i'm not sure those two are compatible...
but if you want to give it a shot, heimdall the kernel.

i had no success doing this, and cant seem to OC the Miui Kernel past 1.4 stably - so post here if you get it going Speed....

You can heimdall it just like you can heimdall the zImage for kernels for Samsung-derived ROMs. Not sure if you can use SGS Kernel Flasher - haven't tried that.
When the phone is in download mode:
Code:
heimdall flash --kernel boot.img
I can't help you as far as Heimdall installations in Windows - I'm a Linux user.

Kernel Flasher Did Not work.......Bootlooped my phone in a never ending Voodoo lagfix install boot up.

How do you flash roms via CWM after using ODIN ?

Am I missing something , I used Odin to flash stock rooted rom and also to flash CWM , but when I use CWM to flash a new rom nothing happens and it stays the same . Am I doing this wrong ?
What stock ROM did you Odin onto the phone? Which ROM are you trying to flash on in CWM? Did it say it flashed successfully? Are you sure you didn't flash just a kernel? A kernel change will leave everything looking the same, a full ROM will, generally, change the look of the OS. I've never flashed a ROM in CWM and not had it do something.
Jason
I used Odin to flash CI510_VZW_EP1F_ALL_ONE_LTE_REV_user_CL300919_rooted_stock.tar and I tried using CWM to flash the Infinity Beta ,, And it didnt work.
make sure you mount /system before flashing in cwm.

Generally I will flash the version of the OS that the ROM is based off of, in this case that would be EP1W. I will flash the full, bloated and rooted, let the phone boot into the OS. Don't bother setting the thing up (signing into stuff) then flash the ROM you want to run.
Jason
For Infinity you must be on the build of GB its made for first (EP1W or EP3H), most others like Humble or Gummy will upgrade your build for you when flashed (like Gummy GBE 2.0 is EP1W based but you can flash it over nearly anything and it'll work)

flash once, then flash a second time with bootloaders checked.
then flash defuse kernel
then recovery
then flash uclb1
you can also try flashing entropy's latest first before the other step
I am trying to end up with stock kernel uclb1 with root.
Could I flash UCKJ4 and again to get boot loaders
Flash stock uclb1
Flash unsecure kernel
Root
Flash stock kernel back
I don’t think there is a way to use recovery with stock uclb1 kernel?

yeah...that will do it.
Dman already rooted it.
There is no need to flash an insecure kernel because dman's version already has 1.
You can mod or change it to your taste. debloat etc...
Then flash the stock kernel he has in the OP.
You will have root.
Recovery will be samsung blue 3e. If you want red recovery, flash an insecure kernel like defuse or entropy and go from there.
You'll feel like a magician pretty soon.

Yes, all you need to do is download the stock verizon rom for this phone onto your computer and Odin back to stock using PDA. Only use the PDA section in Odin. If you didn't change kernels then you don't need to flash the kernel, because the kernel is already the stock one. You can use custom kernels on Synergy. I'm using a custom kernel on synergy 1.3. What I did was downloaded the verizon ez recovery app from the play store, give it root permissions when you open it. Included in that ex recovery is a few different recoveries including CWM and TWRP and invisibleks v2 kernel. You can flash a kernel using that program. You simply just select the kernel and hit flash and then reboot recovery. The only downside is that when you flash a kernel you lose your recovery. But since you have the easy recovery, you just flash a recovery and you'll get a recovery back. Its really simple and awesome! I'm using Imoseyons Lean kernel v12 and it allows over clocking to 1.9! And under locking as well. I'm getting phenomenal battery life.

It shouldn't matter if you have a flashed a custom Kernel. Just Odin the stock ROM
Also if you want to go completely back I believe you will also need to flash the stock recovery and possible the flash counter.

Install Kernel Without rom?

Rofl, i know some smarties are going to reply to this. Anyways i am wondering if i can flash a kernel without a rom. I basically want to overclock my htc one x without a rom...keep stock in the process. I was thinking of flashing beastmode 4.0 kernel. Back to my question, is it possible to flash a kernel without a rom and in the process stay on stock rooted and not make your phone a paperweight?

Just go flash the boot.img from fastboot or the blackout kernel from recovery
If you are on sense it should work

[Q] switch between custom kernels

Hi. ATM I use elemental x and I've read to switch to another kernel I have to reflash the whole ROM. what's the problem with just flashing the boot.img to get back to stock kernel and then flash another custom kernel?

As jd1639 said... Yes, flashing the stock boot.img should be just fine.
Probably easier though, you can also just dirty flash the ROM that your currently running on your N5 without wiping anything and then while still in recovery, just flash the custom kernel that you want to switch too and done.

As far as I know, just flashing the stock boot.img is usually fine, but if you take a look at franco's thread, the process to uninstall includes flashing system.img as well, since a couple of system files are modified. I don't think elementalx does though, so what you suggested will work ok.

Very true... Some kernels do modify the system and that's why I find it easier to just dirty flash the ROM that I'm currently using, since it wipes the system partition and then you don't run into issues.
Thank you.
So I'll better dirty flash to avoid unnecessary problems with a new kernel.
All user data should be save with a dirty flash, am I right?

Yeap.. Nothing will be erased.
What about if I am on stock? Should flashing the flash-base.sh (from factory image) have the same effect like a dirty flash of a custom recovery with a zip of a custom Rom? So all use data be save.

If you mean the flash-all.bat, it will erase all data! Just flash the /system and /boot images and then flash the custom kernel..
Or, you can dirty flash the stock 4.4.4 rom and then flash the custom kernel.
Edit: no. I mean the batch as I named it. It's not flash-all. But I think it only flashes radio and bootloader.
Side fact: *.bat = Windows DOS and *.sh = Linux shell

No need to flash radio as well. Flashing boot.img and system.img will do the job is you're on stock and you're guaranteed to not lose your data. I think that will only happen if you flash userdata.img
Just flash the rooted stock zip ROM.
