After working very, very hard on this (like, all night, mostly because there was some moron who promised "white text" with the same algorithm that produced "red text"... not you, but somebody else), I give you... A white clock.
Installing/flashing this one over would look something like this, from your computer.
adb push services.jar /sdcard/services.jar
adb shell
$ su
# cp /sdcard/services.jar /system/framework/services.jar
# exit
adb reboot

I'm clueless on how to make themes or ROMs so be nice to all the poor shmucks out there (e.g. me) and turn this into one for us (me) for whoever needs it? And the carrier name color looks funky on my phone too...
Edit 4: I think I made a mistake about how I installed this jar file... it seems to have to be done via ADB to work at all. Otherwise the phone crashes badly.
services.jar (white clock)

Anybody can change the clock color by using apktool to decompile services.jar (you don't need to change its extension).
From there, go to com/android/server/status and edit StatusBarIcon.smali.

...in the format AARRGGBB, I believe... two hexidecimal digits for alpha, two for red, two for green, two for blue. If you don't know what digits you color is, use the color picker on a free photo editing program (like GIMP) to find out.
My example above creates white with full opacity. You don't have to invert the hex or write it backwards or anything, so don't sweat it
updated OP with white clock
Just two questions now:
Is the standard Rom necessary? Austrie is using just the oddball version... If it could be ignored you could probably halve your development work
And what about the carrier text? It shows up as black (on black) for me, a relatively minor thing to fix but still...
And otherwise this mod is stinkin' amazing. Edit: my phone finally gave up on using a custom kernel so I returned it to stock. Disappointing but I didn't especially need the increased performance...

Carrier text was supposed to be like engraving (not contrasting) ; and my phone doesn't like the oddball kernel so i dev for my phone first; and then i dev for the rest of the other phones. I wouldn't have made an oddball version immediately except someone at androidforums.com requested it. So now i just include both downloads cause i need the regular kernel in mine.
Fair enough, it's easy to apply a kernel without much effort, and since my phone now hates all of them I just flashed stock anyway.

Redownloading to test just because it's small(er) and my phone is the only Internet connection I have... while you work on your Gingerbread rendition and I try to play catch-up on how you make ROMs.
Anyway...
*bump*
Any way to make a tiny zip to flash, just to change the clock color? Would just contain... services.jar, if I remember
Considering there are six relatively big ROMs sitting here.

sure i can do that!
And a long time later, I was looking for my instructions to change the clock color Mostly because my darn clock isn't appearing in my ROM any more (but then again, my phone has been pretty messed up lately). Two little things:
1) I think your instructions are out-of-date, unless you actually RECOMMEND wiping data still. Most people are saying the opposite.
2) I feel bad having to download all three ROMs at once... you should mirror off some popular massive filesharing site. If you ever have to re-up, I mean... as to keep your site from losing its bandwidth quota if you have one.
This is pretty legit

Clock in the Black Version
Added for the blind and the stupid that can't read changelogs or post two in this thread.
Goto spare parts, change colour in there and reboot for it to take effect.
***HIGHLY RECOMMENDED SETTINGS TO CHANGE AND/OR SET***
ADW Launcher settings-change "AB scale factor" to no more than "6" if you're going to use the background color feature, otherwise, it will not look correct.
Call Settings under Settings-enable "Force Touch Keyboard" to enable call buttons available on-screen
Spare Parts settings-
Change "Window animations" and "Transition animations" to Fast
Enable "Compcache enabled"
Enable "Launcher in memory"
Change all settings in "General" to white text for BLACK THEME ONLY
Under "Notifications": change "Notifications ticker color", "No notification title color","Ongoing notifications title", and "Latest notifications title color" to WHITE
For BLACK THEME ONLY-Under "Notifications": change "Clear notifications label color" to BLACK for BLACK THEME ONLY
Known Issues.
Black Edition - ADW Launcher wants to update in market. Please do NOT update as it messes with the theme and changes search bar to white, if not bothered by this update.
Also for both black & white it changes default wallpaper to ADW wallpaper.
LED notifications only work when screen switched off (I don't honestly see this as a problem, if your screen is on you can just see what the notification is for)
Clock is black on the Black status bar version. Goto spare parts and change the clock colour in there. Reboot for change to take effect.
Browser reload issue - I am currently looking into this, browser seems to be killed whilst multi tasking and reloads to homepage.
Ohai! where've you been?
This is amazing! I personally don't like the HERO battery icon, but I do love the black status, etc. So I put the WHITE BATTERY style on the black, and removed Linda/youtube downloader for anyone who wants to flash it, Mek didn't know how to do so. :]

