data and it worked.. It looks like they mixed things up the settings some how...
edit: figured it out.. I restored google search data and launcher data and bingo restored all my icons and folders...
It looks like google search handles the launchers db file.. been doing some digging..
apps/com.google.android.googlequicksearchbox/db/launcher.db-journal
apps/com.google.android.googlequicksearchbox/db/launcher.db
so all you do is backup google search app and your launcher's icons and folders will be restored...
Does any one know how to do this? I really like the animations and functionality of GEL but it is a pain to re-setup my home screens and icon lay out every time i want to try a new rom. I used to use nova and backed up my launcher but I do not know how to do this with GEL.
Any tips?

I've been searching for this same solution.. Titanium doesn't seem to restore the layout, so the data must be kept elsewhere.

I just updated my Nexus 4 rooted Purity ROM 2013-11-29 to 2013-12-02 build by doing a full wipe. I used Titanium Backup to backup "Google Search". After Google Market had installed most of my apps and I used Titanium Backup to restore the settings and install non-Market apps, I did a Data Only restore of "Google Search" and all the icons were back on my home screen. I rebooted for good luck and everything is restored and working well. :good:
Hi.
Since I've upgraded to latest rom on my device, huawei backup is gone (?!?).
So what do you guys use to backup your devices? Specially launcher layout, which is a pain in the... after each reset.
No. I'm not rooted nor want to be
Thank you
J.

You could try Helium (no personal experience). If not, it's going to be difficult because...

As far as I know only Huawei apps provide backup for EMUI launcher settings and home screen layout. Can any other third-party app do the same?
Even with Hw backup i can restores layout if I am just re-instaling the same rom version, because every time I upgrade rom restore does not make any effect
