anyone come from a g2x? - HTC Sensation

I currently have a g2x and love it and a rare one with no problems and am wondering if the sensation is a better choice it seems development is a lot bigger here than in the g2x and I would love more customization with my device. Any advice and experiences with both devices would be great. Honest opinions only please lol no picking sides! Just pure differences

My wife has a G2X that we ordered on launch day. Within minutes she had her first reboot. After about 3 days, I had the go ahead to replace the phone for new unit...but after reading around, I saw that many people were having the same issues, so I never bothered.
I ended up rooting it and playing with the roms that are available until I found something solid...she hasn't had any problems since then and loves many of the features that her vibrant did not have.
I don't think either one is a bad device...its all about personal preference really. But when you ask a question like this on a phone hacking website...I don't think you are going to get a real honest "end user" response

hes right, thats why i posted those threads...i never owned the g2x because of all its issues, but most of the sensation owners came from either the g2x or the HD2 (im a hd2 guy)
and the most common reasons were g2x had too many hardware issues, and the hd2 hardware was outdated.
either way, from my own research/experience, the sensation is so much better, and is only going to get better from now on, whereas the g2x is going to start getting stagnant from a dev perspective

I didn't have many problems with the g2x except for the screen bleed. Not really that much of a biggie since you can't see it unless you're in a pitch black room staring at a pitch black screen. Mine also never rebooted or had any of the other problems people were facing.
I swapped over to the S4g simply because I like phones, new phones that is.

Thanks guys I'm gonna try to see if someone is willito do an even swap for my great g2x hope I get a good sensation as my g2x is perfect minus the lack of developement

I've had HTCs for years. Against my better judgement, and having read a million reviews, I went for the G2.
One word; absolutely diabolical (yes, I know).
It lasted about 48 hours and was offloaded quicker than I could say "noooooooo".
Now I have the Sensation and it's soooo much better. I know some people don't use it, but I really love the Sense interface.
Never again will I stray. Honest.

I had a G2x and after the fourth one ... they offered me the Sensation.
WILL NEVER OWN AN LG PRODUCT AGAIN.
The G2X line was defective. HTC Sensation is by far a better phone.

Unlike a lot of others here, I'll give a differing opinion.
I came from the G2x as well, and I gotta say I really liked it.
Now, the reason I switched to the Sensation is because I'm the the type who always wants the latest/greatest. My Android phone history (in order): Nexus One, Galaxy S, Nexus S, G2X, Sensation.
I was pleasantly surprised by the G2X, it was my first LG smartphone and it was pretty nice coming from the Nexus S. Build quality, IMO, was better than the Nexus S, felt nice in the hand and premium quality. Speaker was nice and loud and, unlike most phones, was actually on the bottom of the phone so that when you placed it down it didn't muffle the speaker. The screen was decent, not as nice as the Samsung AMOLEDs but I'd say comparable to the Sensation (besides resolution).
I really liked the user made app that made the soft keys blink as a notification because those soft key LEDs were super bright.
Also, CM development was/is alive and well on the G2X and I loved having CM on that phone (or any phone for that matter).
So, no I didn't get a lot of the problems other people have had with the G2x (e.g. the crashing, rebooting, etc.).

I come from the G2x and even though I really liked it, I think that the Sensation is a superior phone.
Love is a very strong word so I won't say that but I Really Really REALLY like the Sensation much more over the G2x may be because I just really enjoy Sense.
I feels production quality were the G2x I always felt it was pre production.
So if I had to recommend one of the two it would definitely be the Sensation.

Are you guys happy with the MT4G?

Are you guys happy with the mt4g or wishing you had got the g2?
Or for people that have switched from the g2 to the mt4g are you guys happy or regreting it?

