Do I have to take out battery and reboot to get into recovery mode? - HTC Sensation

If I don't take the battery out first, hit vol down and power button, nothing happens. When I release them, it will boot normally.
Is there an easy way to get into recovery mode?

Disable fastboot under settings -> power

That was checked. "Turn off to use some market apps".

Unchecked it. Then when you power off, it actually powers off and you can enter recovery.

Take the battery out, hold volume down and press power holding volume still
Pull out battery and replace. Then hold vol down button in and switch phone on. Otherwise go to Settings/Power and untick Fastboot. Then switch phone off, hold in vol down and switch on again.
ok, i had fastboot on i guess thats why i couldnt do it lol thanx
You don't need to pull the battery.

Do you mean that in recovery it will not select items?
Sent from my Nexus S 4G running CM7/franco.Kernel
I use Fix Broken Pro widget to lock the screen and No Lock app to unlock using volume down button.
I go to recovery using adb or Rom Manager. Then use back, menu, search, home buttons to go back, Scroll Down, Select and Scroll Up respectively.
Yea I can't select options in recovery or it'll continuously select reboot bootloader and I can never get into recovery mode

I guess I need to learn to flash through adb

If you are using cwm recovery, you don't need power button. Touch buttons are enough.
In CWM, do you see a message that says back button has been disabled? Somehow last night this was happening to me but in my case I simply pulled the battery and rebooted and all was fine. If it's acting up in the bootloader though I would suspect you have a hardware issue.

When I hold volume up and the power button to boot into the bootloader I can't select reboot recovery it just keeps selecting reboot bootloader since my power button is messed up

Actually issue resolved thanks to rom manager

How do I get into the stock recovery?

Friend has a HTC Sensation on T-Mobile and is having software problems. I suggested factory wiping and wiping cache in recovery.

go to boot loader ...
(power off phone ,remove battery,re insert it ,then hold volume down + power )
from there browse to recovery using vol up/down buttons and select recovery using power button
once you enter recovery ..you will have a red triangle ..if its stock ...then do a three finger salute (press vol up,down and power at once)..then you will get some options
Thank you sir!!
Also another question, is there a way to reboot (restart) the phone natively on stock? My friend is running the Official ICS OTA if that makes a difference. Or is turning off the phone and back on manually the only way? Lol.

This has been asked multiple times before. It wouldn't hurt to search.
Anyway, here is how you do it.
1. go to settings > power > uncheck fastboot.
2. turn off the phone.
3. Turn it back on and hold down volume down and power button at the same time. keep holding till you see the menu showing ur s-on/s-off info.

I have been using revolution for some time. I recently downloaded the current version. When I tried to get to the bootloader, (vol up/power), the phone vibrates 3 times and the yellow light blinks.
I have to remove the battery to re-boot the phone.

That's because its volume down + power. Volume up takes you to Qualcomm mode.

Not sure. I just heard attn1 refer to it as such. Probably a secret HTC debug mode. If you plug your phone into pc in this mode it installs a different driver than usual.
