i switch phones very often, usually every 3-4 months... but since i bought my tbolt at best buy i have to hold onto it till at least january which will be a challenge for me.
i know verizon doesn't always carry the best top of the line phones but ill be looking at the next iphone or hopefully the galaxy s 2 early next year.
what might be your next phone after the tbolt?
I keep them until I get my next free phone. Paid $10 at best buy for my bolt.

The TBolt is my Next Phone!
I just got the dang thing! Just rooted it and installed DasBAMF stripped 1.8.6 and the OTA radios from 7/8. Not upgrading the hardware for a LOOOOONG time.
Oh, FWIW, I paid $99 with a new contract via Amazon Wireless. I was out of contract and month to month on TMobile, prior.

I paid 129 from wirefly. I'll keep it for a while. If the galaxy sII is 4G LTE I'll consider it. It will likely get a ton of dev support.

I paid 180 for mine with my new every two and extra discounts.
I am thinking about getting a iphone4 (cough cough) from ebay just to check out and see what all the hipe is.
no way i would downgrade from a tbolt to the "new" iphone. thats like going from a 1000cc crotch rocket to a pocket bike.
im pretty content with my tbolt. it does everything i need. the 3d would be pretty sweet on it though
i probably paid more because i went through best buy, although my wife's lg vortex was free so all in all im happy. i think the sg2 will be my next phone.
After the MR2 update that just rolled out, I'll be happy with the Thunderbolt for a while. I'll hold out till they release a Nexus phone for Verizon, then I'll switch in a heartbeat.

Probably the Bionic. According to engadget, it will have full HDMI mirroring. Assuming this is true, it will be my next phone. (when it has been rooted, no much launch day buys for me.) If it isn't true, then I will wait till something has an HDMI out with a 960x540 or> display. As far as hardware goes, the TB is more than enough for what I use a phone for. I rarely ever use it for gaming. So, I really only want a better screen and HDMI. That is, if I stay with VZW. If I don't it will probably be the next gen evo.

Yeah. When I saw 129 from wirefly I jumped on it. The tb was actually my second choice. Wanted a charge.

My SO/GF has an iPhone 4, and she is always on it. She's a techie, but not quite as UNIX-y as I am.
Personally, and having been an iPhone 3 and iPod Touch owner (and still am), I cannot see any advantage to an iPhone 4 from an unlocked 1GHz Android device. Battery, perhaps, and pocket portability with the small screen. I would suspect to hear of your disappointment after a thunderbolt.

Hey all,
I have a Thunderbolt that I got the day before they killed unlimited data, and I have had so much trouble with it. Long story short, they have offered me a Razr or a Rezound as a replacemet. I'm much more interested in the Nexus, but they say that Nexus's discount codes are avalible yet.
So I don't really love the idea of waiting for 4 months for ICS on the Razr, not having a replacable battery, and huge bezels. And the Rezound is interesting, and feels a lot faster and smoother than the Razr, but after my experience with the Thunderbolt, not sure I am totally ready to go back. And I guess the most important thing is that the dev community will be much more focused on the Nexus, which coumpounds the ICS wait

I had a Tbolt longer than all the other phones I had, which by the way makes 15 to date. The Tbolt with CM 7 is an unstoppable force. I have the Galaxy Nexus and its cool, but the Tbolt is still faster ATM and rock solid.
Don't judge a phone by it's stockness, Rzr is moto and moto is locked down. Take it back and get the Nexus.
You said yourself they will not replace your Thunderbolt with the just released Nexus. So either take a replacement or keep the Thunderbolt.
Sent from my HTC ThunderBolt using xda premium
Why not ask for a new out of the box thunderbolt? Not a refurbished one.
Did you ever get this? I had a Verizon rep say they'd send me a Rezound but then their supervisor turned around and denied it. They said they could only send me a Charge or an LG Revolution since they were in the same class or something.

I was in the VZW store the other day looking at the galaxy, the guy that helped me said his wife has the galaxy and will be returning it cuz it gets horrible 4g (in salt lake anyway). He had the Rezound and said he loves it. Anyway, where do I get the cm7 ROM? Not trying to steel this thread

hey guys my brother is looking to upgrade from an HTC hero on sprint. He's looking at the epic 4g and the nexus s. The nexus s is only $50 on amazonwireless, is it worth it over the $150 epic 4g? All the reviews I've read say its a good phone but has signal and reception issues, have those been fixed? This phone would not be rooted so it needs to work out of the box. Thanks in advance for any input.

only for 50$..Okay..take it..!
Or you could wait until the Galaxy Nexus comes to Sprint. I'm not a big fan of committing to a 2 year contract on a year old phone.
NS4G should be free w 2 yr contract on most sites. I would, however, wait until Galaxy Nexus comes out if I'm getting a 2 yr contract. Spoke to a Sprint rep few days ago and he stated that Galaxy Nexus should be out in June.