I am extremely happy. There is not one moment that goes by that I regret buying it and would not change over to the G2.
I bought the MT4G on launch day, returned it for a G2, and the very next day went and got the exact same MT4G back... The hinge on that G2 should never have made it beyond quality control...
Mt4g ftw!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1:d

I had 2 different G2's and then I switched to the MT4G. The MT4G is a much better device if you don't need the keyboard which many people now don't as with newer input methods like swipe the touch screen is just as good if not better than the hard keyboard. The G2 hinges were pathetic. The MT4G with Front camera, more RAM and more options is just better. The build quality is also very good.
I love this phone. I had the G2 and returned it. Never used the qwerty on it and that hindge was loose on week two. My MT4G is an awsome phone. I came from an iphone unlocked jailbroken iphone for the past 3 years! Android takes the cake. Now trying to learn about roots, roms ect...Time to have some fun!

Upgraded from the MT3G, and I have to say that I absolutely LOVE this phone! No regrets whatsoever.
Had the G2 for three weeks before the MT4G came out. I have no regrets about exchanging it for the MT4G. My only qualm with the MT4G are the physical buttoms Still, the only thing that would have made me want to return the MT4G is if the Nexus S had been made by HTC. Since it's by Samsung, I'm loosing zero sleep over it (although I still have 5 days in my new buyers remorse).

Coming from a Nexus to this I love the P buttons cause on the nexus I would accidentally press the captive ones and came out annoying sometimes! But I'm with you with Samsung making the upcoming Nexus S! But all in all I like this phone, I'm rooted, still on a stock rom and does not skip a beat! I can just imagine how beastly this phone will be when the Devs work on our phones!
Yup, ive been through my share of iphones the past 3 years, and kept telling everybody that theres nothing better then an iphone. Then I got irritated with not having 3g speeds with it and gave this mt4g a try. And I now theres no looking back. I tell everybody with an unlocked iphone to get the mt4g. It blows all other iphones out the water
+1 for real buttons.... I see this as a feature over the g2.... I'm so tired of touch buttons on the n1.....
Push them *****es all the time in the car... I always find the one I'm after after pushing all the other 3...

Coming from a Vibrant, I truly believed that there was no life after SAMOLED, I can now say w/o a doubt that life just gets better, This phone has surpassed all of my expectations.
Wow, these responses are blowing me away. I purchased my myt4g last night and was kind of unsure because of the nexus s coming. I have to say as of right now I absolutely love my phone. I truely didnt think I would enjoy it this much.

I purchased the g2 first day it came out, returned it 3 days later because i hated everything about it.
Just got the MT4G and was skeptical about sense, but after a full 48 hours of use im in love.
the g2 cant even shake a stick at the 4G
The best way to describe my opinion on the MT4G is that this is the phone I was expecting when I purchased the Vibrant back in July. After reading all the hype about the Galaxy S series, I was expecting a true superphone that will exceed everyone's expectations of what a smartphone should be. Needless to say, that was not the case at all.
Although I like the look of capacitive buttons, I accidentally touched them on quite a few occasions while using the Vibrant, causing the phone to perform undesired actions. Going forward, I will try to opt for phones that have physical buttons (unless, of course, Desire HD was released in the U.S.).
It's already been 2 weeks since I bought the MT4G, and I've yet to find anything that I am not happy with. Sure, the speaker could be better, and the screen could be SAMOLED. However, neither shortcoming is a dealbreaker for me, and the phone certainly works the way it was intended to work right out of the box.
I'm EXTREMELY satisfied with my MT4G. So much so that I ordered another one for my significant other! Back on Nov. 4th, I was just about to buy a G2 to replace my old G1. I was in love with the performance of the G2. It had a physical keyboard, just like my G1, and was the next logical evolution of the platform, so I thought.
While the T-Mo rep was ringing me up at the cash register, he casually said "Yeah we're really busy tonight, trying to get ready for tomorrows launch of the MyTouch HD" (he referred to it as the HD from what I remember). He went on to tell me some features, and even showed me the phone and let me handle it for a few minutes. I was so impressed with the ergonomics and the feature set (a 1GHz gen 2 Snapdragon processor vs. 800MHz gen 2 in the G2) that I told him to stop ringing me up for the G2 because I wanted to wait for the MT4G.
I'm glad I waited. While I still like the G2, its durability is highly suspect. It wouldn't be so bad if the hinges were made out of steel or some other durable metal, but they appear to be plastic. That kinda scares me.
And now that I've become proficient at SWYPE, I can crank out paragraphs almost as fast as I can type on a real full-sized keyboard. I could never do that on the physical slide-out keyboard on my G1.
It's no wonder the MT4G is back-ordered everywhere.
Coming straight of a rooted G1, this phone is heaven on a stick!
It's just great - it's responsive, fast, has so many features and the battery life is so much better than the G1. Sense does take some time for me to get used to, but that wasn't a problem since I could always use Launcher Pro or ADW Launcher if I didn't like it.
The main thing is that the performance of the phone has succeeded my expectations.
Coming from an Evo, Droid Incredible, Not one but three N1's , Samsung Epic 4G, Xperia X10, Original MOTO Droid, Droid X, I am actually highly impressed, down to the point where I have actually found what I've always wanted in an Android...

