i have the amazon appstore installed on my desire hd, but im in the uk.
i made a fake email and set it up to look like im in the US.
now i want to install custom mods on my phone but i cant remember the email i used to register with amazon.
no where can i find it mentioned in the app and no where can i find any data on my unrooted DHD.
i no what password i used but just need the email i used.
is there anyway i can find out which email ive used.
i ask because i dont want to lose all the free apps of the day that i have.

Same problem here... I dont think its possible to recover login email. the appstore saves an encrypted file with your device data, so if you backup and then restore in the same device, should be no problem

will i be able to do this without root access.
i ask because i was stupid enough to believe htc when they said the latest update will fix wifi problems but instead it just unrooted my phone and left wifi broken

Sorry, as you can see, its my first post and i dont exactly know where to put, but i want to share,because i spend hours of searching the net and my device.
I had the problem, that i forgot the password for the googlemail-account linked to the market and found no solution to change it. So i searched a little bit and found a fast solution which was working for me.
So i just took the /data/system/accounts.db file, opened it by using SQLite Database Browser and changed the address to the new one and deleted the stored password. After reboot and accessing the market, i was asked for the password, entered the new one and voila, all was fine.

btw, my device is a rooted desire, with "Official_FroYo_Market_fixed" ROM

It was my aim to change it without resetting the device and this is the solution. No need to reset anything.

download the free Super Manager from the market, give it root , keep moving up folders to root, go to /data/system/ and just delete accounts.db it is quicker to just reenter the account info , by the time you go through all the steps to edit that file and the know what to change your finished entering the account info, I just had to do this I put my wifes account on my phone, tried everyway to remove her which a search landed me here, I downloaded Sq but just to much to do so I found super manager while searching the market for help

Another aspect is the mail associated with a purchase. Currently I can change the email for my vendor account, but it isn't possible to shift the purchase profile to another email account as far as I know.
If anybody got an idea/solution to that, it would be more than appreciated.

I need help, I read above method of reset market logon, so I deleted account.db with rootexplorer. Then I start market again, it ask me signon. This is working, remove my wife logon information.
Then I put in detail id and password, but I am getting network error, my phone on 3G network, my browser able to visit any web page. But the market apps just not connecting. What did I do want ?

hi looking for an advice now as went on holidays and used my hotel network to connect to internet and now on the third day I got about 30 emaills saying MAIL DELIVERY FAILURE!!! Those emails were returned as not delivered but plenty were sent and got email from friend of mine asking whats going on with me as he got some adds from my address...
have three different mails and that particular one was remembered by browser the other two have set up on android gmail application but when saw these 30 failure delivery didnt go to android app...
so can some1 tell me whats that about ? is xoom really infected? i mean can android which is linux based get infected that way? what should i do? hard reset? i remember doing hard reset leaves all data like music etc so can any infected file stay here after reset?
got AVG antivir and after scanAVG says tablet is clean... installed DroidDream malvare detection and it also says tablet is clean... finally installed GuardX and it also says xoom is clean

This happens to my Hotmail account not to long ago and was told to change password and check settings to make sure the vacation auto reply was not activated. Maybe while you were at the hotel some was monitoring and got your password. That is what I suggest. I haven't heard android getting viruses.

now i have an problem with this app, i made an account on there can play for 2 years but now they blocked my account, so i wanted to create an new one but it says too many accnts registred.
now i deleted this app , installed it again but it still remember the old one .
so i did a factory reset installed again and same problem
so now my question is how do they do that do them read my ip adress? or something else?
or is there maybe a way to come into the system from the app to change it?
anyone know a solution pls let me know

1They most likely reg your IMEI and blocked your phone that way. Only option would be to get a different device.

That IMEI its like id number for ur phone? Correct me if im wrong

It may not be an option. If they reg by imei and you block it then it won't load most likely. I would find out why it is blocked

My 7 week old Verizon Samsung Galaxy S6 G920VVRU4BOG9, android version 5.1.1. died yesterday for reasons unknown. It is now back on but has been wiped clean. I had to do what I believe is called a hard reset. I don’t care about anything else on this phone but I’m desperate to get back the pictures and videos. By any chance is it possible yet to recover deleted photos off of a Verizon Samsung Galaxy S6 (G920VVRU4BOG9)? I've been reading about it since yesterday and everything tells me I must root my phone; however, it looks like from what I am reading, even if I wanted to, I canNOT root my particular Verizon S6 model. None of the android data recovery tools appear to work without 1st rooting my phone.
I stupidly do not have a backup of my phone as I believed the VZW cloud was backing up all my data. It did not save my pictures/videos, only my contacts. Samsung tech support was worthless. I’ve disconnected the WIFI and have done almost nothing on the cell today except exchange a few necessary text messages and phone calls. I don’t want to chance overwriting anything if it can somehow be retrieved/salvaged.
I’ve tried Wondershare Dr Fone for Android, Asoftech Data Recovery, Kvisoft Data Recovery, Ease US data recovery. None have worked. Again, from what I’ve been reading, a rooted phone appears to be required in order to locate that lost data using recovery software. The problem seems to be VZW.
Anyhow, I appreciate anyone’s 2cents. If you happen to know of any Geek Squad-like, paid for services, I’m willing to pay someone to get these picture and videos back. Thank you so much for your time!

