Adb ON the transformer - Eee Pad Transformer Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Was playing with the terminal emulator and noticed that the adb commands you could use in linux seem to work on the transformer! So I connected my evo 3d to it and typed adb devices and it didn't see my phone... do I need root? would be wicked cool if I could use adb from the tab then every time I want to flash a kernel I could use it instead of pulling out my M18x.

you need to install the asus suite for it to work.

My bad, missed read the post. Though you were trying to get ADB to work for TF to PC. I now see what you're talking about.
I don't think kernel can be install using terminal anyway.

Yes you can use that method. I used the files/instructions in that thread to install Ubuntu before, but I didn't think it was very good in vnc so deleted it.

You'll need the USB driver + fastboot. This usually means download and install the sdk as I doubt many are manually grabbing the appropeiate fastboot binary for their system and manually pulling the USB driver.
Thus fastboot, adb and driver become synonymous given the general lack of knowledge regarding the process, but technically you are correct even though I'm guessing he wasn't specifically asking if *just * adb was necessary. I could be wrong though.

Fastboot oem unlock.
Flash custom recovery via fastboot
Flash su binary from custom recovery.
You now have root access and a stock rom, all OTAs will work without issue as well (assuming you don't change anything in /system, flash a new kernel. Etc.

Are you sure?
If you are using windows:
windowsbutton+r --> cmd
Code:
set path=%path%;C:\Program Files\Android\android-sdk\platform-tools; (default install directory)
adb devices
It should show your connected device. Hope this helps.

Read about using adb, only what I can say is - adb pull /sdcard/file1 /sdcard/ to download a file1 from you Nexus 7 to TF300T, adb push /sdcard/file2 /sdcard/ to upload a file to you Nexus 7 from your TF300T. Noob don't mean you can not use google and learn something self .