Switched to the g2x

Bye. My touch 4g, it's been almost a year, we had an awesome run, and your still one of my favorites, but Ive moved on to the g2x, and I haven't had any of the problems other are experiencing , this is a pretty awesome phone and I don't regret it, but if a new mytouch from HTC comes out ill be sure to go with that, until then ill be rocking the g2x.

Enjoy Is it really the fast and that nice?
That is one of the phones I am contemplating jumping ship for, how is LGs UI? You'll have to give a small review if you don't mind. Not sure if I want to go G2X or Sensation. Never owned an LG but I loooove HTC. Either way, good luck with the new phone.

Thanks guys, as for the phone itself its awesome I'm running bionix2, so I didn't really get accustomed to the stock UI, the screen itself is larger so typing is easier, and the colors seem allot deeper, I do miss my led notification light but that can be replaced with mods to the capasitive buttons (someone will come up with that), and the sensation is actually running a older processor arm a8 clocked at 1.2ghz vs the g2x arm a9 processer at 1ghz, so its actually better to get the g2x, I haven't had any problems and the update will fix any bugs, and by the time the sensation comes out the update will be released so either way I'm good.

I've been thinking of doing the same. I'm so fed up with HTC's lack of quality control that I've been looking at picking up a used Vibrant.
I love this device but after 7 phones, FINALLY getting a perfect phone and now a few months later having dust under the screen the romance is gone.
Let us know how it goes with the g2x. Maybe when the sensation comes out I'll give HTC another chance.

I feel EXACTLY the same way. Took my 5 phones to get to my perfect good screen then one month later dust under the top left corner of my screen.... And it's just getting worse. I love HTC but they quality control is horrendous. I don't care what people say about Samsung and their quality, but they make damn god phone's whether it's plastic or not. I've been trying to trade my phone for a Nexus S just because of this.
No problems here...
This is very interesting to read the users on this forum have exchanged their MT4G seven times. I have had absolutely no problems with my phone and I purchased it when it was released.

I got mine when it came out and it has the crap screen, but that was the only problem. But a few weeks ago i got a deal on one i couldn't pass on,with the good screen. I might sell that one, but i got a bad habit of keeping all my phones. Lol
I agree with the OP too, don't get the sensation. The CPU in it is actually outdated and QualComm already has a Quad-Core CPU in the works. Go with a Mali device or Tegra 2/3 .
G2x is quality control isn't that good either. My G2x has the worst LCD I've ever seen. It bleeds from all 4 corners and the battery only last 8 hours. I am running my own aosp rom.

I really just can't bring myself to purchase anything produced by LG.....It is such a Sh** brand. I would rather a company that focuses on making one thing great than a bunch of things mediocre. Great, you put a sweet processor in your phone..you still suck LG.

