When I'm using eagleblood 1.9 my internet didn't say 4g or 3g it just says e or h,is this normal,,, and is the battery good on this rom
Sent from my LG-P999 using XDA App
yea this is normal. The dev who made it said in the thread he just didn't add icon for it, but you are still geting 4g
Yes that is normal the "H" Stands for HSPA+ TMO'S high speed network. And the battery is really good the best I have seen yet out of any of the roms I have had.

Well being as you are on xda forums I am assuming you will root and install custom roms. When you do, you will get the hsupa on the inspire like att should have had it

Yup. Not a big deal if you run a custom Rom and kernel.

Ahhhh. I thought this was a hardware deal. False alarm. Thanks guys

I've noticed the past two days I'm on 3g 90% percent of the time even running a dhd Rom. Is the hsupa defined by what kernel is used or is coverage in the ny area lacking? Anyone else having issues?
I've been getting upload of 1.59 with att1 stock rooted.
Sent from my Desire HD using XDA App
I don't worry too much about upload speed on mine. There's no ffc to worry about video chat quality and I don't upload much except for the odd pic.
I get faster upload on att 3G than in sprints 4G.

Same here. My downloads are usually 800ish kbps. Maybe 600ish for upload.

so which kernel do u recommend running? i'm gonna be rooting tonight or tomorrow, i was gonna go with the stock kernel as was suggested in the other thread.
I'm running att1 stock rooted and the with stock kernal. You have to use this one or the telus kernal until source is released. My combo has the best sound. Plus non market apps and hotspot active.

I'm getting garbage DL and UL on my Inspire. My xPeria x10a is slaughtering. I have pics to show but xda won't let me put links up yet.
General newbie rooting question... if I have all my apps and crap installed and I root, do I have to reinstall it, or is it like jailbreaking iPhone where it just adds root access without touching the installed stuff?

The problem is that not having HSUPA affects your latency and download throughput negatively.
According to Engadget, Inspire hardware most certainly supports HSUPA and is disabled via firmware. If AT&T and HTC agrees to do so, they can easily release a firmware upgrade that would enable HSUPA.
Of course, I'm expecting custom ROM and kernel that will support HSUPA.

Wow. That's rough! Should've never been disabled in the first place. Duh....
Is it possible? And by 4G I mean H+ not H.
What Rom are you running on your phone? Some desire hd roms only show H. H+ is only at&t's way to make people believe they are on "4G".

I'm now running HTC Stock Optimized v2 and I got 4G back. And the 4G still a lot faster than 3G imho.

H and h+ are the same. Just cosmetic difference. Stock stock att rom has it because they think it looks better than regular h.
Also known as a gimmick.
Or bullcrap.

yea, if you change all of 3 .png image files you can make you phone say H, H+, 4G or even "supa fast" if you can make it fit in the space.
In my country theres not 4g networks and my Inspire 4g show H+
I have a inspire 4g but I'm getting confuse about the 4g part.. I have used this hack..
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=952352
-using the Rom Android revolution 4g Rom..
My question is am I getting true 4g network with these gingerbread sense Roms.. all I get is "H" and 3g.. I notice during the hack that it kept saying downgrade.. is this what they are talking about?!?!. Is it because of a lack of icons for the status bar that indicate if its 4g or not??.. if so what Rom or theme that can do the job?
Note: I really like gingerbread period. I really like very fast roms with eye candy or something that I can trick out
Technically none of us are. LTE is true 4 g. Best you can do is speed tests across several days with full signal and compare the speeds to full HSPA +.
Sent from my Inspire 4G using XDA App
Also try not to pay attention to the status bar too mcuh, often times it is incorect.
H+ is cosmetics. H+ is just hsdpa. That's all

There's been a lot of discussion about the low WiFi signal from most, if not all, of the Gingerbread builds. Many have speculated that it's simply a display issue and not a performance one.
My wife has a stock ROM (Froyo) and I have the GB build KH1. I did a test comparison of both the WiFi download speeds and the 4G performance.
The KH1 ROM *way* underperformed the Froyo one -- to the point where her stock ROM was at least 2-3x as fast as the KH1 build. 4G performed similarly. WiFi Analyzer also showed a huge difference in signal strength.
I then installed the KH2 modem and tried the same experiment and while it improved it somewhat, it was still woefully lacking in speed over the stock Froyo ROM.
With that said, has anyone found a prior modem build that works better than what's been released recently? This is a huge issue for me and while I love the GB build, to lose that much connectivity speed is troublesome.
There is a thread with all the modems on them, check the bible, you can flash each one to see which is best for you.

I don't think its a modem issue with gb. I've tried them all, wifi still sucks.
Sent from my SGH-T959V using Tapatalk
Yeah not much you can do here, there will be more leaks..as wifi is still horrible and unacceptable for such an expensive phone..samsung just have to get it right!!
Thanks for the info and confirmation. I was afraid that we'd have to wait for the CM7 release. I've tried several of the modem releases and nothing has worked any better.

yeah its just gb..if its really important just flash back to froyo..but theres good benifits for gb..netflix,skype video calling, better battery life..and all around smoother

I just jumped in neck deep and flashed the latest GB rom KII, Doc's new kernel and was surprised at my wifi speeds. before on stock froyo my wifi was sluggish and intermittent. Now as a matter of fact my whole phone is faster, very snappy. I'm very happy seems like I got a new phone with a duel core cpu
Thanks to all!
Suddenly I am only seeing the "H" Icon for my data connection and not the "H+." which was ALWAYS there. Download speeds haven't changed much (they still suck varying between 1.1 and 3Mbps).
I know it really doesn't mean much but I ALWAYS had H+ indicator (whether it was right or wrong) but now I only have "H."
Nothing here has changed (at least as far as I know) and wondering what might have happened.
Running Serendipity VII ROM fwiw.

My infuse showed a 4G icon when it was on stock but since flashing LinuxBozo Hellraiser and the SensatioN Galaxy S I9000 ROM it only shows the H and I think its because the ROM does not have the proper icon in it...
Anyone else have any opinion on this?

That sounds correct. An I9000 ROM won't have an H+ icon in the framework.
Serendipity VII does not use H+....so you should have always had a H only while running it...
