Is there an app to turn a Android tab into a device like a cintiq? - Eee Pad Transformer Themes and Apps

I love drawing comics and other pictures on my transformer using sketchbook, and i go to thinking, wouldn't it be cool if you could tether the tablet to a computer via USB so that you could use the tablet to draw on in a program in the pc environment. pretty much like how a cintiq digitizer would work, much like this one
are there any apps on the market that would make this work? or does anyone know if someone is maybe developing drivers and software for something like this?

Not that i have heard off...
but even though u manage to do such a thing, you will never get the great results achieved with a cintiq wacom tablet. Do the math a cintiq tablet cost like 2,400 bucks u only payed 400 for the Asus the closest you can get to use something like a pen tablet is the app SketchBook Pro and since they have an app for PC 2 you can start some ideas on your tablet and finish theme off with the PC...
i've done some nice things with my sketch book pro ...
Thats only an example of things that can be done with sketchbook pro on asus tablet.

yeah, sketchbook pro is awesome on the transformer, i use it all the time. would justl love to be able to hook the TF up to the computer and use the TF as an input on the PC version of Sketch book

I don't know of any apps on the market, but the Notion Ink Adam has that capability built into its firmware, and it works over wifi. So it is indeed theoretically possible, but like others have mentioned the accuracy would be poor compared to a standard Wacom tablet.

here is my effect of using sketchbook pro (transformer + Bamboo stylus+ 3Hours):

Ideal windows phone .. my concept design

Hello all,
I have been thinking about a new design for a windows mobile phone that I had in my mind and today I managed to put it on my blog at http://sollers.wordpress.com/2009/02/19/ideal-mobile-design-dual-slide-out-mobile/

Honestly, I do not know how to design a phone, nor I know what software to use, but I did some simple design using powerpoint and hopefully you would understand what I had in my mind.
Let me know what you have in your mind and what you think of this kind of phone, if this comes to market. Will that be useful really for consumers?

Dear abdelamine,
Thanks for your reply
What is the model name of the sharp handset you put in there?

Definitely an attractive concept on paper.
The practical downside of a "dual slider" like that is thickness, though. You'd probably wind up with a bulkier device than you'd like.
I think a good, solid touchscreen really reduces the need for a number pad, and since you've put a nice, full-face widescreen on there, I think I'd get by fine without one.
Essentially I would like to have dual touch interface,
1. Touch screen display
2. Touch screen pad (when you slide down it shows number pad)
3. Touch screen keyboard (when you slide left it shows full querty)
With no buttons apart from the four standard buttons below the display. I hope the two touch based screens (display & input) will help reduce the weight and need of having hardware buttons as keys.

[Q] What's a good keyboard app for low-spec Android devices?

So I got a iRobot 7in Android tablet (WM2.1.2_105)... was about $86 shipped.

I've had quite a bit of experience with these kinds of devices so it was fairly easy to get it rooted, hacked, optimized for best performance and working with Android Market.
...but optimized or no, it's still a low-spec device (256MB RAM, I'm quite sure the processor is below 600mHz... no 2D or 3D acceleration, 800x480 display), and I'm fine with that because I only got it because paying $160 for a Kindle that just reads books and nothing else seemed kinda retarded... especially when Android has a Kindle app.
Anyway, the keyboard (standard virtual keyboard) is actually the problem I've been having here. If I try to type the speed I'm used to typing, the device will skip strokes because it's not fast enough to keep up with me, and has all this predictive stuff+key enlargement effects slowing it down (of course, I tried the obvious solutions of disabling everything I can in Keyboard settings... still slow).
Are there any bare-bones keyboard apps with no added "under the hood" functions that you guys know of?
try this link..
scroll at the middle of the page.. u will see a download option.. download those keyboard apps.. it can also run or other devices besides htc.. download your correct resolution keyboard (download all and see which works best for you)
you will download a zip file.. install the two apk's...

I want to add one, the CloudOn app! As close as a full office (well, at least Word, Excel and PPT) as you can get with nearly all functions for free. It looks just like Office 2010, and you get a row with all the Ctrl and other PC shortcut buttons that works like Ctrl + D for subscript or superscript etc, Ctrl B for bold text etc.
There is some problems however, that makes it not just as great as it sounds at first. It lags sometimes and as far as I can tell there are only landscape mode avaliable. But it's really worth a try, and if you are an advanced user you'll be happy to see that even equations typed in is showing and working just like the PC version. Text and maybe images is something almost any .doc editor can handle but everything else usually becomes one big mess. With this one though, I find every component and the alignments very close to MS Office.
So, try CloudOn and see how it works for you compared to the above mentioned office apps is my advice

Anyone try the cheap androidsTVs the Roku seems based on?

Since the interface seems draggy on the Tablet HDMI stick builds/hardware for 2.4ghz wireless control devices or bluetooth keyboards and mice, I am looking for something with a remote, so the lady has "ease of use", and "less complication...
Think one-trick-pony for Netflix.
Has anyone used the AndroidTV's that Roku seems to be based on such as something like these:

I want to know if these remotes function in Netflix, as I know their app really sucks with a pointing device such as mouse, mainly due to their foreground popup, not actually being a popup and when using arrow keys it scrolls the background... Do remotes on devices such as this work in the old Android (4.0) builds of Netflix, or has someone tried any of these AndroidTV boxes/sticks that work well with an IR remote and Netflix (assuming that it is IR)?
OR what is the cheapest functional stable Roku-like, or Netflix streaming device with a full remote (4-way cursor, back, home, and maybe power button)?
Are Netgear streaming players a good alternative to Roku?
Mainly because Roku's 90 day phone-support, and the remainder of the 1 year support all via e-mail (unless you pay an extra $12 fee) really pissed me off, not to mention having to activate EVERY DEVICE for a Roku sucks.
Bumpity-dumpity for input...
Does anyone have any RJ45-wired AndroidTV devices?

Fancy on Android phone with keyboard?

Good afternoon, community!
Some time ago I started to think about mobile devices with full keyboards - but all what I found were tablets like 2 in 1 and they still didn’t looked good enough. I remembered my Nokias 9 series with beautiful S80 on board, what I have used to write course assignment at Uni, to write job applications, etc. By the same time I’ve been working in retail and used to sell this kind of devices - as well as legends like Qtec 9000. People loved it. So, I’ve decided to move forward!
I have created a concept of smartphone in notebook form-factor:

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
3d model can viewed here https://skfb.ly/RHDK
Inspired by Psion 5 series, so it would have a proper QWERTY, and as Nokia 9 series, it would have 2 screens - inside and outside.
According to concept, it should work on modified version of android with access to linux apps, with factory root access and open boot loader for community ROMs.
I have contacted some ODM factories to get estimation for production, and got some advice on cost reduction, to edit concept - for available mainboard and screens - FHD, because its too expensive to produce specific ones.
So, if there is anyone who is interested in such product - you are very welcome leave your suggestions, ideas and comments!
There is a massive work still to be done before I would go for crowdfunding, so any help would be appreciated!
What type of keyboard would prefferable, laptop type, when screen is on the lid, or sliding out? Or anything else?