So definitely no Samsung products for you, since they make more differentiating products than any manufacturer. The G2x is having problems, just go look at their forums, but a patch is coming out soon that should alleviate the problems, except for the LCD bleeding.
I have to say, a ton of LG Optimus Ts get sold I have never had to do troubleshooting on one. I would say most calls are about HTC or Motorola products. In my own personal experience of troubleshooting, I'd say the manufacturers that make many different products seem to have the least problem phones, when compared to the phone only manufacturers.

The people with a good G2x, which is most, absolutely love their phone and the patch should fix the rest. Remember HTC made the HD2 and Motorola made the Cliq & Cliq XT. I cringe when I hear someone having a problem and I know exactly which line has the problem because one of the 3 phones above are the culprit. 1
Even with the G2x issues, LG and Samsung have a better track record than Motorola and HTC is problems with phones.
That may be true, they may love their phones. But to buy the G2X when the next big wave is about to come out makes no sense to me whatsoever. It is like purchasing a 2010 Ferrari a month before the 2011 comes out. (I use that example because smart phones are usually the same price, and that is a car where the price is not an issue). And as for the quality issue, I have never had an issue whatsoever with an HTC phone. I am a firm believer that 99% of the issues are user related. Like the guy who had 7 Mt4G's that wouldn't wake up on the stock ROM..c'mon now..
I loved HTC until recently. Had a flawless mt3g for almost a year and sold it for exactly what I paid for it. Here's the history with my glaciers.
1. Dust under screen.
2. Mushy power button and bad screen.
3. Bad screen.
4. Loud click from bottom.
5. Less loud click.
6. Keeper.
Three months later I have massive dust under screen.
7. Bad screen.
8. Mushy power button, scuffed up, bad emmc chip.
9. Bad screen.
At this point I gave up. I'm staying with #6 and shopping for a used Vibrant.

Like I said, you may be right. Maybe I just got lucky to get a good phone. I have had absolutely no issues. Good screen, good emmc chip, no dust under screen. I just associate LG with crappy products. I still would have waited for the Sensation.

What phones are coming out that outdo it? The G2x will get 2.3 very soon and has a tegra 2 processor that won't be outdone by the Sensation's chip. It may be faster processing speed(200Mhz) but many think the Tegra 2 processor is still faster than the Qualcomm.
You'll choose the Sensation if you want a 4.3" screen and the G2x if you want a 4" screen. They're made for different people, with speed and abilities being pretty well equal. The next jump won't happen until this fall with the quad-core processors.

[Q] Sensation or G2x?

I`m coming from an iPhone so this will be my first android phone. I'm very familiar with jailbreaking so I'm looking forward to rooting my future phone.
I was comparing the specs of these two but I kind of like the screen size of the Sensation, but love the exterior of the G2x. right now I'm leaning towards the G2x but I heard that the interface is fairly bland compared to the HTC and that it has a lot of problems. I'm sure I'll be able to add a theme or skin by rooting, correct? I also heard the HTC has a locked bootloader, whatever that means. I'm guessing that plays a big part in rooting. Any idea which I should get? Also, I was wondering if I do get an HTC would I be able to remove the Sense(the interface)?
G2X. all the way. I came from an iphone as well and was looking for a new UI but if you're looking for a sweet iPhone-ish UI definitely flash MIUI. Great battery life, stability and usability.
You should go with sensation, fancy right out the box. You don't have to root for custom skin or theme. If you are a person, who do not mind some little problem to get the best out of other thing like speed, smoothly, the handling of the hardware on your hands, then go with g2x. If you go with gwx you will need a good amount of time to find out which rom + kernel will be the best for your need, nobody will be sure that rom will be best for you seen some ppl have luck with all different rom. Seen you from iPhone you should try Miui rom 1st, you can dl it here or one from rootzwiki.
sensation is a POS with POS reception. Grip of death issues make wifi weak to unusable. skinny screen makes landscape the only way you can keyboard, but then wifi goes out.
Lots of great ideas put into something with ****ty implementation. My g2x has 2x the reception of my sensation. I'll never buy an HTC phone again.
EDIT: BTW, it got lower reception than our motorola cliq's, by 1-2 bars all the time, but if you picked it up, it lost another bar. Moto cliq would have 3-4 bars at my house, or my dad's house, where the sensation had 1-2, and if you picked it up, it became 0-1 causing dropped calls. Horrid.
What kinds of problems have you guys encountered with the G2x? And is it true that it has more dev support than Sensation?
I don't have a Sensation but I came from Mytouch 4G, which is a great HTC phone and still wish if I could trade my G2X to get the MT4G. I got this G2x as a replacement for my MT4G (insurance) about 2 weeks ago and i went thru 4 times of exchange due to reboot, auto turn off problem. G2X forum doesn't have much dev support (you can always check and compare between forums to see).
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1278780
Good luck with your choice.
btw, G2X doesn't have build-in LED, which is a big - for me
If u plan on rooting, go with the g2x because it was my first android phone too and it was easier to start of with since it is easier to root. Sensation u can root but it has more steps to it. My phone only rebooted once.

