Hello, everyone. As far as I know, there are many still use the card HEROC (hero 200 cdma with a uim card ), are there anyone here who can get a card machines available 2.6.35 kernel, we card HEROC users very much look forward to the kernel released , thanked first!
Err....what's a card heroc exactly...? Do you mean the GSM Hero with a sim card?

*scratches head*
That's the same conclusion I came up with is something regarding a Sim Card or perhaps an xD/SD media card?
Uhhhh.....What the hell did he say ???

According to his last posts hes on an HTC Alpine(????) from 2004 lol... If you did buy an HTC Hero GSM (that would be Verizon I believe, or another GSM carrier) you'll have to ask on that forum for anything you need. The CDMA and GSM Heroes are alike in hardware and specs only. But if you try to use the software from a gsm on the cdma or vice versa your gonna fry your phone.

As you may know, Hero CDMA is shipped without SIM slot. In China, most Hero CDMA are reworked with a SIM slot so that we can use our CDMA SIM card, actually we call that UIM card.
Now, Chinese users faced a problem is that most kernels will not support 3G data connection, only 1x available. I believe he wants XDA developer help to modify kernel to support such machines with 3G data connection.
all i can say is thank god for old.ghost lol either way this shouldve been in the q/a section.

not often, if ever, someone asks something logical and justifiable about the heroc that we don't know what they're talking about. Good thing one among us always does.
it means the cdma heroc with a uim card
sorry about my poor english !

AT&T lied.
I hear that there are 4g sims, but speeds don't seem to be effected by swapping.
The 4G sim card is only for LTE wince HSPA still uses 3G or 3.5G a new sim card will make no difference.

you dont really need a new sim. i am using my sim card from 2006 and i get 3-4Mbps download and 2Mbps upload on the ATT network. sim card really doesnt play into it from what i can tell.

Metro uses cdma phones, while the Inspire is a gsm phone. Radios are not compatible.

You cant unlock a GSM phone to work on a CDMA network. The hard ware doesnt support it. When you unlock a GSM phone that just allows you to use it with another sim card based company.

Look at Verizon and Sprint phones. (Both use CDMA networks) Or any wireless carrier that operates on CDMA - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_United_States_wireless_communications_service_providers
Then look at xda development threads for those phones. (will have tutorials if they can be unlocked/rooted/s-off'd)

So i bought my girl a sidekick 4g because it was $100 on craigslist and seemed like a good spare. Today she decided to use it and her data wasnt working so she called t-mobile and they said it could not be used due to fraud. So... How do we make it possible to be used?
Edit: Data works now...but no texts or calls. I really don't wanna be down the $100 I spent on this POS.

That's what I was afraid of hearing. Funny that it took about 24 hours to kick in. What's worse is that the phone was in the box sealed so I just thought they were in need of holiday cash. The good news is that I might have found a solution but I'm gonna have to root. Man oh man... If I can just get it to work then I will not have to be down. I guess even breaking even at this point would suffice.
U got a proper sim card in it? U can still use wifi with it being sim card less

Yes. Her other phone is a myTouch 4G and she just wanted something to change out to when her battery died (which is all the time) and was bored. She was still gonna use it as a phone.
I have never heard of tmo doing this. If you have another 4g phone. .. just use that to add 4g data to that particular line. then put that sim card into the sidekick.
Tmo uses gsm, not cdma and such like verizon and sprint. they have no way to see if phone is stolen or not, they can't block it like like esn numbers on verizon and sprint.
good luck
just have to have a 4g card with your daughters sim in it, call in, tell them you want 4g data on that account.
that's it. I did it. it works,
good luck

Its because its a stolen phone. I would hope if they stole your phone TMobile would make it harder to profit from that theft.

No it wasn't reported stolen from what the rep said. They said it was fraud. I asked for more details but i couldnt get more. After doing careful research, T-Mobile will block IMEI's only when it is beneficial to them. That does not mean protection for customers though.

You've had an attitude in 2 of your 3 posts in this thread. This is a very new device with extremely limited supply currently.
The biggest problem you might run into is being able to change APNs as in stock AT&T guise they're not accessible. If it.pulls APNs from the network automatically, you should.have no problem.

Ha. I've found the One X community to be extremely noob-tolerant and overall less flamey than every other XDA device forum I've been on.
It seems you've been on here long enough to know to use the search function.
Searching "straight talk" in General yielded a bunch of mentions on the T-Mobile thread. Several people stated it should work. But it doesn't seem that anyone here has tried it, and confirmed it to work yet:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/search.php?searchid=26890042
You need to get it carrier unlocked too.. search there are tons of threads that talk about where you can get it done.
Basically it is just a website that you pay like $7 enter your IMEI in and it spits out an unlock code then you can use the phone on non-ATT carriers. Until you do this you cannot use the phone on any carrier other than ATT.
It worked for me and I get hspa+ speeds.

Wife just got an HTC ONE XL.... came with a sim card.
Had a hard time getting it activated... but eventually ....
After playing with it for a couple hours i found that it would not send SMS images.
Finally did a chat with ATT and was informed that the account had been changed to a Pay Data plan and that the Sim card listed was not a LTE sim card.
Hard to fathom that 2 people before never made that connection and that they actually sent an LTE phone without the proper SIM card.
Said it will take 3 days to get the LTE card when the phone was sent overnight.

AT&T never informed me that they had no 4g in our area. Needless to say I found out the same way you did. They're really "good" for that.

Turns out that everything was wrong...
1) it is an HTC One VX not HTC One LX
2) ATT only uses one type (different sizes) of SIM cards and they are 3g/4g and LTE compatible.
3) The person who activated the phone, put the phone on a Pay per use plan (not LTE)...
4) The rep I just got off the phone with, is fixing that... temp 200mb LTE plan until the Unlimited LTE plan is put back on, Credit to cover the cost and fixed a number of other issues (like turning me on paperless billing).
So I was in the wrong thread... sorry bout that.
