Is it possible to disable the lock screen altogether, in favor of widgetlocker? I've found the option to select which lock screen theme you'd like, but cannot find if I can disable it. I searched the thread and couldn't find any relevant information. I also would've posted there but I do not have enough posts.

Once you enable widget locker it kills any other lock screen if I'm not mistaken

even after update, the original screen-lock remained laggy and inaccurate sometimes. is there some more screen-lock apps that can be used on X10?

Have you checked the market at all. Lots of options. Goto seems to be popular.
Lock screen
Sorry for hijack but My lock screen is too sensitive and my phone is always unlocking in my pocket and then making calls, sending texts and changing things around, its starting to pi** me off a bit.
I need a proper lockscreen that needs a password or something to enable phone.
I bought app protector from the market but that just messes with the whole phone big time, disabled.
Just activate the additional pattern lock under android settings --> security. your phone shouldn't be able to draw a pattern specified by you

I would like to remove the se lock screen as well and replace it with stock android. I tried many apps in the market but none of them work properly. So in my search I was looking to disable it manually. Interestingly enough when I removed the phone.apk it removed the lock as well. I couldn't use the phone but at least no lockscreen . Anyways i think modifying the phone.apk is what needs to happen unfortunately i don't have the knowledge to do this yet...

Ashame lockbot does not work on the X10. I have problems with the lock as well. Sometimes i miss calls because it hangs In de top, very annoying.
Lock 2.0 from market Works for x10 and is great, a bit Luke s2u2. Full version Allied you to change settings to your likings.
i use adw launcher, dont change your settings in adw after installing lock2 otherwise the default lockscreen Comes back for some reason and you end up with a Double lockscreen. Further it is the best lock screen on the market for our phone. Hope this will help.

I'm a huge fan of goto but sometimes a lil bit laggy
I've tried all sorts of lockscreens and apps that disable the stock lockscreen. I still always end up with the stock lockscreen coming back, so I have to unlock stock and whatever lockscreen app I had installed. Some of them didn't disable the stock at all, some did but randomly the stock would come back after some time

Sent you a pm mate
Was going to get goto, but it is a pain that you can only pay with a credit card, i havent got one
Goto its really good but its main problem was that any button could wake it up which resulted in battery drain!! don't know if that's fixed now cause I really did prefer it over the built in one!!

can someone please post the goto apk?

No real solution im afraid, you can try changing your task killer to only kill apps every couple of hours and ignore the GOTO application, or uninstall it completely, this helps.
I now use Lockbot pro which i think looks better than GOTO + its got 100's of themes, but i sometimes see the SE lock screen, hardly ever, but still seen it, whereas with GOTO i never saw it.

Unfortunatly GOTO is a paid app so its against forum rules to post the .apk.
Google is your friend, or pay for it.
The only way to change the default lock screen is by tampering with the /system files. Don't think anyone has been successful in revamping it. The only progress I've seen was the arrow being changed to a different image.

I think you have set Advanced Task Killer to "kill when screen off". This setting turns on the screen when you use goto, it's some kind of bug. Just use a setting like "kill every 30 min" or something like that and goto will work fine.
btw. you should read the topics about how pointless Task Killers are on Android. They're often even making things like battery life and smoothness of the device worse. Here's one of the many topics about it on the forum
I have no lock installed but i still get the SE's lock screen and Lockbot is not there most of the time ...
Well, sometime Lockbot appears after i unlock the SE one ... which is stupid.
Found this sitting in the N1 forum. What are the chances we can get something like this on the DX?

You dont need an app to do this, just uncheck the "Use visible pattern" in you security lock settings.
That doesn't get rid of the dots on the page though. Only the pattern as you drag your fingers. I want to hid the actual points of contact as well.
Another problem that I've found with this is that you've got to go through two slider screens before the pattern lock when using Widget Locker. What would be ideal is to have an invisible lock pattern embedded into a program like widget locker. That would be awesome and worth every penny if you ask me.

Try replacing your existing framework-res.apk with the one I have attached to this post.
Make a backup first as always! (you could simply rename your existing framework-res.apk to framework-res.apk.orig)
adb push this to /system/framework/
yea you pretty much have to edit the lock screen pngs that are in your framework-res.apk and make them transparent.
I tried searching in different forums and Google but I was unable to find this.
My question is ..is it possible to put "any" widget into the notificatily bar I'm really looking to put the "Elixir" widget into the notification bar
No! However, there was an app in the market that allowed you to have a hidden screen. I cant recall what the app was named but basicly you could say hold down the home button and the screen similar to just a blank screen would pop up. You could put widgets and other things on the screen. Seriously though the app seemed kind of usless considering you already have how many other screens lol.

Hi guys,
Is there any way to add "Auto-Rotate" to Quick Setting. I have searched the forum and even google it but didn't find any useful answer.
PS: My DS is running on Rooted Stock Rom (odex).
Thank You!
I'm not sure but I think there is a widget available for it?
Sent from my HTC Desire S using XDA App
yes, there is a Auto-Rotate widget that you can download from HTC Sense
then you can place on your home screen

No, i dont want any widgets on homescreen, what i want is to extend my Quick Settings drop down menu and add a toggle to auto on and off Rotation.
There is this "Switch Go Widget" I am using, try to search it on the market. I am using Go Launcher though, am not sure if you can install that one without Go Launcher.

Again widgets, i dont want any widget please. Noobs please don't try to answer this question as i know you all will tell me to use some or the other widgets. No hard feelings.
This question is for developers, who know how to tweak and mod the settings.
Moreover i found a thread but i guess that works for Deodex Roms not for the Odex ones. Here is the link : [SMALI GUIDE] How to add extended Quicksettings

in this case you should post your topic in the "Desire S Android Development" section, not here.

What is it that you are trying to achieve with having that on the quick setting? If it's because you only want the screen rotate while in a certain app, then I'd recommend an app called Smart Rotator. It's on the market, and you can preconfigure which apps to rotate and at what angle. So whenever you launch that app, it will rotate as you configured, and when you close it, it returns to normal.
Not Available Try custom roms for this
You need to edit the sense frameworks

I was wondering about that, on the iphone there is an application that u can get off of Cydia and will enable the "touch to unlock" I don't like to "slide" and specially now that fkn mapple was given this retarded patent I believe every single android should move away from "slide to unlock".
In any case, does anybody know if there is an alternative?
If you're running Cyanogenmod you can just disable the slider and just unlock with the menu button.
Thanks but I'm running MIUI, that's a good option but I want something on the screen.
Don't you think it would be too easy to unlock it be accident?

well , i don't think it would be easy to touch and push power button or volume button by accident , any way , before you wanna unlock , you must first touch these physical button...

MIUI's default unlock , just slide it all the way down , that's closest solution i can think of ...
MIUI has lots lots of unlock screen online , i think you could find one you like
There's a ton of lockscreens for miui that do exactly what your looking for, check the themes section for the miui lockscreen threads. Or google miui lockscreens.

i use the lockscreen gestures feature in cyanogenmod. you can draw a gesture to unlock it, and to open any app from the lockscreen.
action "push" can be draw as gesture?