+1 on this.
The G2x is an amazing phone, but it's going to be outdated pretty soon, sadly.
Im trying to get a phone off craigslist for cheap. Found a couple HTCs and G2xs. Doubt there will be an Amaze when its released. Looks great though :O
I have a g2x and a Sensation. The Sensation has a bigger screen, g2x wins hands down everything else.. the Sensation does not even have reception at my house, G2x and even Mytouch 4G have 2 bars, G2x feels twice as fast and the battery lasts longer..
My only small beef is the buttons are in a different order on the G2x and I really love the HTC Sense lock screen and weather Widgets.
But to me the G2x is a better phone..

Just a warning if you use bluetooth stereo for like your car or headphones, it'll only work on the G2x on roms based off the official 2.3.3 rom. So you won't be able to run CM7 or MIUI without losing bluetooth stereo support.
I love my G2x (mine has no problem), and the recent Gingerbread update seems to have solved issues in most case.
With the Galaxy S II's coming out to major carriers, and the Nexus Prime weeks away... I would wait.
But seems like you need a quick phone now.
I love my G2x. We have working CM7, MIUI, and lots of custom roms. Since the Sensation has been unlocked, I'm sure they are starting to pick up some stuff too.
Most people think the development has been slow, but we have LOTS of roms... the problem is that nothing new has come out to develop. We have the latest CM7 builds based on AOSP 2.3.5, we have the latest MIUI, and we have several stock-based roms. What more can you ask for?
New G2x's come with Gingerbread out of the box so they typically work better then the original outlook (boinked software). My cousin has a new stock GB G2x and has no issues with it (came from an iPhone 4). The Sensation also has/had some pretty major issues out of the box with their touch screen not being responsive and dust under the screen (hardware problems). I don't think you can fix a boinked Sensation with a bad touch screen sensor with custom software.
The G2x can be a beast if you want it to.

Saying Goodbye To this Phone, What are your Experiences with this Phone?

