A week or so ago I replaced my inoperative N1 (2.3.4) with the Sensation and I must say "what a difference" from the UI to speed - a truly 'sensational' device!
However, there are few differences that I was wondering about:
1. Can't seem to config the Sensation re the Display settings to display in night-mode
2. Older version of Market in the Sensation
3. The Sensation's UI doesn't flip to landscape mode when the device is horizontal
By the way, if you haven't tried Elixir 2, I recommend you do.

hero - magic - tattoo ?
They all are on android ? Which one to choose ?
I'm opting for magic - with one exception, no real qwerty keyboard.
Tia,

I've had a Tattoo. I sent it back. I'm gonna get a Nokia of all phones next. Decided I'll get a n97 mini. I like them, they look solid.
The Tattoo was very good. But I was disappointed by the processer. I don't think it would last a 24 month contract before I smashed it up. For example, they bundled 2 games on the phone, and neither were smooth. They were both jerky and nasty.
Android does look the way forward though.
Well they all don't have a hardware keyboard
Go for Hero or Magic, they have the same hardware, the Tattoo has a worse screen.
You can easily get Sense on the Magic, so that's not a reason for the Hero (unless you don't want to flash )

Ok, I did not check the CPU, but if money is no object, go to HTCs website and look at the details for these:
1) HTC Shift
2) HTC HD2
3) HTC Hero
4) HTC Touch Pro/2
5) HTC Touch Diamond 2

HTC Shift - too big..
HTC HD2 - it looks great, the size the shape and even the CPU
HTC Hero - don't like the design
HTC Touch Pro 2 -too slow
HTC Touch Diamond 2 - too slow and don't like the design..
What about Nexus one?
You can always use pdadb.net for help on choosing a device

Hardware keyboard needed?...
WM or Android?...
Size screen?...
For WM get the HD2!
I can vouch for the Nexus One. Google-supported, meaning lots of rom updates (hopefully), lots of great features out of the box, intuitive UI, speedy phone with the Snapdragon processor.
If you get one, try and protect the screen. It seems that the screen can get hairline scratches easily. Treat it like your child

You mean HD2?
Hi, I hve finally decide to go back to PDA/Smartphone and want to know which I should get. I am a veteran in the rom flashing/cooking era of the wizard and vario's and htc touch pro 2. I am after finding out which is the best , as in most powerful and able to run everything smoothly whether it be android or Win7. I prefer a physical keyboard , but if screen good enough will use on screen one.
Thanks for your time/thoughts peeps!!
P.s coming of an Iphone 4. (Boo hiss I know...lol).
Desire Z (w/ HW Keyboard), iPhone 4 or HTC HD7...
This depends on you. All those phones are great. You need to check which one fits your style. We can't do this for you.
I suggest you wait until the newer Q1 2011 android phones come out, where do you live and what carriers are in your area?
Thanks for the replys. I am in UK on o2 and have about £400 for new phone.
need a phone quite quickly so am after the best nowish. Can a desire z be flashed with roms etc and HD7?
HD7 looks quite big and desire z only has 800mhz cpu as far as I can see . Is this fast enough.?
Thanks.
Hello folks,
my MT4GS was stolen when I was in Tokyo so I am looking for a phone to replace it.
As I want to eventually built a native App that is controlling my homepage (amongest others) I want to hear your thoughts about what phone would be nice to have next.
My reasons for the MT4GS where:
- Awesome (!) camera for the price tag
- Slideout physical keyboard (which turned out to be disappointment - because I failed to use any other dictionary with the physical keyboard other than the english one..........)
- 3,7 inch screen with relatively high resolution 800*480 which can be fully used due to the slideoutkeyboard
- GPS,3.5G (HSPA+),accelerometers, 3.5mm jack
- HUGE app ecosystem and good development support even though it is Java
- wifi tethering
- DUALCORE processor
Questions I have:
- I am not sure if I want a slideout phone again - only if i can get the keyboard to use all langauages dictionary!
- I think i like Objective-C as I want to develop and I like C++/C# already - but maybe the Windows Ecosystem is not that bad ?? Android is Java, Java is ...
- If it is oncreen, i would like a higher resolution and a bigger screen
- Is LTE useful
What phones are there that are new and have a slideout keyboard and official/inofficial ICS support AND the above features that I mentioned for the MT4GS?
I just want a phone that I can use for almost everything. Right now am am 50/50 between iOS and an Android phone - but since the introduction of the lumia 920 I am considering Windowsphone8.
What are your thoguths?
Please see the sticky at the top of the forum for such questions. Your question will get the same kind of exposure there and you're just as likely to good responses. Thanks. Thread closed.

Hello
Everyone knows that when you fill the seven screen phone slows...
But in the first part of the day I use only 3 screen ... in the second part of the day - different 3 screens.
Well.. with 3 screens phone is really fast(compare with 7) ...But it's really annoying to change Sense Scene from options ... i need script or program to change that with one tap/click.
is it possible?
(sorry for bad english )
anyone?
