Why is it that faux's aosp 2.3.5 rom is the only rom that shows me connected to HSPA+ in phone info..

Dude your phone number is visible ^
Have you tried a speed test? If you're getting 6+mbps, then the ROM is right, and you do have HSPA+

I've tried speed tests many times on different roms .... A few times I've reached 8mb dl speeds... Very few... Its just that faux's rom is the only one that shows the hspa+ ... I haven't noticed it on any other ... And I actually live a half mile from a tmobile tower and work five streets over from my house... This all came from me having horrible signal and repeatedly calling tmobile about it... I hardly had 4g kept missing calls, dropping calls all while my wife's sgs4g had steady 4g constantly ... They kept telling me they did troubleshooting and came back with I need to take into consideration that TREES were causing this..... Trees, really ..... Then they replaced the phone...
Sent from my LG-P999 using xda premium
The phone is working fine btw.. Other than the signal problem is still there.... Possibly a little better ... I am a crack flasher and proud if it ...I've tried them all ... My wife thinks I'm nuts and doesn't let me anywhere near her phone.. lol .. It just drive me nuts that I'm this close to a tower and I would think that I should be getting very good signal and speeds.... Any input would be greatly appreciated... And if anyone knows how I can take down the pic with my phone number on it ... Thnx

Go online with puter. Edit your post. You can do it with app too. Hold finger down a sec on your post. When u release it it should say modify in the middle of the pop up. Edit your post there.

On a quick note.just disable automatic time then re enable and your time and date are correct

its nice and really fast , but it limits the characters number in one text message when i write in arabic or it will fail to send... so i had to go back to the stock ( rogers )
Not a significant change in data, but GPS is an immediate lock!

really i got the kernel running as well. still gotta work on factoryfs and cache isnt really important.
Yea...I got the kernel...I just don't have that much experience with the kernels yet...I got cache.rfs extracted but stuck on factoryfs.rfs...lol

Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I997 using xda premium
i haven't tested beyond flashing and seeing if it boots and connects. the kernel is working over kk3 as is the modem. the factoryfs well ill see if anything can be extracted from it. but i dont know what advantage that'll have over just running kk3 if any.
Just flash this modem and data connection seems faster. Specially since i live in an atomic bomb shelter, anything that gets good data connection is good for me

You can't really make any kind of decision on battery life unless you let it run on it for a few days. I've started with horrible battery life before, but then it usually even itself out in the end.

Right. Five minutes is barely any time to get a fair assessment. I would recommend atleast 3-4 days before arriving at one.
I also got fast battery drain right after flashing. Gave it a reboot and a few hours later, battery has only gone down 2%.
Just needs a reboot. Then your good to go.

Does anyone elsr have trouble with reception when around trees i do it can be the smallest tree ever and bam no signal. If i ever get lost in a forest im screwed. And this is with all my tmobile phones so its not a rom issue.

Thats really strange. And surprisingly I have never had that issue.
I would agree with quietly and try different modems again.
Have you gone to the T-Mobile site and checked your coverage area?
Yes i almost always have full bars in my area its when i go by any forest perserve big or small i can watch my signal drop to nothing. This is only noticed when i am talking on phone
Also this has even been an issue with any phone I use on tmobile even the non smart phones

I put one of these dumb stick on antennas (as seen on TV) on the back of my battery and it sucked so I removed it. Now I can't get 4g I only get 3g. Any ideas on how to fix?

Never heard of this antenna thing but if it really did hurt something I would say a wipe and reflash would fix your problem.

Those things do absolutely nothing. You probably just have network issues.

Thanks man! Also, I keep having to manually connect to my carrier and receive an invalid sim errorerror. I noticed its after I disconnect from wifi or after I lose service. That's enough for me to switch back!
UPDATE: NVM, the invalid sim error I was receiving was just because I lost service. The sim is read after I regain service. Though the network must be manually configured the first time around. After that, everything is fine.
I do miss some of the CM7 perks though. Like speech to text, or when I get a notification, I can slide individual noties away.
MIUI has a GB feel with a ICS look. So, I'm sold. I'm switching over and leaving CM7 in the dust.

When I take a screen shot, it says the file is corrupted. That's so crappy. The UI still outwieghts the bugs!!
UPDATE: I fixed the screenshot issue by installing the CM7 screen shot apk. I have it if anyone needs it.

Haha couldn't be more true! Everytine I try and switch... I always end up back with CM7 lol IDK this though MT3G. This ROM is sick(until I run into a problem)! It hhas the Gingerbread feel but the ICS look! I don't want to out my phone down!
I flashed the GB Miui.us from rootwiki by team kang. Which is the same guys who build CM7 & 9.
I really think this is the answer to all the users who want the ICS look and the stability and feel of GB!
I reccomend this to anyone who hasnt tried it but loves CM7!
Battery life is really good too!

I have had the IPhone 4 and gave it up for the G2x. No regrets btw! And I feel that it looks nothing like a IPhone knock off. Although it does reminds me of CM9 somewhat.
The look and feel of it is just perfect! Like an integration of CM7 & CM9. This version was ported by Kang anyway. The battery life is better than CM7 too. CM7 does have quite a few things I miss though! Like speech to text, being able to slide individual notifications off/out, just small things that CM7 gives you but the look and feel this has makes me forget about those little perks CM7 provides.
Just try it out for yourself and you will see what I mean. Its better that you experience it yourself. We are 2 entirely different people and what I might find interesting or awesome is most likely going to be awesome lol just kidding but you should try it out for yourself!