So, my dog broke my HTC Sensation 4G's screen ... Now getting Samsung Galaxy S II T-Mobile. This was a great phone. Learned many things about android. Learned about Security Off and On, Radios. Everything. It was pretty bad though with no Custom ROMs.So I want to know what did you think of this device and how it performs. Before a last goodbye.
SGSII is nice, I played with it while still in development. Reason I wouldn't get it? Low dev support. Sure, there's a whole bunch of support for the SGSII in other countries but that version is COMPLETELY different then the one your getting. ALL the guts are different right down to the display so everything that has been done to that one wont work on the one your getting. It's a US only version. Just my .02.
I trialed the Amaze (yes I work for TMO). It was nice, fast but not faster than my Sensation and DEFINATELY not faster customized. Again, it's issue is it is only a TMO phone so dev support will be low. It will be nothing like the Sensation.
On to the Sensation. Best phone I've ever used, hands down. Everytime I pick it up, I'm still amazed by what I can do with it and it's user interface. Yeah, Sense 3.0 has a long ways to go but its so nice to play with. Something new almost every day!
I gotta be honest, when I first got my Sensation I was quite disappointed with the horrible UI that comes with it out of the box. But then I flashed Senseless Extreme, which made it a lot more tolerable. Now that I have flashed CM7 I am completely happy and my phone is extremely fast and smooth. I couldn't ask for more. Much more fun to use than my old Nexus One. I just love the huge, brilliant screen and the awesome CPU.
I personally am disappointed in this phone, but I enjoy it at the same time. I find the fact that it isn't perfect is what makes it fun: fun to try to make it better by modding it. If I had a phone that I liked out of the box, I never would have discovered rooting and custom ROMs and the like. I only joined xda because I was so disappointed.
Overall, I will never buy a LCD display phone again, the poor software integration left me wanting, and problems like the crappy speaker and decidedly average battery life were disappointing. So I am disappointed, but this phone has opened me up to the Android world (1st android phone and 1st smartphone) and I'm excited to see what it can do with ICS. I'll milk this phone for what its worth for sure.

i had a sensation too and opted out for the galaxy S2 ,i wouldnt worry about the dev support fo the galaxy as is there already a few devs over there and iit will continue to grow. i just couldnt deal with the dust issue .when you send a phone back because of this and the one you get back has it worse than the one you sent then its a problem. with that being said i loved everything else about the sensation but it was time to move on as i was sick of getting replacement handsets. galaxy is a very nice phone and i dont think i went backward any
I sold my sensation for the SGSII with T-mobile and it's the best decision I've made. The sensation stock is such a piece of crap, but thanks to the devs the phone is decent. But its sucks that you have to root your phone in order to get good performance. The SGSII? Smokes the sensation in every category except screen resolution. But the Super AMOLED plus display makes up for it. If you haven't seen it in real life you don't know what I'm talking about. It's simply AMAZING. No wonder why it gets all the praises.
I wish I knew how you make this phone lag. Mine is completely stock and I have no lag at all and good battery life. Of course I have no dust issues either so maybe I got an anomaly

I had the sensation, then switched to the amaze, then went back to the sensation. Played with the sgs2 and I hated the touchwiz ui crap. I know that is complete personal preference so personally it was enough for me to not get it and go back to the sensation. So I absolutely love my sensation. Even in stock form.
I heard a lot of complaining about the Sensation on this forum before I got it and I was pretty worried about buying it. When I played with it in the store, I thought it was a little laggy in scrolling and opening apps.
Buying it was the best phone decision I've made. I'm not a techno-wiz, but s-off, rooting and installing Android Revolution HD + the Bricked kernel was easy and has made the phone incredibly fast, usable and fun to use. Seriously the best phone I've ever used.
I went the other way I had a gs2 sold it why 2 reasons firstly the thing gets very very hot when playing games and I mean hot secondly its to thin uncomfortable to hold well it was for me. I then bought the sensation but lost my job so had to sell it I was gutted best phone iv ever had. Got a new job but bought a HTC desire s which iv still got but today iv just ordered a new sensation which ill get wensday carnt wait

This is the best phone I've had hands down. It took a lot to get it there but the best things in life... Well you gotta work for them. After getting CM7 and the anker 1900 battery this phone is a beast. I'm sure it'd kick the crap out of the tmo sgs 2.

This is the best phone ive ever gotten myself..I played with the sgsii and it feels like a toy in your hands and i also hated the touchwiz ui..I was planning to get the amaze but the phone is way too thick and the design is crap compared to the sensation..
I love this phone. Got it on launch day and have had no real issues. Maybe I got lucky? I have insurance but have never had any reason to send it back.