Yes, I would check Google for a backup of your pictures. I'm assuming no Dropbox account.

I have a Samsung account so I can use the "find my phone" option in case of a lost or stolen phone. I asked them if they offer any cloud backup and the rep told me NO.
I do have a Google account and Google Drive as well. I couldn't find any of my pictures there though. I really appreciate your response though. Thank you!

Try changing your search parameters in Google Play....seems I recall a co-worker having a similar issue that he was able to partially resolve using apps that were specifically for Picture recovery. If that doesn't work, you are to the "find someone who can pull stuff off flash memory" stage.

Thank you. I did try adding those apps- which is great to know they have those! Unfortunately, none of them worked for me. I'm still holding out hope but at the same time realizing the likelihood of getting those pictures back is very slim. Thanks again.

I did check there as well. I had a few pictures from 2014, but nothing recent. Thank you for the suggestion though!
I would install es file explorer on it and just go thru all the folders you can find. Even though you aren't rooted you can still copy files should you happen to find them or cache versions of them. You can copy you just can't modify or write to the system folders and such. I used this just yesterday to copy the launcher apk of my Moto Maxx 2 so I could copy out the stock wallpapers. Haha. A hard reset formats the user data partition. Those files are gone.
As the title say time I install a new rom or do a factory reset it looks like I've been hacked. As soon as I register and connect my phone to the internet google security activity shows that my phone has been connected from Irland or Germany although I'm connecting from Sweden. How can this be explained if I'm not being hacked? I take all the security measures, changing password etc... But yet this problem doesn't go away. Does this happen to anyone else?

did happen only with one device or more? what do u use for root, wich rom, custom recovery do u install? wich kind of gapps do u use? it happen just when u install the rom/recovery, or when u set up the gapps?
the foreign connection message is inside the gmail account? do u see foreign ip address logged when u are not logged or just foreign ip when u are logged? (this question is because maybe something use a vpn)

As soon as i logg in to my google account it happens, on the google security activity where I can see my devices, it shows that I logged in from Irland or Germany, and after that it goes back to show that I logged in from Sweden. So far I noticed that it only happens on my phone, but in the past it use to happen on my PC too, and it does not show the ip address, it only shows the name of the country. when u install rom and configure gapps r u using your wifi? because is strange it happens also with your pc, maybe the problem is in your LAN, it happens just after the gapps setup after a fresh install or also later?
do u ose official gapps (and where is the source) or do u use other kind of gapps?
The roms that I use has allready Google apps installed. This time it happened right after I logged in to my phone. In the past it happened a day later.
It's possible that the new rom had it's location history set to those locations.. And Google apps like a good little app is telling where your are...
But it's wrong until it gets a proper location update.

No. This happens when i change the password. I changed the password before i installed the new rom.

Nope. I'm definitely being hacked. Everything points towards it. I change my password I format my PC I install the original android to my phone, same **** happens. It was not like this before.
There is a trojan that can not be found by virus, malware and trojan software. This bastard got me. I think it could be the government.

wipe your phone and install a rom, than configure it with one new account
use it for a day
than with your pc go in both account and see if are both comprimised or not

Maybe not on this forum, but there are other forums.
What rom are you using? Where did you get it?
What email app are you using?
Who is your internet provider for your device?
All of these can be factors in you being hacked...
Your rom could have a Trojan on it.
Your email could be not properly storing your password.
(Your not using the factory email app that uses the account your signed info your phone with are you? Please say no)
Is your internet provider known for making a federal case out of every request for information or do they give it out to anyone with a badge?
More information is needed before you can be helped.
First off change roms...
If you are using a oem rom get a custom rom from a popular developer.
Then change email providers
(Unless you are taking Google)
Then dump the two factor crap
Get a third party open source email app or use tor to sign in by web mail.
Change and set your password from a cafe or hotel Wi-Fi that is nowhere where you usually go.
Then see if you think you are being hacked..
If so trash the phone
Get a new one with cash..
Root it secure it
Try again
And if that still looks bad..
User paper and one time pads for encryption and safe drop points.