This is sweet, real snappy from the get go. Love all the new spare parts/adw options. I'm very happy with this ROM, of course i'll probably wander on here a week from now and it'll be "outdated" and then eventually have to deal with froyo, I never saw all of this amazing potential when I bought my g1 so long ago. Very nice ROM but I'm not getting LED notifications when I receive a text or an email. Is there a setting that I'm missing? All I found in the changelog is "D/S: Fix issues with notification LED on D/S" Not sure what D/S is.
Edit: Never mind. The notifications are there when the screen is off.

nice work Jboogie.
But it is possible to add AOSP Sliders to unlock ?

Jboogie,
What launcher are u using in your screenshots?
Hey JBoogie3,
Nice to see you back again!
The new Deblur Honey is really nice, so far so good. One thing i would like to tweak though...
Would it be possible to have the wifi symbol to be the small arcs in the same blue tint instead? There is just so little difference between phone signal and wifi signal.
Many thanks, keep up the great work.
Andy
I would love it if it wouldn't have the Honeycomb Theme inside. Nothing against it, I would even accept it if there wasn't this ****ty icon for WLAN and MOBILE Connection. Both look pretty similar and if there are both on it looks totally confusing.
I think I have to change it and make it custom for myself. If you want to use it in your next Version just take these Icons for WLAN

I'm not a fan of the blue pop-ups and UI elements throughout Samsung's stock ROM. I also don't like themes that look like a child has gone on the attack with a bunch of crayons. I made some minor changes for myself and decided to leave them here in case anyone wants them.
You get:
- 14 notification toggles - credit to eybee1970 and lidroid
- % Battery
- White overscroll
- Most blue stuff gone - now green
- Pop-ups now grey
- Optimised and zipaligned
- ICS Transition Option (not included in Rocket v12)
Option for animated notification area background - see downloads
The real background is slightly transparent
Backup in case you want to revert.

Rocket v12, v13 and v14 - (Includes the lockscreen and smoothness fix - I have also included nicer toggle icons - do not flash the lockscreen fix over this mod - First boot might take a looooong time... don't panic!)
NOTE - The Rocket version should work on all KL7 deodexed ROMs - Some Darky users have reported problems... backup first.

That is because Rocket is deodexed. You need to have an odexed ROM.
If you have init.d support on your ROM, which I believe Rocket does, you can try this. But make sure you back up first. Just to let you know however, you can't reverse this. So you will need to flash the original ROM again when you want to change the base (e.g. when Rocket updates his build).
In practical terms, odexing will make no negative difference to your experience. In fact, there are two advantages: 1 you will have lots more space in the system (not that you need it) and 2 boot time is a little faster
Anyway, it's up to you

No, unfortunately it won't... but I will make one for you
I'll upload it later today.
EDIT: Uploaded... see the OP. Note, I haven't tested it as I am not running the Rocket ROM, but it should work. I see that his framework-res.apk has a different structure than stock (and it is also bloody massive compared to stock) but all should be good. Take a backup just in case.
If it doesn't work let me know and I will see what I can do.