Love the phone! Came from Epic 4G, and I don't see myself ever buying a Samsung phone (unless, of course, it's a Nexus device!). It seems the TMO SGS2 might suffer a similar fate of having poor dev support as the Epic 4G because of the considerably different hardware (specifically the processor); they still haven't received Gingerbread, and no CM7 support (even the SGS1 hasn't received a stable CM7 build I believe).
Anyway, this was my first experience with Sense, and I have to say it blows TouchWiz out of the water, and offers some nice enhancements to stock Android (see camer). Despite the attractiveness of Sense, I put CM7 on this bad boy, and it is leaps and bounds better than the stock experience. Even tried going back to Sense, but a few hours later, I was restoring my Nandroid backup!
Take a look at CM7 benchmarks on the Sensation, you'll see that they are very comparable, if not better, than the stock SGS, which kind of suggests Sense is really bogging down the system.
Camera on the Sensation is great, and the resolution offers the most screen real estate that I've ever had on a phone. It's really fast, and does almost everything I want it to do. All it's missing now is Siri
I was disappointed in the phone at first, like some of you, but it has really started to grow on me. One thing that needs to happen, when you first get a sensation, is to S-Off, root it, and then put a modded ROM on it.
It doesn't even matter if it's a Sense mod, AOSP/CyanagenMod, or CyanagenMod - the stock needs to go to really get a feel for what this phone can do.
I actually like the LCD screen, although the SGSII's super-amoled screen is nice. I call it a toss-up.
I think what really did it for me was the realization that the software can be changed - but the hardware is much more difficult. This phone just feels better in my hand than the SGSII. I've been lucky enough not to have a "dust under the screen" problem (yet).
I dunno, maybe it's because I came from a clunky BlackBerry and an even clunkier OpenMoko.
I love this phone! I got it when all sensation still run as S_On and after while S_off and rooted this phone from 6/10 boost to 8/10 then someone on the this forum post out how to self unlock the phone without call the mobile provider it make it 9/10 to me. After flash custom rom and do some "Tweak" with the setting and skin. Even some iphone fanboy will play my phone while we hangout.
This phone is great. With a custom ROM it runs ultra fast. I recommend IC 3.3.1 with it.

[Q] Phone selection...

Hi guys,
My MT3GS suddenly decided to kick the bucket last night, so now I'm just looking around for potential new phones.
I'm considering among mt4gs, sensation, g2, and mt4g. I just want to know how you guys liked the phone, and which phone would be the wiser choice at the end, or if there's other phones I should consider as well.
I thank you all in advance for the advices!
Spec wise, the order is mt4gs/sensation at the top, mt4g, then g2. For they money, I say mt4g is your best bang for the Buck(150 on Cl from what I've seen). Development wise, mt4g and g2 are tied, with the sensation in third and mt4gs in last. I personally would go for the mt4gs if you can afford it. I've grown very fond of the keyboard in the two weeks I've had it, and the development will pick up. Maybe it will never be at the level of the mt4g or g2, but it won't be a handful of devs for much longer either.

I love this phone, but i've never had any other so can't compare. I'll have it for a few years.
I like being able to plug into a tv at a friends house and watch a movie, play some games, or just play music on basically anything with audio input.
Haven't found an app it can't handle, and I think it'll be a long time before that happens.
Just some middle of the night thoughts.
I have both the G2 and the MT4GS. T-Mobile isn't selling the G2 new anymore (I think they still sell refurbished units), but that device has a year head-start on the MT4GS. The MT4GS has the stability of dual-core, which means it's safer to play games on it. I'd go with the MT4GS if I were you.
I am sure you will be happy with this phone . My biggest gripe was lack of support. Since source has been released things. have picked up.
I haven't met a person or read a post here about people ever disliking. Our phone.
Also if you want to read up on certain things check out my sig.

mt4gs kicks ass. its future proof, once ics gets ported you will be happy u had a dual core phone. gpu rendering, multicore os for once....
the only thing i dislike is not having an OLED screen.
the potential to save battery from using a black wallpaper would be pretty nice. OLED screens actually turn off pixels for blacks on the screen.