There's no way my bro would wait till June haha. His Hero is on its last legs and he's trying to spend as little as he can on a new phone. He would be getting an upgrade as an existing customer, I don't see anywhere that is free with 2 yr unless you're a new sprint customer.
Thanks for the input so far.
I've been fairly pleased with the NS4G, having come from the heroc. It will definitely feel like an upgrade. I would definitely recommend checking other sites though just to see if you can find it cheaper. I do think that the $50 is a fair price though.

I've had the Hero, Evo 4G and now this and I cannot recommend the nexus s 4g. The signal and reception issue are bad. I can hold my phones side by side and tell the difference.
Pick up one used on Craigslist if you can; I paid $120 for mine. Lots of ICS love for this phone. I also have an Evo and the screen on the NS4G is smaller but beautiful.
well my brother got the galaxy s II epic 4g at a good price locally, thanks for all the input guys
If he's not going to root and he wants his phone to eventually be updated to Android 4.0 then I'd say Nexus S. I highly doubt the Epic 4G is going to be updated. The NS4G hasn't been yet but it will be.

The nexus s is a really nice phone. I've had it for a few months and I will never move away from the nexus experience from now on.
But I would not get it on a 2 year contract as its already 14 months old. I would wait and get a galaxy nexus if you can afford it.
But if your low on funds and $50 is all you can spare I very much doubt you would be disappointed with it

as others said, trade, then sell the iphone for many moneys, buy an awesome newer 4g phone.
Iphone 4 would get OP enough money to buy a used Rezound or Gnex easy.
Ya iPhone 4 is definitely worth more (dollar value wise) than a tbolt, can easily buy u any 4g phone if u wanna stick with android. I agree with the two previous posters 100%

Don't forget the Kickstand! It is one of my favorite features of the phone especially since it is native to the phone with out a case.
I can agree with the trade too for money purposes. I would not trade just to stick with it though - I agree with the one who said Itunes not good. Apple is too restricted for me at least. Can't say much on the revolution you mentioned as I don't know that phone all that well.
I owned an iPhone 4, its not a bad phone if its jailbroken. I don't have any regrets with selling my iPhone for a thunderbolt. In my opinion Android is by far the better operating system.

Not a good move IMO, the iPhone 4 isn't worth much more than the TB, but it's older, has a tiny screen, is thicker, only 3g, and half as useful as any android device. (I am forced to have an iOS device (currently iPad, used to be iPhone 4s) and Blackberry at work, and have the TB as my personal device so I get/have to use everything).
BTW, those saying you can get $300 for a USED iPhone 4 (not 4s), must know some real suckers. For the most part they can be had for under $200... USED Thunderbolts go for about $130-150.
Also, if you plan on selling it and getting a new device, do it soon. Before VZ charges you $30 dollars to "upgrade" starting april 22nd... That would certainly eat into any "profits" you are looking for.
One last thing, I'm not sure how VZ handles going back to a 3g only CDMA device. It's possible they could make you switch plans, meaning you could lose unlimited data. Not sure about that, but probably something you would want to check out.
The iPhone 4 is worth way more. $300 + used. A 32g 4 will easily get you that money. I can buy thunderbolts for $125. Do the trade. Sell it if you want and buy something else or trade it for anything.
EBay will get you good money. My coworker sold a 32g iPhone for $325 last week
I went from the iPhone 4 to the TB, love it but loved my iPhone too...if would have had a larger screen like the TB and the widgets, I would have been all set and probably would still be an iOS freak, lol!
Use it around the house still on wifi for the apps that I cannot get on my TB. You'll enjoy it if you do trade.
Still searching for an iPhone. Have a guy that wants to trade me his Bionic plus an OtterBox. I've got the Trident extended case on my Bolt.
What do you guys think? Never used a Bionic before.

White elephant.
Right now if you use the code PTEL25SD you can get 25% off. I dunno why you'd want to buy a G2x right now, but it's still pretty cheap for the power and the cheapest you can get it new, plus I have faith in Mazout360 and adampk with all the jellybean development, so it *might* turn out to be a good price if you're looking.
Looks nice and all, but $230 for a g2x?
No thanks.
