I am amazed at how quickly things have progressed on the tbolt. Its been out for 2 weeks, and we have root/s-off, O/C kernals...custom roms...It reminds me of the OG droid days. Everyday i wake up, I see something i NEED to flash to the phone..lol. My GF thinks im nuts, but im def enjoying this phone more than I thought i would. Im so glad i didnt wait for the Bionic.
Me too! This is awesome
Agreed, I'm also waiting for a one click root as I'm not to familiar with abd and don't want to brick the phone. Love all the great work all you devs are doing!

This is the key reason I truly appreciate having an Android phone, the developers ROCK.
Thanks to all that take time and effort to provide all those good things.

Watching all the development is amazing. Still waiting for a super easy one click root method before I jump into rooting
Once you root, then you will love it even more. It's moving faster than I can many days.

Well, first off, I am jellette/Heathen of the Einherjar Dev Team. You will find us mainly in the Samsung sections.
Link to just my releases: HERE
It looks like I will be most likely making the move to the MT4G today as my SGS Vibrant is suffering its second wasted usb port.
I don't have much non-touchwiz experience but I didn't have any TW experience when I started so I don't see it as too much of a problem.
I haven't had a chance to scan through the MT4G forum yet to see the state of development but I would imagine you already have some Kick A$$ devs over here. I will spend the next few days familiarizing myself with the phone, its rooting methods, types of roms and mods available, etc. Then I will dig in.
If there are dev specific requests, please post them here.
I will begin with porting our already available roms and mods: HERE
I'm not, and couldn't even if I wanted to, leaving EDT - we will just be expanding our development to HTC devices.
I suppose that's about it for now!
Welcome to MT4G, I'm sure we will all be eagerly awaiting your work. Good luck with the transition.
So happy to hear we have another DEV.
Welcome and good luck.

Welcome aboard it's always nice to have new devs, especially ones with experience.
Glad your here missed your work from the vibrant days. Your roms always kicked butt and were revolutionary in their design. Can't wait to try one of your mt4g roms

Some ideas for rom ports
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=840040
^Android Revolution, seems to be very popular probably very good
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1115312
^Virtuous fusion unity, based on the official rom from htc pyramid
Maybe you could try a galaxy rom port, since sense runs on sammy phones.

Gfree is safe, it only bricks myTouch 4G's that have the bad eMMC chip. But even that is still all a speculation.

Well Well now who's the little blood sucker's now? I posted a few questions about two days ago and was bashed buy a bunch of little 13yr old and even seniors member's on here. I was sat back and got a huge kick out of it. Anyways as always I work alone away from most of the FREAKS on here. YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE!!!!!
Anyways after many hours working trying to get temp root on the new Gingerbread 2.3.3 OTA Update! I was successful in creating a working Temp Root!
This was done with the help of a very good friend that wishes to remain anonymous. I also seen many people are giving away a reward for the person who figures a way to gain root on the device. My response to that is keep your damn money I don't want it and my friend don't either. So if you all are thinking this is a way to retain the award your WRONG you little maggot!
We don't want anyone's money let alone your's. The temp root works and is very easy to achieve! I will be posting the guide in about 35-45 mins for other's to achieve this temp root on the HTC EVO 4G!!!!
For them little pricks that sit on their asses and wait for a Root and don't even give to the xda community but will leech and whine about everything make me sick. I'm so tempting to not even post the guide and let you pitiful bastards suffer and burn in hell and be miserable while I enjoy my new Rooted Device. Then my friend said what about the ones that have spent countless hours for the love of the EVO. That's what changed my mind so what now?
It's 7:25 my time and I'm going to begin this simple guide for those who deserve this root. It should only take me 30-45 mins to explain how to gain Temp Root on your HTC EVO 4g with the New OTA Gingerbread Update with S-On........
Congrats if you got it. Look forward to reading everyone's BS in the new thread!
I still have my launch day evo so it wont really help me at the moment.
I hope you just edit this thread to the instructions or put on your flame suit again.
if you really did acheive temp root, mad props bro...

Thank you for the effort. Some might read this and feel that you are coming off as a jerk, but I am sure you are just very excited. I am sure that like me and the countless others that check in multiple times per day, seeing all the awesome regularly updated ROMs, all you want to do is get the most out of your Evo. Congrats to you and thank you for sharing.
There will always be haters and nay-sayers no matter what the issue. Shake em off! Great job on your success. I am in need of this so I will be following this thread very closely. My rooted Evo had to be replaced and this new one has 2.3 on it sucks being unrooted ugh. Great job again.

Sorry if this is in the wrong section but I am in need of some help with rooting.
All I need is someone to point me in the right direction on finding a the best program that will root my phone. There's so many programs out there and I'm not sure which one works or not and what to really do. I would really appreciate it if someone could help. Thanks.
I am running on the 2.3.3 Android software
Use Attn1's hack kit. Very easy. Just read the directions and the "effen" manual.

+1. That's really the only rooting method now. I'm curious, Where did you find "so many programs out there"?

Well like there's Hack Kit and like Bubby's but I think I keep getting confused with rooting and other ROMs and stuff.
Bubby's is old and there has been no new support or development for a long time. Attn1's hack kit is the only kit that will work with the newer versions of android. Currently it is not only the easiest to use but also the only one which will work.
cant we just help someone without calling them out. this is supposed to be a friendly helpful environment.

Hey I'd like to thank you guys for helping my out a bit and if I could ask anymore questions later on while I attempt to root my android could I come to you guys for more reference?
It will NOT work. No amount of hoping and tweaking will make it work.
Yes, I know HTC is confusing you. These phones look the same and have the same name. But the CPU and GPU are different, as is the firmware. There are different sections on XDA for a reason.
Yes, I know there is more development in the International One X forum. It's hard to watch all the progress and not do anything. But there's more development in the Gnex forum. Hell, there's more in the SGS3, and you wouldn't flash a ROM for that phone even though it actually uses the same processor, would you?
If you try, the best you can hope for is a bootloop. At worst, you may hard-brick your phone, because the One X and One XL use different boot partions.
Look, people here want to help, and we understand that weird things happen that may cause your phone to go haywire. But when we see this happening over and over and over and over again, it becomes increasingly difficult to muster up any sympathy, especially when the people doing this really ought to know better.
Okay? Pretty please? The next person who does this is probably just going to get laughed at. Don't be that guy.
UPDATE: On stock 2.20, the boot partiton is write-protected, so flashing an international ROM won't give you a paperweight, but it will fail mid-flash.
and iElvis has left the building.

With how many people seem to be doing this, I can't say I'm surprised AT&T mandated a locked bootloader.
It would be nice to think that if one can figure out how to root and unlock the bootloader that one could at least understand the difference between the One X models.
