Infused latest version - Samsung Infuse 4G

I searched the q&a threads and couldn't find my answer. I recently loaded the infused rom. I noticed that the data speeds are slower. In settings, about phone, it shows I'm on umts and not hspda which I'm in the coverage area for hsdpa. Is this a known issue or something wrong with my phone?

Have you tried flashing some of the other modems? A lot of people had that issue and a lot of them got fixed or better by flashing a new modem.

You don't have to disable voodoo
Sent from my GT-P7510 using xda premium
I do it all the time. No wipes, nothing but flash.
Sent from my SGH-T959V using XDA Premium App
The reason you won't have to disable voodoo is because the modem gets flashed to a different partition than the ones that are ext4 (voodoo enabled). Flash and reboot, that simple.
Flashed. Thanks for refs. Just wanted to be sure. Checked threads on modems and didnt really see "voodoo" listed. Thanks guyssss. . running kj3 modem. Runnin like a charm

It's all good. How's the modem by the way? I'm still on the kh2 modem. Seems jumpy for me.

I stay on 4G now at my house with KJ2 - which was a first. Flashed KJ3 yesterday and so far seems about equal. Reading other threads it seems different radio's work better depending on you geographical location.
Well. I basucly tested all the modems. So far, kj1 qnd kj3 were about the same. With the exception of kj3 having a better wifi signal, but as everyone says, still uncomparable to froyo. But its the best one by far. Kh2 didnt really work well for me.
P.s. The modem also depends on your location. I live in cali and the kj3 modem works like a charm.

Can you guys tell me which how many dBm you get with your modems? and which part of Cali are you guys in Northern or Southern?
I'm in southern california with KD1 and i'm getting somewhere from -87dBm to -79dBm. We can use this information to help determine which modem is best for our location.

Stuck on 1x

1X only please help
Ok so I flashed all of the gingerbread roms and none of them are getting me 3g or 4g but when I go back to froyo I get full 4g please help and thank u

I use an app called LTE OnOff. Download that. Try toggling to LTE only and see if 4G shows up.

NP, hopefully that does the trick
Going back to Froyo rom you will have load the Rom and radio as well. I find that this is maybe a longer process, but since I never have a problem I just stick to it.
This link - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=996616
Go to step 1 and then grab this file - PG05IMG_MR1_upgrade.zip
rename to PG05IMG.zip and put in root of SD card and flash via hboot
I find it more fool proof almost to just load this up and then restore my Froyo backup after. There are several ways to actually go back, I just find this one less prone to me for making an error
Ah **** when I reboot it goes back to 1x or 3g

So you are now getting 3G on gingerbread? That seems more than what you had before? if 3G works then 4G should as well. You can try to download the LTE on/off app and then you can check and change that setting
ya but sometimes it goes to 1x again and i have to go play with the settings for a while until it goes back to 4g ON EVERY boot is that normal ?

No, that is not normal. I only sometimes have to use this method on a fresh ROM. Shouldn't have to on every reboot...
Well randomly my cell went to 1x anyone having any issues?

Need help with ROM

What rom? Because of the EXT4 conversion it might screw some things up....
I didn't convert to ext4 I stayed on rfs
I used the stock Infuse 4g kk1 leak and the modem and kernel were from the cappy

That may be the issue right there.....do you have a 4g sim? I don't think the modems are interchangeable like that.....but if anyone would know for sure it would be Entropy512.....you may be able to PM him or find him in the SGS2 sgh-i777 forum....but don't post this in development.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I777 using XDA App
IDK why that combo wouldnt work, and did you disable before it started the conversion on boot, because it is enabled by default...
It never did a conversion on first boot, I will have to check my SD and see if I have a voodoo folder with disable laggix in it
EDIT : yup I have a voodoo folder with it disabled, so no ext4 conversion on boot.
@tylerdurdin Thanks, as I understand my modem must match my kernel or you have a no go.
Can you tell me if you find a solution?

I am with rogers.
The boot loader wasn't a problem but the radio doesn't pick up and signal on the 850/1900 bands.
Not only that but if you do flash that radio you will probably have the adb push a new radio to your phone.
I couldnt flash a new radio using clockwork for some reason.

I had a similar issue trying to correct a bad radio issue. Ended up having to flash it via adb as well.

KF1 radio works great for me. I'm on Koodo/Telus. There's a thread in General with the list of radios and links for all of them. Just flash them through CWM and it's no problem.

Which modem works best depends on your region. My toolkit for GB has four different modems in it. (see link in my sig below). You can try those in turn to see if your situation improves. Otherwise, try here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1342978
or check the Infuse Super Everything Thread (also linked below), and look in the modem section for more options.
