hmm..after upgrade i got wifi error..my battery is almost gone so i'll put on charger for one hour then flash backup and see if error is gone..

You must have done something wrong.
I have been using this radio for about 3 hours, tried my WiFi, tranferred a file between my Desire and Desire S and have been using the internet, with no problems at all.

is it possible to do something wrong?put zip on sd card then flash to bootloader and push volume up

ok backup restored.wifi fixed.
everything is ok.

haha, im just curious as to why this 1 has the 4801 part at the beginning. wheras the radio from the first ota sense 3 we got was just 48.

I think so, but considering how small it is, it could be important, as they may have found something that needed patching on the previous version.
Radio is still working fine for me, noticing maybe better battery use?

There was also an ril file in the package, which I'm going to look at when I get home, so I might add that as well.

i flashed back previous radio...had so many problems to get stable wifi connection with this one...previous one works perfectly

Flashed it too been testing it for almost 3hrs now..

I think the previous has lower battery consumption during Screen Off/Sleep.
on my Log (Battery Monitor Widget History) on 08:54 I put the Phone to Sleep/Screen Off up to 10:27 and as you can see it doesn't stick to 8 or 9ma for too long on Sleep State. will try to monitor more since it's just 3hours after i Flashed it .

Yup. Basically I hardly use my phone for calling and messaging, and use it more for flashing different roms.....

OTA T-MO USA HTC One S update failure

I have the HTC one s T-mobile USA version and my OTA update fails everytime. I do not have a ROM installed but I am rooted because I wanted to use a wifi hot spot app. the phone restarts and shows failed on the CW recovery screen at the bottom. It states it cannot mount the SD card? anyone else have this issue? Any one know a way to push the update through? This is the 58.31mb optimisation update...Thanks!

You will need the stock recovery for the Ota to work.

I got that too. The update wasn't supposed to fix much. I remember for the Nexus One, developers used to repackage the updates as flashable zips, and I'm surprised that nobody did that.

The 2nd link is the stock recovery.

The OTA update will also fail to install if /system/build.prop has been modified. If so, just restore the original and try again.

Did you delete any of the system apps?
Some have reported they got the update after going back to stock recovery and performing a factory reset of the device.

Yes sir, tried that as well... now with the stock recovery is looks as though its going to install the update (when booting into recovery) but then a exclamation point appears with the device in the background. When i jump back to the option that are listed in the stock recovery it tells me that it was unable to mount the SD card and every option that i select just reboots the device.

I would just try to install a stock debloated ROM from the dev section, they'll be updated to the newest firmware anyway plus you'll get rid of all the boat.

yeah I went ahead and did that with Axiom Rom.. runs really well and has a few fixes in all the right places for my taste. Thanks for the info sir.

and just another note to add as well, the Axiom Rom has the 1.84 RUU baked into the ROM already so it accomplished the mission of getting the phone updated. Thanks again gents.

you need an (update.zip) file
which you have to flash in (recovery mod)...
after that your phone will be rooted....

Well,actually u didn't help me cause I already tried it and I don't need to update it, I need to root it and install everything by myself cause the phone is chinese and it doesn't allow facebook,google products etc.

I have a problem rooting this exact phone.
Download mode shows S7572ZCAMD2 and I have also tried flashing another rom I found online with Odin, but that one did not boot at all (This is stock rom).
I have tried with SuperOneClick on Win and Mac with the update.zip method, but whenever it boots into recovery, i can't flash the update.zip file since it gives me the error unknown volume path [/sdcard] and it can't see the update.zip anywhere.
If I use Odin3 to flash a custom recovery, it boots, but I can't get to recovery with the same keycombo that I use to get to Stock recovery.
Meaningg, when it booths the first time after uploading custom recovery, I remove the battery so it would not overwrite recovery. I then put it back and try to boot into recovery using Up-Home-Pwr (Stock recovery works with this combo), but all I get with custom recovery is the yellow triangle page.
Any recommendations are welcome, I've even been using Chrome to translate the chinese forums on this phone, but they are already asking for God's help.. (srsly..)

i just download the app that i like and installed it. i never use google play store to install apps because its chinese.

my problem now is how to remove the pre-installed chinese apps w/c is useless.

use root uninstaller or titanium backup to either freeze or uninstall what you don't want.
If not yet rooted look in My Android Collections under unlock and root for the right tool to root it first.

I don't tested external memory since I use dualsim and 64GB is enough for me.

Can u make an antutu benchmark test , to compare the score with the stock Rom please ?

Do you need to be on stock rom, I tried this before but fail to boot, maybe because I was using Elemental rom ?

Yes, cameras work. I am transferring files mainly via USB OTG plug and pendrive or to my home samba server.

Was it a clean installation of oreo? I mean did u make a factory reset after the update? Cuz i upgraded from nougat to oreo without deleting anything, and i heard that may cause some bad experiences, idk

How about the autobrightness and 4g, is it working?

How can I install it ? I tried but it does'nt boot on ? Please help me

Could you help me ? How can I install it ?

Why no one working on this device to at least remove these bugs of usb connection and auto brightness, otherwise this GSI is perfect...please xda developers do something for our device.

Even manual brightness working or not?
