Hello fellows
I got the htc sensation and I wondered if I can restore de S-off to S-on so I can sent it back for reparation. (warranty void, etc.) And if i can undo the root.
So actually the question is if i can restore the phone that the reparation service wont see that I have rooted it.
Thankzz
Yes, it's all explained in the sticky in dev section

I bought an Unlocked T-Mobile Sensation this week. I will make it S-Off, Root and will flash custom ROM. Are the procedures same with a normal HTC Sensation or do i need to do extra things because of T-Mobile?
Should be the same but someone correct me if I'm wrong, I think if u flash a radio u will lose unlock.

Oh really? That's bad news
So I updated my Sensation to 2.3.4 and now I'm just wondering if I have an unlocked bootloader on my phone. Did the OTA give me an advantage to go and root my Sensation?

So then how do I go about rooting it. I don't know if I have S-off or not.

Turn off phone. Hold down lower volume and press power. Then youll see your bootloader screen and look and see if it says s-on.

Mine says locked, so yeah the OTA does not unlock your phone.
Do NOT unlock it. You warrenty will be void and HTC will know.
S OFF, flash CWM, then flash su

All he was asking was if the ota gave him s-off. Thats not gonna happen. The only way your gonna inform htc that you soff is buy them through there website. Just soff through alpharev and root flash radio update and youll be good. There is the direction thread in stickies ok. Kids these days

Hi there! The title kinda explains my question.
My question is this, I am sending my sensation away for repairs this week and it is S-OFF but running a stock rom, is it necessary for me to get it back to S-ON to send it to HTC?
Thanks in advance
Paddy
Yep. S-off voids warranty.

I'd still send it back S-ON to be on the safe side
I agree with EddyOS, I'd S-ON before sending it back.
That is of cource, if you S-OFFed with Revolutionary.
IF you used the unlocker on htcdev, your warranty is voided.
Apparently if some providers don't even check for S-OFF, there is a chance that you'd get through with. But as everyone said: S-ON is the safest
Thanks for the replies, I shall go with the safe option and put it back to S-ON

I did something terrible with my HTC Sensation XE and while trying to S-ON i bricked it using the following command...
fastboot oem writesecureflag 3
Now em unable to switch ON my cell phone.. Its completely BRICKED... Has anyone over here any idea on how to resolve this problem... If you know of some method kindly post the link here...
Thanks
I assume you've already looked here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1193540
That guide wont work.... He can't turn the phone on. You have yourself a hard brick. I don't think it can be recovered since you can't power up the device.

This is from the sensation forum. I would assume that it would work for the xe as well using appropriate ruu. At least a place to ask this question. Seems to be made for exactly that problem.