Hi to you too! Keeping well I hope.
Yes, I've got one although I am a Windows Phone 7 fella now. I use an HTC Titan as my main device.
I like the Note's screen size, you can't beat it, but I am frustrated with Android. I'm also bitterly disappointed with ICS. I got rid of my Galaxy Nexus after 24 hours
Perfect on rocket rom O
Thanks for the update.
Great mod, thank you for it. Is it any chance to make it display correctly on a 240DPI? That would mean the notification toggles without the aditional text.
Yes, but I am unable to edit any xml right now, as I can't decompile on this bloody computer at work (I can decompile but I can't recompile)... all I can do is to swap out pngs right now
Feel free to use whatever you like from the zips attached, if you can't wait...
When I get a chance at home, I will happily edit the xml, but it won't be for a few days as I have a load of issues there right now. Sorry for the wait.

Thanks for the effort. I wish I knew how to do it and to be able to edit myself the xml files to get rid of the text... but I don't. I'll try to search and see how can I do it.
Search for 'APK Manager'. You use that to decompile/compile the apk and when you have the apk decompiled, you can use 'Notepad++' to edit the xml files.
You can't edit a compiled xml file.
E.g. Decompile > Edit > Compile

Each theme contains different themed apks - in order to make for what I thought to be a "cleaner" approach I included any default (i.e. black and blue) apks not themed that other themes include so themes didn't get mix-and-match issues. It was that or tell people to flash the default theme prior to flashing any new themes, but I sort of doubted folks wouldread that or bother with it, so I forced the choice a bit. I'm open to suggestions on how to better handle this though...
ah, I see...
I think that is a good approach... don't really think that you could be any more efficient/helpful aside from perhaps listing out a side-by-side comparison of each apk that is themed within each theme...

is there a way to change the notification background? not a fan of the android pic (obscures the text from my notifications). I do like the black background as opposed to opaque, but would just to remove the pic.
thanks!

Yes - but it's not an "easy" way necessarily. To change the notification background you would need to change two images (and make them both the same, just different sizes) - but there isn't an easy way to just remove the image. You would have to do some image editing stuffs to make a new background image for that one.
thanks...so what's the image named/stored?
also, did you get my e-mail?

Welcome to the "Energy" ROM thread !
This development thread is the home of my "EnergyROM" custom firmware series for the LG G2 for Tmobile. Here you will find ROMs that I have created for this device over time. My main goal when putting a ROM together is stability. A second goal would be a good, professional look.
I build my ROMs with four main goals.
Stability through private beta testing before public release
Eye candy ( I want my ROM to look great and for it to all flow together nicely)
Speed !!!
Smoothness, consistency and good aesthetics
I preconfigure a lot of things in my ROM, because when I flash it on my phone, I want it ready to go.
Now on to the good stuff...
(You can stay up to date on the status of my ROM development by "following" me on Twitter)
How to Flash this ROM:
- Root your device
- Install TWRP or some other recovery (I recommend the version found here > http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2469995)
- Install the downloaded ROM .zip found in post #2

wow! soo good to see you making roms for the G2! Been awhile since I came across you, brings me back to the good old Windows mobile days with the HTC Touch Pro(ATT Fuze) and HTC Touch Pro 2(ATT Tilt 2) days!
Cant wait to flash this mate!
going try this out right now. looks nice
Wow. There was some work put into this ROM.

try again to install this rom then reboot to recovery. get the furnace kernel for d800 and adb push it to /sdcard then install that. now try to boot into system. just an idea, may not work.
Looks droolworthy! Im also an AOSPA kinda dog but im wondeirng if this will work on the d803??
Alright... Looks like I might have to try a different kernel to get it to boot on your D800's. Anybody try flashing the furnace kernel on top of the ROM to see if it boots ?

It should work if you flash a d803 kernel on top.

Dont need to worry about the boot img? Cool im not that good with this kinda stuff, can you reccomend a d803 kernel?
I can't as I don't own a D803... And the kernel IS the boot.img
I was curious how it was going to work for multi variants. Most Roms have separate downloads for each variant.

Links are empty? Ready to try this with the furnace kernel.
I know. I took it down while I look into why it's not working for ATT phones. I'll paste the link here... only download if you know what you're doing (like flashing a kernel after flashing the ROM!).

Ignore the other "Download!!!!" ads. What a terrible way to advertise on a downloading website..
